Ricky Martin Visits Haiti’s Vidas Locas

OH SNAP — Ricky Martin, on the ground last week in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, with Jonathan Reckford (not pictured), CEO of Habitat for Humanity, which the Ricky Martin Foundation regularly works with.

Martin and Habitat are promising the first 10 donors who give $1k or more “two VIP tickets to the concert of their choice on Ricky’s next world tour (located in first 10 rows), two meet and greet passes to say hello to Ricky before the show, and an autographed Habitat for Humanity hardhat.” In case you need a reason to give.

Ricki should just send money. They don’t need to clog up airplane slots with bleeding hearts right now. Doctors and nurses are having a hard time getting in.

Ricky is coming out with two albums and a book of “memoirs” later this year. So this nice humanitarian publicity comes in handily. The question is, how much out of his own checkbook did he give without having the cameras following him?

Every C and D-grade celebrity and disgraced politician is trampling Haiti with publicist in tow. This is a boondoggle for Non-profits like Red Cross who fill their Coffers but spend a nominal amount on Haiti Relief directly. USAid was a failure from the start and this will prove to be an International Katrina as the US Military was shut out during the first crucial days when more lives could have been saved. Wait until the proverbial shit hits the fan on where funds went and why so many had to die from infections. There should be a Congressional Inquiry into the lack of coordinating efforts of USAid and it’s inexperienced administrator! “Heck of a job Brownie” comes to mind all over gain as even Haiti celebrities decry the lack of U.S led organization weeks after the tragic earthquake.

The people of Haiti deserves every little bit of help they can get. Now would be a good time to reinvent the place and I don’t mean turning it into Miami. Celebrities A,B,C or D-listers should help, everybody should help. These people are our sisters, brother, mothers and fathers….ie. human beings.

That it assholes, pounce on a decent humanitarian who uses their ability to bring additional relief to those in need. Real classy. Maybe you guys should join Rush Limbaugh on his tirade that the whole earthquake thingy was just so Obama could look good. Dip shits.

No Mike, I am not as asshole for pointing out what anyone who has worked a disaster scene would tell you. It’s the wrong time for photo ops, the right time for money. they are in desperate need. It is VERY hard to get an airplane seat into there to help out, those spots need to be prioritized for medical and psychiatric workers.
