“The ideal visit would see…” is an unsigned memo circulating Britain’s Foreign Office about how Pope Benedict’s upcoming visit to the country could be bettered by his “blessing a gay marriage, sponsoring a network of AIDS clinics, launching a range of ‘Benedict’ condoms, drop the church’s opposition to same-sex couples being able to adopt, open an abortion ward, do forward rolls with a group of children to promote healthy living, and launch a helpline for abused children.” Apparently satire is not understood at the Vatican, as British officials rushed to apologize to the Holy See.
