This just in: Tyler the Creator has apparently been soliciting his buddy Jaden Smith for d*ck pics.
In a new interview with Fantastic Man, Tyler explains: “I always tell people to send d*ck pics when I hang up, because it’s so awkward. Like, what the f*ck did you say?”
So, really, it has nothing to do with Jaden. Tyler signs off on every conversation by saying “send d*ck pics.”
And all this time we thought we were special.

Tyler also opened up about his sexuality in the interview, after maybe probably coming out in the song “Garden Shed” on his 2017 album Flower Boy.
In the song, Tyler croons:

When asked about the lyrics and what they might say about his sexuality, Tyler tells Fantastic Man, “It’s still such a grey area with people, which is cool with me. Even though I’m considered loud and out there, I’m private, which is a weird dichotomy. The juxtaposition of loud and quiet is weird.”
He continues, “It’s a literal question and the thing about humans is we hate not having an answer. We hate not being in the know. So people will bullsh*t answers, make shit up, instead of being just, like.”
“I don’t know. There are some things that are just unexplainable.”

Tyler reminds me of a lot of guys I’ve met and/or dealt with over the years. There are some dimensions and contradictions and self-destructive instincts. However, he seems to be aware of preferring male attention and affection and perhaps only having substantial, persistent passion and romantic feelings towards dudes. But because he may not be 100% inherently homo, may still be dealing with external and internalized homophobia on a daily basis, and may feel that “gay” and identities in general are demeaning and overly political- it’s created a constant battle with his ego. Also, the dude clearly gets off on playing games and shocking people. But if he’s going to continue to use this stuff in his “art” and in his persona he does need to evolve his routine beyond minor one-liners and gags.
I do agree that if you haven’t comprehended the nuances of yourself, have never been in a legit relationship, don’t really know what you want and are still dealing with certain personal frustrations and resentments then trying to be “out and proud” is rather phony and forced.

I’m not a fan of either. Both stay chasing headlines. While Jaden in particular has no relevance or talent beyond his parents. He’s not even particularly charming, clever or interesting. But I don’t it’s fair to dismiss them as “freaks”. There’s a lot of people out there that would probably think you’re a freak. And you never know what someone is going through and what they’ve been through. And it indeed can take a while to grasp who you are and what you want, the difference between attraction and passion, infatuation and love, love and romantic fulfillment, comfort and emotional contentment. It’s important to keep having conversations about this stuff instead of merely pushing identity. Though yes, Tyler clearly likes playing games for the sake of it.
