We know you’re dying to get deeper inside Nick Jonas‘ character in the new DirecTV drama Kingdom, so here’s a special behind-the-scenes feature in which Nick talks about prepping for his debut lead acting role (because we’re not counting Camp Rock).
In Kingdom, Nick plays a young up-and-coming MMA fighter. He’s previously teased the character as being potentially gay, definitely nude, and having some sort of sexual identity crisis, a process that will more than likely involve some steamy gay sex scenes.

Anyway, I’ll try and keep an open mind, it is hard to not be overly critical when singers start acting (or when actors get into music industry). But honestly even if there is a gay twist to his character, it doesn’t seem like something i’d probably watch and i even like MMA.

For me it’s not gay. Just playing to get the attention … because he knows that boys are elsewhere prettier than he is … it’s just an actor, actor for themselves, which must be cautious in its own image. Gay that he will not, he wants the woman’s hands away.

I’m sure at least one character in Kingdom will be gay/bi. The subject matter with athletic characters on TV has been drawing a bigger audience and spreading like wild fire lately.
