GAYS IN HOLLYWOOD

Who Will Be The Next Celebrity To Come Out Of The Closet?

As the cover story in last week’s Entertainment Weekly reinforced, it’s a different world out there for gay celebrities: We’ve seen Matt Bomer, Zachary Quinto and Jim Parsons come out to little or no controversy. Heck, even American Idol and The Voice alum Frenchie Davis just came out in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Of course that doesn’t mean that Tinseltown’s closet doors are being flung open en masse. Depending on a star’s place in the Hollywood firmament, coming out could be a risky gambit—or at least they think it would be. Over the past few months, several stars—well, headline-makers at least—have been identified as gay in various media outlets.  (Gossip Girl‘s Chace Crawford and J-Lo boy toy  Casper Smart were just called out this past weekend.) Now, none of these people have come forward to acknowledge they’re indeed queer—and to paraphrase Tallulah Bankhead’s comment about Gary Cooper, they never sucked our cock—so we’re not gonna confirm or deny anything. But we are going to lay out the rumors and speculate the odds of them having a “Yep, I’m Gay” moment in the near future. Click through to find out who’s been rumored to be a Hollywood gay lately
Chace Crawford Back story: Aside from the fact that he spells his name “Chace” (puh-leez), Crawford has allegedly been spotted getting comfortable in the steam room at Equinox and was once linked to N’SYNC’s J.C. Chasez. More recently, an article in The New York Observer kinda sorta outed him:
“At a crowded movie premiere in Midtown recently, The Observer witnessed a young movie and TV star—a dashing young man who’s been involved with several starlets despite whispers about his close relationships with other men—sitting for the entire party in close conversation with a well-groomed gent, even as his co-stars circulated. As we passed, the plus-one stared us down, as if to say, “Step off,” or perhaps, “Don’t you dare write about this.”
The piece ended with the line:
“There’s also the simple matter of defusing the knowing laughter of a public that maybe just doesn’t care that much anymore. ‘If you’re in the closet,’ said [Lance] Bass, ‘you get made fun of more than if you just come out!’ If he’s in fact gay, that’s a lesson Chace Crawford—the dashing, engrossed young man at the premiere—may do well to heed.”
Odds Crawford will come out: 1 in 20. At 26, he’s still young enough to make the girls swoon, and score hetero romantic roles in films like What to Expect When You’re Expecting, which means coming out as a man’s man could hurt his career options.
Casper Smart Back story: After breaking up with babydaddy Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez started squiring around much younger backup dancer Beau “Casper” Smart. But fellow hoofer Joshua Lee Ayers has repeatedly tweeted the above photo of Smart, 25, telling J-Lo: “check out Ur boy @caspersmart … and his low key homo ways… Watch ur ass!” He later added: “I know what I know, Not love, a lot of business and public relations.” Lopez’ rep denied the allegation saying “Casper is not gay. These comments are born from envy and jealousy. It must be a slow news day.” Odds Smart will come out: 1 in 100. A professional dancer posing suggestively with a group of guys isn’t really a smoking gun (though what’s in Smart’s pants might be.) Even if he was gay, Casper copping to being on the DL would make Lopez look like either a sap or a publicity whore, neither of which would endear her to fans. This relationship isn’t gonna last forever, anyway, so we imagine in a few months Smart will go back to obscurity—where he can share war stories with fellow J-Lo ex Ojani Noa.
Merida from Brave Over Pride weekend, EW made the surprising suggestion that Merida, the ginger-haired heroine of Disney/Pixar’s latest fairy tale, Brave, might prefer the company of other girls:
“She bristles at the traditional gender roles that she’s expected to play: the demure daughter, the obedient fiancée. Her love of unprincess-like hobbies, including archery and rock-climbing, is sure to strike a chord with gay viewers who felt similarly “not like the other kids” growing up. And she hates the prospect of marriage — at least, to any of the three oafish clansmen that compete for her hand — enough to run away from home and put her own mother’s life at risk. She’s certainly not a swooning, boy-crazy Disney princess like The Little Mermaid’s Ariel or Snow White.”
Odds of Merida coming out: 1 in 90. As gay-friendly as both Disney and Pixar are, we can’t really see them revealing their latest princess is a baby dyke—especially since Brave topped $66.7 million in its opening weekend. But even as a crypto-lesbian, Merida sends a good message to little gaybies. As EW’s Adam Markowitz writers, “Her strength in the face of opposition and her urge to forge her own identity (or, as she puts it in the film, “to change my fate”) both have the potential to ring true for moviegoers of all stripes, rainbow or otherwise.” Image: Disney/Pixar
Queen Latifah Back story: The Queen has long been tagged as a friend of Ellen. She’s been spotted at gay clubs on both coasts and photos of her cavorting with her girlfriend on a yacht surfaced a few years back. Most recently, Latifah headlined Long Beach Pride, where she referred to the assembled queers as “my people.” Of course her publicists quickly followed up with a statement clarifying nothing about her sexuality should be inferred by that. Odds Latifah will come out: 1 in 4. A number of stars—including Ricky Martin and Clay Aiken—have tested the water with tepid denials and small gestures before making a big announcement that they are indeed a member of the tribe.
John Travolta The back story: Unless you’ve been living under a rock that doesn’t have Wifi, you’ve heard about the recent accusations of sexual misconduct against Travolta by several masseurs at high-end spas. But that’s nothing new: Over the years there’s been rumors of an affair with porn star Paul Barresi, that photo of Travolta kissing a male friend on a airport runway, and other items floated through the tabloids. Add in his Scientology connections and you’ve got… well, a ton of circumstantial evidence. Odds of Travolta coming out: 1 in 3,000. Unlike Neil Patrick Harris or Matt Bomer, Travolta has long been perceived as a family man, raising three children (including his late son, Jett) with actress-wife Kelly Preston. If he came out now, J-Trav wouldn’t just be a liar, he’d look like a world-class bastard for dragging Preston and the kids into his mess. If the lawsuits bring any substantial evidence of same-sex doings to light (which is unlikely), Travolta would probably just blame drugs, a vague sex addiction or the work of bad thetans.
Raven-Symoné The back story: A former child actress beloved by millions for her roles in The Cosby Show and That’s So Raven, the 27-year-old performer was recently linked to America’s Next Top Model contestant AzMarie Livingston in The National Enquirer:
Sources close to Raven say she’s gay and has shacked up with AzMarie Livingston, the androgynous beauty seen on America’s Next Top Model. The two are living together in Raven’s luxury $11,00-a-month New York City condo. She’s at a point now where she doesn’t care what her family thinks, and she’s in love with AzMarie. She’s a lesbian and wants to live that way.”
Odds Raven will come out: 1 in 2. This is actually a case where coming out could help a star: Symoné is currently earning some grown-up cred in Broadway’s Sister Act. If she was indeed a lesbian (or bi) sharing it publicly would further help the public see her as an adult, not that adolescent Disney star with the psychic powers and annoying catchphrase. Photo: Angela George
Barry Manilow Among the numerous revelations in his new memoir, The Truth Is Bad Enough: What Became of The Happy Hustler?, former escort Michael Kearns outs Manilow by referencing a yearlong affair he had with the “Copacabana” singer in the mid-Seventies. Granted this is not earth-shattering news, but then again neither were Liberace or Johnny Mathis, and our mom refused to believe they were gay. Odds Manilow will come out: 1 in 10. Barry’s main demographic is women of a certain age who don’t want to think about the sweet man crooning to them being one of “those” people. But if his popularity slacks enough, Manilow may try to get a  late-in-life boost from coming out, a la Richard Chamberlain.

Coming out as a Scientologist should be a lot worse for your career than being being gay.

  • FreddyMertz

The last one cracked me up! lol

  • jj

Where Zefron? Colton Haynes? Hugh Jackman? Joe jonas? he was just spotted with his new bf yesterday.

  • PJ

Pretty sure Anderson Cooper half outed himself on Kathy this week, or at least forgot he’s suposed to be straight when answering questions

  • Danny

That Hugh Jackman kiss with his wife on stage at the Emmy’s was tres awkward – you could practically feel the room sending the vibe “it ain’t workin’ dude”

  • EdWoody

@PJ: You mean the “bitch please” comment? That was hilarious. I do agree that he is in no way pretending to be straight, but I don’t believe he ever did. I do think he might not have been quite so open with anyone but Kathy, since those two are like totes BFFs.

  • Cam

“which means coming out as a man’s man could hurt his career options.”
    ____________________

No, which means that the burned out old gasbag bigots in Hollywood may ASSUME that he can’t be a leading man.

Also, How in the world is Jeremy Renner not on this list?! He’s been in multiple huge movies and here are a few items for the “Backstory”.

    1. Claims he is too busy for a girlfriend.
    2. Has lived with the same guy for years. They claim that they buy and flip houses together, but the last house they owned they lived in for YEARS. A long time to fix and flip.
    3. His former drama teacher mentioned off the cuff in an interview about meeting Renners boyfriend and what a nice couple they were.

  • EdWoody

Taylor Lautner, Luke Evans, Kellan Lutz…

  • Timmy S

Don’t forget Ian Somerhalder. I’m more shocked by Queerty’s admission, better late than never, that Bomer is out, and no snark!! Is Queerty evolving or is someone actually trying to establish some journalistic touches here?

  • David Ehrenstein

“Romantic leading man roles” are OVER. The last one of consequence was Leo in “Titanic.” Since then he’s treated such roles like the plague. Leading men of any consequence like Ryan Gosling aren’t interested in them. Meanwhile James Franco doesn’t seem to want to play anyone who ISN’T gay.

Dana Owens is NEVER coming out. Ignore her.

  • Red Assault

You really need to fire the girl who uses phrases like “come out of the closet” and “slutty” and “homosexual.”

    ______________

Can the Bomer fangirls ease it up? You all were constantly on here claiming the guy was out when he wasn’t. And now you are trying to rewrite history.

He finally came out, and good for him, but lets not pretend that he has been out for years. By doing that you steal away the importance of his actual decision to come out.

  • Cam

As for Taylor Lautner, I’m surprised he hasn’t come out. He seems like he isn’t even trying very hard to stay in.

As for Travolta…ugh, I just hope he stays in.

  • DrewNYC

Didn’t Raven come out but then she went back into the closet? Same with Queen Latifa?

  • Lefty

    My money’s on Clifton Webb…

  • Roxorz

Ugh… Modern day witch hunt. None of these people are really that relevant anyways outside of the last picture!

  • Cam

    @Roxorz:

How pathetic that you think being gay is so wrong and shameful that to merely wonder if somebody is gay is a witch hunt. You have some serious issues.

  • Barca

@PJ: i was at the taping…his comment to the lady to his right (the comedienne, not the hairdresser) that “it’ll never happen” was awkward to everyone in the audience. Either he didn’t find her attractive because she’s a bigger woman, or he didn’t find her attractive because she’s a she.

  • Roxorz

@Cam: Haha wow… You took a lot out of my small comment! I said none of those things. What I was referring to was the days of the witch hunt when people were making false accusations, throwing each other under the bus, “speculating” and feeling that “witches” needed to be exposed. We all know you’re the self-righteous troll tho so whatevs!

  • Cam

    _________________

And so once again… you think that asking if somebody is gay is “Throwing them under the bus”.

That sad part is, you don’t even seem to see that you are definitely self hating.

  • Roxorz

@Cam: “you think that asking if somebody is gay is “Throwing them under the bus” –ONCE AGAIN… you inferred something I didn’t write. I didn’t say asking if somebody was gay was throwing them under the bus. I was likening the media blitz’s of “are they gay” is similiar to the “SHE’S A WITCH” era.

LMAO… I come to these comment sections to post my opinions and read about others opinions. YOU on the other hand come to the comments to post your opinions, and make wild accusations at anyone who has a different opinion than you. GET A LIFE. If someone has an opposite view it’s ok to accept it and move on. Instead YOU take the self-hating route of condemning others. There’s more than one way for LGBT people to think. But I suppose I have wasted my words and given you what you want because I have wasted my time replying to your B.S. You will simply continue your trolling ways.

  • DouggSeven

A few of these are just wishful thinking – especially above with the Taylor Lautner and the Kellan Lutz claims (Taylor had a metting with a gay director, you know, someone who can get him a job, and Kellan is an underwear model – I am unaware they are all gay). Honestly people, life gets better when you just learn that not everyone wants to do you.

  • Baba Booey

@DouggSeven: You need to fix your gaydar.

  • Timmy S

@Cam: Not a fangirl, just stating the facts. Cam not talking about history. I am talking about the weeks that followed his announcement in Palm Springs where Queerty and AE ran snarky postings not admitting he was out which just proved embarrassing for both sites. He was clearly out, it trended round the world for a week but somehow Queerty failed to pick up on it either deliberately or stupidly and made it worse by posting bullshit posts questioning if he was actually out. He actually set the new standard for preferred outings.

  • Basch

@DouggSeven: Dude, my gaydar explodes every time I see Lautner speak, mostly when he’s not acting.

  • Trelin

I really don’t believe Raven Symone is gay…I think her response to the question about it was perfectly quaffed to invoke more curiosity, therefore more publicity.

I wish all the guys mentioned were gay. It would make the fantasy so much stronger!

  • jim

    they’re all gay

including zac efron, taylor lautner, justin bieber, ronaldo, chord overstreet……

  • M

    @Trelin:

While she may not be elusively gay, she’s in a relationship with the AzMarie and has been for a bit now.

@DouggSeven: You and I need to sit down and have a conversation.

@David Ehrenstein: Dana really isn’t going to do it, eh? Wow.

@jj: Hugh Jackman isn’t coming out ever. Efron possible–but not soon and Colton within the next few years.

  • Derek Williams

The weird thing is that as it becomes more and more unremarkable, a gay identity will become less newsworthy, and as a result may make the person’s orientation invisible again.

  • LadyL

@Timmy S: “A new standard for preferred outings”? You mean as quietly as possible, hoping very few people notice?
    *
Not that Cam needs assistance from me or anyone here, but I have to agree with him. It’s great that Matt Bomer now appears more willing to acknowledge himself as gay, at least to some media, and under certain conditions, but he has NOT always been out. That mention of his partner’s first name in Palm Springs was picked up practically everywhere online (but not, that I could tell, for broadcast) for a reason–because up to that point he hadn’t been talking. Suggesting otherwise is rewriting history. (And btw, pointing that out should not be seen as an attack on him.)

  • braddavid

The problem for a male “Leading Man” type star is, the powers that be think a female audience wouldn’t be able to sexualize the star, which would make for a very small box-office. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but there seem to be more and more women now who find Gay men hot. Overall, it’s largely a cultural issue, but it might change. ¿Quien sabe?

  • Doug MacKay

Having got more of life behind me than ahead of me what do I know other than history that I have lived through? Way way oh so way back Manilow and Bette Midler before either were famous used to do the floor or is that towel show at the Continental Baths in NYC. I am willing to believe it wasan’t Bette’s idea to perform at the Continental soooo that leaves our Barry as the decision maker. Maybe nobody has asked himif he is gay recently! In the movie The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel the Tom Wilkinson character says to Judi Dench ” I’m gay”. “Though thats more in theory now then practice”!

  • topsyturvy

@Barca: I took it that it was because she was a she. And it seemed like a lot of people got that?

  • Dixie Rect

JHO Bag’s slam piece Casper is not a celebrity.

  • OutMaturity

Interesting that Barry Manilow has “officially” not come out. I always thought that he had since his early days as piano player for Bette Midler.

    News to me I guess! : )

  • MarkY

    What about Bruno Mars?

  • cjc1414

You’re forgetting a lot of celebs. in the closet, like Sandra Bullock and George Cloney.

  • cjc1414

    Clooney

  • Dinodogstar

Barbara Bush is still the reigning queen of trans-women everywhere, pretty stealth back in the day…no doubt about it….

  • Dinodogstar

OK, George Clooney, hot as he is, ain’t gay peoples!!! This ain’t OZ, and wishing doesn’t make it so.. I wish the community would get of his back, or on it, if in the future he does switch teams….let it go

  • Dinodogstar

last one: the only people to be suspicious of in hollywood, as it has always been, are the MARRIED ones..

  • Dinodogstar

sorry, need to add this: it would be great if we valued socially and monitarily those LGBT people who have had the brass balls/ovaries to actaully put themselves “out” there, instead of us salivating in anticipation over the possiblity that a “Hugh”,”Jodie”,”Queen”,or a “Tom” might be gay, lesbian or bi..

  • Dinodogstar

The ” B ” in the alphabet soup of our community, isn’t there just to ‘be’; debate it all you want over brunch, but people can be legitimately bi, and ‘B’ in an authentic, opposite-gender relationship,,,shocking, but true!!!

  • Mcflyer54

    Why wasn’t Tyler Perry mentioned?

  • Dinodogstar

    @Lefty: like

  • Dinodogstar

Here’s a paln, rent a van with blacked out windows outside Howard Bragman’s home nad office,he’s that celeb handler who gently helps leads the fearfulstars out into the light….either that, or stake out the same massage parlors Travolta frequests…

  • Dinodogstar

    @Andrew: likey

  • Dinodogstar

    @Trelin: smart

  • Dinodogstar

Tyler Perry is fair game, and there’s no need to pussy foot around the issue–in my view the media gives a little extra sensitivity to African-American celebs, and he is as gay as Christmas in a Harlem Macy’s.. and way super-richer and way more imporatnt than the white media recognizes,..

  • Dinodogstar

re: the character ‘Merida’, that would be great, but hopefully the movie won’t be as disasterous as that one about ‘Tin Tin’– that character came out years ago, but was “in-ed” in the movie…

  • Dinodogstar

Barry Manilow is the (somewhat) more recent incarnation of Liberace’, if I spelled his name right..I have a fun Barry story (non-sexual), from when I was like 7 or 8,,, I’ll tell ya at bruch this Sunday…

  • Dinodogstar

sorry bout the typos, i am actuallly dyslexic..

  • Nat

    @Dinodogstar:

In what way? Herge never explicitly stated he was gay; in fact, I believe he denied it. And the movie never made any overt statements whatsoever about his sexuality: he was depicted as young man who lived in a flat with only his dog for a companion. There was no love interest at all; it was purely about the adventure. I think the viewer was left free to imagine whatever sexuality they wanted for the character, since it’s arguably uninteresting to the story.

  • Bomo Queebo

    Tim Tebow?

  • raisedsouth

Im completely fine with every single individual that was mention in this article except Tom Cruise and Ryan Seacrest, I do not care if they are gay there just gross now like your pretty in the sense like those dolls they sell on the shopping network a better model will come out in the next segment so please shut up Tom Cruise and Ryan Seacrest and just don’t do anything anymore I would rather the two of you work at Walmart, no not Walmart BestBuy go work there or at a bank yea a bank. And the girl from Brave really? I mean did you see her suitors? Only a Bear, Wolf, or Otter or maybe crackhead would want them as there suitor. Give the ladies a break they are beautiful and strong that’s how I like my females. And Matt Bomer and Chace hit me up we should talk and by talk I mean blindfold me and lets play some games involving handcuffs and food. Just sayin.

  • Phil

I would love to see Anderson Cooper and Zac Efron come out

  • Tomes

Remember the time the gay community use to protect each other? When what happend in the club stayed in the club.

  • vixlad

@FreddyMertz: mee too! LmFAO right now.

  • vixlad

    @jj: who was?

  • vixlad

@PJ: I agree. Does anyone know if kathy know about Anderson?

  • Rockery

All of them are gay, maybe not Raven Symone, not sure. Zac Efron, Taylor Lautner, and Joe Jonas are gay 100% so is Christiano Rinaldo, Daniel Craig and Kenny Chesney

I’m crossing my fingers for Taylor Lautner, Queen Latifah and Anderson Cooper to come out they would have the most impact and all seem likable

  • ThatGirl

@EdWoody: The one reason I could see Cooper not coming out is that he’s a working reporter that often travels to stories on location. Sometimes those stories happen in places where he could be in real danger/not allowed into the country for being out.

  • tim

I heard Neil Patrick Harris was straight.

(But really, the speculation is too much… we all hated it in high school, now we’re just doing it all over again. And by speculating so much we make it even harder for them to even consider coming out, which only perpetuates the feeling that it’s something that can’t be done.)

  • MorganParkerTaylor

So, is Chris Crocker a guy or a gal, or intersex? Would Chris qualify as a Hollywood celebrity again, with hits on iTunes, multiple magazine articles in print and online, and an HBO doc that plays until (Gender) Independence Day?

Facts are facts, he wasn’t out, and you all said he was. Then he happened to mention his partners name. He wouldn’t have been out but all the medial spread the word on it, and suddenly people like you start attacking all the media by one claiming he was always out, which is a lie, and two saying that repeating the announcement is somehow attacking him.

    Seriously, get over it.

  • LadyL

    @Dinodogstar: Excellent point.

  • LadyL

@Tomes: I think that belongs in the ” a little nostalgia can be a dangerous thing” category. Keep in mind that back then we had little choice but to protect each other because we could lose our jobs, liberty, families and even our lives if it were publicly known we were LGBT. And we are still dealing with closeted politicians who expect to be protected by us even as they promote policies and laws that hurt our communities.

  • LadyL

@vixlad: How could she not? As a wise woman once said, “What is she, headless?”

  • LadyL

@tim: I disagree, Tim. I think by speculating this way we actually make it easier for them to consider it’s time to come out or at least to realize that hanging onto the closet is not working for them. Almost all of the celebs who have come out, including Ellen, Rosie, Ricky, Clay and so on complained of feeling pressured or pushed by a changing culture to do so, yet acknowledged how much happier and relieved they were to finally put the closeted years behind them. (When Ricky Martin appeared on Oprah he said he finally told his handlers: “What part of ‘I can’t take it anymore’ don’t you understand?”)
And I dislike any suggestion that we’re somehow obligated to remain silent just because some people still can’t deal with themselves. For closeted celebs, it’s their management teams, their Scientology connections, their faux families and their own fears that convince them that coming out can’t be done–not us.

  • Moishe Aberson

I think John Travolta will come out as gay and so will Tom Cruise near the same time here.

  • Rob S.

The better question would be “Who cares?”. Does it really have any sort of impact on anyone other than maybe themselves? Really? Celebrities come out these days and nobody seems to bat an eye. I will concede, however, that the celebrities that have come out lately have not been a surprise to anyone.

  • Jason

Anderson Cooper is damn attractive for early 40’s and would be a classic masculine acting gay. Seacrest screams closet-case. Tom Cruise would probably be a Narnian (so in the closet he’s not willing to admit it)

  • Geoff

    @Lefty:

Actually made me laugh out loud! Perhaps no one else got it.

  • LadyL

@Lefty: …And Robert Wagner? Are they still together..? 😉

  • kremit

i think the jump that brave is a les because shes a tomboy that doesn’t want to be told what to do is just as offensive to tomboys everywhere that like boys. im for equality, but thats why im cheesed, claiming that all tomboys must be lesbian is like claiming that music theater performing males are gay, its generalizations that get turned into labels that are doing nothing to unite the world but are in fact continuing to segregate us apart.
also the jumps in logic are vast in this one. she a tom boy, maybe this is because she like physical activity and well there were no soccer teams back than, and well she doesn’t look like shes got the strength to toss a log. she does want to do silly princess things, maybe mostly because she is being forced to, and the same with the marriage, it wasn’t necessarily anything to do with her attraction to boys but that her mother neither asked her nor even mentioned it until the clans showed up for that day that she’d be forced into engagement to a man thats she’s never meet nor that she even had a say in choosing, heck she couldn’t even choose the contestants. this movie is about defying authority and being who you want to be while respecting the good intentions of your family

please EVERYONE let the least inclusive label you put on any of your communities be HUMAN

  • peter

i suspect that ‘outing’ is the power scientology holds over celebs like travolta and cruise. during the sceintology ‘auditing’ (interrogation) process, they find out everything about you, and use these disclosures to keep you in the fold. it’s entirely possible that either of these stars admitted to some bi-curiosity, and the ‘church’ plays the ‘gay’ card ever so often to remind, or perhaps to blackmail them. i know this sounds extreme, but i know people who have left scienetology and would support this hypothesis. this isn’t to say that they’re not gay, only that the malicious hand of scientology has to be considered in evaluating these rumors.

  • fahima

It’d be cool to see an actual LGBT disney story, but why take being a tomboy/defying gender norms as indication being gay? I am all of the above and not gay, and feel a bit slighted. Gender norms suck. You don’t have to be genetically gay to realise that.

  • kendoll

Just because Anderson knew in a flash which was the biggest motion picture musical of all time (Grease) does not mean he’s gay, girls!

  • marc conder

great gossip as a whole, but please, in the name of all the good and holy! never Tom Cruise! The man is mentally ill, and his co-conspiriter,(my pun) the other evil scientologist! Lock them both up in John Revolting’s secret hair room, and let them play dress up until the Thetans arrive.
Ok, got that off my chest, shall I ring for Perez Hilton to bring us a nice new refreshment?

@Rob S.: I hear you that it’s not as big a deal when celebrities come out of the closet. The only problem for someone like Ryan Seacrest (if it’s true), is he’s been pretending so hard to be straight. The public won’t like that one bit.

What’s really sad is that most of you, if not all of you seem to be concerned with these complete strangers personal lives and are completely prepared to debate and even argue with other strangers over these strangers about what you are convinced you know about them. Wishful thinking. Not to mention you all seem define yourselves as being gay. GAY GAY GAY. GAY THIS AND GAY THAT. That is just one aspect of me. I am 24, yet I have always known that. You should really reconsider your priorities in life if this is a normal pass-time for you. Also, the going back and forth arguing with one another is really immature and highly obnoxious to happen upon. Grow up already and stop thriving off of online drama.

    >Unlike Neil Patrick Harris or Matt Bomer, Travolta has long been perceived as a family man<

?!?! This statement perpetuates the hoary stereotype that all gay men are shallow, self-absorbed hedonists incapable of settling down with a family. NPH and MB are both loving family men, happily raising kids with their partners.

Ryan Seacrest freely admits (or even brags) that he was mentored by Merv Griffin. Griffin who was gay himself was known to take young good looking men under his wing – so to speak – and aid them in advancing their careers. How they were expected to show their appreciation is anyone’s guess but to discount the obvious is probably a mistake.

@EdWoody: Luke Evans has been out since before forever, and has never hidden it. No secret there at all – but his roles center around the UK where no one gives a duck about who or what you sleep with. It’s also important, however, that he doesn’t make a big deal out of it.

    @Josh: Agreed!

I’ll have to restate my usual rant here! I don’t mind speculating on who is gay and when are they coming out. My beef is for those rumored to be gay, always come out with disclaimers that they are not gay, but, in fact, str8 as an arrow! They do the PDA thing (with a female, natch!) and soon are hooked up with a ‘beard’. Some even get engaged and married. More recently, it is happening in sports! The NFL must have a dating bureau for their ‘suspect’ players (some who are icons) and as soon as the rumors start, bingo: he is doing the PDA thing with some sex kitten or C+ actress looking for A+ recognition! In other words, the subterfuge and lies they use to keep this image they have of themselves, alive and well. Like Matt Bomer, say nothing, let them speculate all they want –at least they don”t create a falsehood! Just say’en.

Wow… Anderson Cooper came out publicly months ago… where you people been?

  • Dinodogstar

still thinkin Robin Roberts might be coming out, I guess aparently with the whole lineup of the other morning show cast…had thought she was goingto spill the beans on her Diane Sawyer interview. She professes to be a person of faith, which I fully support, and doesn’t mean she couldn’t be bi or lesbian, so I am curious how she will explain her viewpoints.

Insinuating that John Travolta is gay???? Shame on you!!!! Next you’ll be claiming that Rock Hudson and Liberace were gay. As far as Tom (not worth) Cruising—I hope to God he NEVER admits he’s gay. What an embarrassment that would be to the LGBTQ community.

  • BlogShag

I don’t understand why people care so much if a celebrity is gay or not. I just don’t get it. Are you going to fuck them, plan on marrying them? What is it about?

  • Linkin Tee

A think you guys need to keep up with whose already come out as gay. Raven Symone came out on twitter, she tweeted something like “Now I can marry” after gay marriage was allowed in some state.

  • tricky ricky
