FRESH MEAT

Meet The Two Very Fine Gay Finalists Of PETA’s Sexiest Vegetarian Contest

While I’m a tried-and-true meat eater, I have noticed that vegetarians tend to have pretty hot bodies. And you’d be fairly hard-pressed to find an overweight or obese vegetarian, for that matter. So it’s no surprise that the two gay male contenders who made it into the final round of judging in PETA’s “Sexiest Vegetarian Next Door” contest are pretty smokin’. First up is Dan Savage doppelgänger Zachary Koval (right), a 28-year-old Brooklyn resident who went vegetarian at age 10 and later went vegan after learning about the suffering of cows used for their milk and hens used for their eggs. His biggest turn-on is other vegan men, and of his buff physique, Koval—who is an actor with an experimental ensemble—quips, “No animals were harmed in the making of this body.” Click through to meet the second gay sexy vegetarian, Mark Kostedt, and vote online if you feel so inclined.

A procurement agent for a multinational corporation, Kostedt went vegetarian three years ago after watching the PETA video “Chew On This.” He says that his healthy and compassionate diet helped him lose a few unwanted pounds and that he has more energy now. He enjoys biking, running, cooking, and reading.

Vegetarian and Vegan men are such a turn on. I am proud to be vegan as well

I work out with several vegan men. How do they stay vegan still pack on muscle? They don’t. They cheat. Most vegan gym bunnies (like most vegans in general) cheat.

LukeJoe – vegetarians can eat whey protein and vegans can eat nuts. If you had real nutritional data (like I do from a hospital system certified by the usda and used by nutritionists) you would know this. I suspect you are basing your view on circumstantial hear-say and anecdote. You’re simply wrong.

    Vegetarian are always hotter.

I have been a vegetarian 11 years and feel the healthiest ever. I can’t remember the last time I went to see a doctor or got sick. Plus it’s so easy to stay in shape.

there’s nothing better than eating beef with beefy guy in bed!

vegan here. sadly, i’ve never met another gay one [hello tom (^_~) ]. and, therefore, can’t even attest to whether “it” really does taste better.

that vegetarians and vegans don’t get fat is, unfortunately, a myth. cheese is the undoing of many of the former, and the laws of thermodynamics still obtain for the later.

i’m in a bulking stage in my workout routine and so i’m in mourning for my abs [goodbye tom (;_;)]. it’s very easy to put on weight as a vegan. believe me.

got me some bunnies to hug. bye.

All that whey and veggies make for some smelly gas! Don’t know how they do it.

@PRINCE OF SNARKNESS aka DIVKID: You’re vegan, too? Always knew I liked ya!
I’ve got a BMI of 23, so I’m in pretty good shape. However, mama didn’t get these Monroe hips because she doesn’t like vegan pastries. With the increasing interest in veg eating, many new restaurants and bakeries are out to prove that vegans can, and do, overeat.

I’ve been a vegetarian for 35 years and I’m seriously overweight, partly due to medication. When I was their age I was very slender and muscular, I quit eating meat entirely at age 25 and I’ve been vegan at home since the 1990s. Both of my parents had hardening of the arteries and my dad had heart atacks and bypass surgery, but in spite of my weight, I have no plaque at all. I can’t stand the idea of eating anything from an animal, but when I’m out I will eat birthday cake or whatever even though I know it’s not vegan, as long as it doesn’t have meat, gelatin, or lard in it.

Dan Savage is fugly both inside and out, and so are men who look like him.
