Katya triumphantly reemerges from hiatus: “The b*tch is back”

Katya is back, and fans of the Russian vixen are breathing a sigh of relief.

In January, Brian McCook (known the world over as Katya Zamolodchikova) made a big announcement: He was hanging up Katya’s wig for an unspecified amount of time.

Even with a career in rapid ascent — The Trixie and Katya Show, an extension of his hit web series UNHhhh costarring Trixie Mattel, had just been picked up on Viceland — McCook had good reason to hit the pause button.

A candid Tweet to fans revealed the performer was struggling with mental health and needed to address some issues before he could continue entertaining as Katya:

Katya then deactivated her Twitter account.

Meanwhile, the fate of The Trixie and Katya Show was uncertain. Bob the Drag Queen filled in to co-host with All Stars winner Trixie Mattel, but would the show manage without half its act?

Well nine months shy of 2019, Katya surprised everyone by popping back up on social media:

A day after the gaggery, McCook gave a more specific update:

It’s still unclear whether Katya will be back in front of an audience, or on her TV show before the clock strikes 2019, but we’d say this is a pretty good sign she will be.

We’re ready when you are, Katya!
