it seems looks only get you so far as a youtuber. Sorry to say I’m so over Merridew and his real / fake / “who cares” relationship with Travis Bryant. Merridew claims to have moved to L.A… So, what? He made a special trip back east specifically so that he could include his mother in another Halloween video?

Never heard of him until today – and I’ve been watching his Youtube videos for, yes, for the last few hours. He puts out a hilarious mix of acid-tongued and self-deprecating humor and observations, with a smart, fun delivery. So disappointing to see so many haters out there. Why can’t people just enjoy his schtick??? And two points on a more personal level: first, I wish that (at any point in my life) I had been so at ease with myself to have been able to put myself out there as he’s been doing and, second, while he’s already adorable (in my eyes), he’s become even more so with each additional video that I watch. Keep it going, Jack. I’m a new fan!

A few more thoughts…Just watched 2 more of Jack’s videos: “I almost got beaten up” and “My struggles with body image.” This boy is smart and self-aware and, while most of his videos are more comedic and less message driven, that he can offer up wise advice and catchy story telling as well is another reason to look a little deeper before dismissing him.

I don’t think he’s witty, or smart, or humorous. He’s just another pretty boy seeking validation and YouTube fame for being pretty. If he wasn’t the typical slim twink, if he was average or ten pounds overweight and he did the same videos he wouldn’t be on this and other gay news sites.
