Just in time for Pride, IKEA has released a limited-edition rainbow version of its iconic blue Kvanting bag. The bags retail for $3.99 with 100% of the proceeds going to the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
If that’s not cool enough, IKEA has also announced that all its US stores will be flying the rainbow flag for the entire month of June in celebration of Pride.
In a statement, IKEA’s diversity and inclusion manager Rafael Fantauzzi said:
At IKEA, our culture is centered on the value of togetherness. We believe equality is a fundamental human right and that all homes are created equal. We know everyone deserves a home you absolutely love and a workplace where you can be yourself. To further show our commitment to equality and LGBT+ inclusion, on June 1, our co-workers will hoist the Pride Rainbow flag at all IKEA locations.
Naturally, people are losing their minds over all this…
How about we take this to the next level?

IKEA announced that it is partnering with @HRC to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month with limited-edition KVANTING shopping bag.
If you purchase the bag for $3.99, 100% of the profits go to HRCF’s programs supporting LGTBQ+ children and families.https://t.co/h8CeAIim07

I’m just glad that they’re using only the original colors and did not add the brown and black idiocy.
drwario
First, educate yourself on the original colors, which included hot pink and turquoise, before speaking poorly regarding the movement that called for the addition of brown and black. Understand the needs of marginalized groups, much like what our spectrum represents, before stating diversity and inclusion is idiotic.
JessPH
The whole flag is already a symbol of diversity and inclusion. Duh

I’m ready to drive the two hours in either direction to get to the nearest IKEA.
