The gay marriage debate's reaching a fever-pitch in Sacramento California:
Demonstrations over Proposition 8 continue this morning after they turned violent over the weekend with police making arrests, ticketing motorists and trying to keep the peace at a Citrus Heights intersection where hundreds of demonstrators on both sides of the gay marriage issued clashed.Demonstrators are out again this morning at the intersection of Sunrise Boulevard and Greenback Lane where police arrested at least three people this weekend for incidents involving pushing, spitting and even pulling out knives. Police brought in extra officers to deal with the crowds.
The local CBS affiliate estimates that the intersection's crammed with about 300 people from both sides of the lavender line. If it's bad now, we can only imagine what's going to go down tomorrow.

Hopefully, the No on 8 people have enough sense to know not to engage these idiots + portray all of us in that negative light.
Let them go out + rant violently about something that doesn't even directly affect them. Meanwhile, we can calmly + rationally organize volunteers to encourage voters not to pass the prop.
fredo
that's no always the option. speaking from the black experience, if someone is pushing and shoving you, and you defend yourself, i don't think its fair to say that the no people should show restraint or to condemn them for being human. I also happen to think one of the problems with the gay movement is its lack of anything beyond apathy or treating its own rights like its optional rather than something that they are willing to get in the streets to fight for. you had to have a malcolm x so that people appreciated mlk.
Christians! Don't be fooled by a Mormon LDS trick! Save Christianity and vote NO on proposition 8! See http://Batyzim.com/ for the real, Christian, story.
BTW: The Mormons have been instructed by their leaders to deface and vandalize their own signs to make themselves look like victims. It's an old trick, and a shame the Media fell for it.
Didn't we have an earlier story about one of them vandalizing her own face? Now THAT'S a dedicated bigot!
