Justin Bieber turned down a movie role over a gay sex scene that would have seen the singer playing a pop star who hooks up with his male backup dancer, reports Page Six.
The film, titled Uber Girl, is described as a coming of age story for millennials, which is making the rounds as a movie treatment, represented by Lighthouse Entertainment LA with Cinema Epoch looking for a major studio to co-produce.

“He won’t take the part unless the sex scene with him and one of the male backup dancers is taken out of the final script,” said co-writer Pete O’Neill.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
A representative for Bieber has responded, telling Gossip Cop that he was never in talks to do the film and that there is “no truth” to reports otherwise.
O’Neill told Page Six he also wants to cast Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande and Kiernan Shipka, made famous for her role as Sally Draper in “Mad Men.”

On the topic of homosexuality, Bieber was quoted in a Rolling Stone interview in 2011 as saying, “It’s everyone’s own decision to do that. It doesn’t affect me and shouldn’t affect anyone else.”
More recently, in 2015, he posted a video to Instagram where he nearly kissed his male security guard on the cheek and captioned it, “I’m not gay.”
“But even if I was that’s not an insult,” he added.
He paid tribute to the victims of the mass shooting in Orlando at the LGBT nightclub Pulse at his concert in the city shortly after the incident.

The role will probably be played better by someone else anyway. Not a Bieber fan at all.

Who in the hell cares.

“which is making the rounds as a movie treatment” …
and how much stuff is there out there “making the rounds as a movie treatment”? Even projects in development with stars attached to them never get made.
This project is using a celebrity’s name to get free press and they don’t even have the decency to just say Bieber turned down the role.
MarionPaige
Maybe Justin Bieber had to turn down the role because he’s going to star in The Joey Stefano Story. Isn’t that project also “which is making the rounds as a movie treatment”, going on about 20 years now?

I’m shocked anyone fell for this tabloid rubbish. Why would Bieber go up for a role he knew called for a gay scene(s), then demand to change the premise? It makes no sense.
It’s far easier to believe, like the million other bunk Bieber stories peddled in the rumormill, that Page Six wanted some easy traffic. I mean, it’s all so vague. No other actor appears to be cast and Bieber doesn’t have much acting experience, so who is even the draw. The whole thing sounds like clickbait.
Btw, Bieber’s caption to the Instagram video linked here was his response to homophobic trolls who were insulting him because of his posting. And in his interview with Complex magazine last year, when asked about his faith (as one of many qustions), he said, “I think that everybody should get their chance to share what they’re doing or where their journey is headed, whether they’re straight or gay or what they believe in. We’re in a place now in 2015 where people have gotta be open-minded.”
Bieber’s beautiful tribute to the people who died at the Pulse club in Orlando at his later show in the city earlier this year was also very touching. I’m saddened by some of the undertones to some posts I’ve seen on this story. First, because, no-one would say a word about a woman who refused to do nude or sex film scenes with a woman or man, and if they did, the chatter would be about freedom, consent, etc. And, second, because this story’s a tabloid click-chaser, so it’s unfair Bieber is even in it.

Sorry about typos.

@MarionPaige: It would never see the light of day. Stefano had regular clients like David Geffen.
Me2
I don’t blame him. Too many people have a hard time separating reality from fiction/fantasy and will forever brand him as being gay.
redcarpet30
ya know, as unlikable as he is, he’s got a fine body!
Xzamilio
Well, I never thought I’d have more than two Justin Bieber songs on my MP3 player, but 2016 has just been a year of new ones for me.
Bob LaBlah
I feel sorry for this kid. Think for a minute: when was the last time you heard anything about him that didn’t have a gay slant? The same with Nick Jonas.
Considering how Rihanna, Beyonce, Miss Patty Labelle, Niki Minaj and a slew of others whose music bursts from the speakers of just about all gay clubs across the country but to this day have yet to open their mouths about what happened in Orlando I thought it considerate of him to do so.
Sluggo2007
@Bob LaBlah: If Beiber and Jonas would stop using the gay agenda to further their careers, they wouldn’t have to be worried about being labelled. I predict that they’ll both come out as soon as their careers are on the wane.
Mr.Tim
If he turned the move down or asked for changes actors do it all the time what’s the big deal? Sadly it makes the NEWS on Queerty.
@Bob LaBlah Beyonce dedicated Halo to the families of the victims at her Detroit concert. Anyway, we don’t need every single celebrity to weigh in when a tragedy occurs. Look at the backlash Madonna got for trying to show sympathy.
@Sluggo2007 What the fuck is wrong with actively seeking out gay fans? Are you butt hurt at Matt Bomer or Neil Patrick Harris for “pandering” to straight fans?
Invader7
He’s a no talent auto-tuned hack. No one wants to pay $$$ to see him “act”.
Ari Gold
@Invader7: Justin Bieber isn’t auto-tuned. Do you even listen to his music or are you throwing out a generalized pop singer hate stereotype?
surreal33
A talentless DOUCHE who panders to the gay community. We deserve better!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mikah92
Couldn’t care less about this,or Justin Bieber, but I just wanna say that LGBT actors and actresses play straight roles literally all the time. It’s pathetic and homophobic for a straight actor to reject a Gay role, just because it’s Gay.
SteveK
@Mikah92:
Bieber wasn’t approached about the role. His rep made a statement days ago. The story appeared in the New York Post, which is a tacky tabloid known for publishing rubbish. If you read the article again, Queerty state that Bieber’s rep said he wasn’t asked to play the part. Regardless, if a straight person doesn’t feel comfortable playing a gay role, that does not make them homophobic, it means they are uncomfortable. They should be free to not do the role, which then makes it available for someone who wants it.
SteveK
@surreal33:
Apart from the fact that Bieber wasn’t actually approached about the role, just going by the fake story’s own narrative for the moment, how does NOT taking a gay role PANDER to the community?
Ken A.
People trying to demonize this guy. Not a fan of his bubble gum music, but I’m not going to demonize him or join the Hate Bieber brigade.
Michael1500
My god, who gives a rat’s ass?

@Dave Downunder: he is totally gorgeous you can not deny that
