McCain's Daughter & Campaign Manager Will Address GOP Gays

"John McCain’s daughter, Meagan McCain is scheduled to speak at the gay Log Cabin Republican Convention this April. Her seminar will be titled as follows: 'Losing the Next Generation—How can the Republican Party attract more young voters?' Oh, by the way, McCain’s campaign manager Steve Schmidt will also be speaking. His topic? Here’s how it is listed in their convention agenda: 'Moving Forward—Steve Schmidt, John McCain's campaign manager, discusses the campaign and the Party's path forward.'" [CBN]

Ok I'll say it. Of course she is. That girl has hag written all over her and if she can find some gay repubs all the better in her mind. Does anyone else remember the boy who was her "friend" that was with her all the time, her friend?, I'm not sure if he was along to chat or do her hair or makeup, but come on.

If I had to guess, I would say that her positions are fairly moderate on gay rights. Every interview she did, you could almost see that she wanted to say it, but deferred that "it wasn't about her opinion".

The only thing worse than having to listen to some peoples opinions is those that don't have the balls to give their opinions.

It's really quite simple. If you want to get younger and gay voters, quit being a bunch of homophobic assholes. Believe it or not, not all gays are a bunch of bleeding heart liberals. Many of of us work hard for our money and are not fond of seeing our tax dollars go to bail out people who make bad, irresponsible choices. We want to see al-quieda and terrorism destroyed. We want to see laws that are very tough on crime. The thing is, most Republicans are in such a rush to appease the Christian right, that we're not left with any choice but to hold our nose and vote Democrat even though all they do for us is pay lip service. If there had been a Republican candidate who refused to be a pawn of the Focus on the Fucktards and use homophobia to get votes, I'd have been happy to vote for them because just as I thought, Obama is so far batting a big fat zero.

@geogg – from a proud, bleeding heart liberal, socialist, pink limousine liberal – who gladly pays his high taxes both here and in gasp – Sweden (socialism!!), just wanted to tell you I agree with you. Once the republicans move away from the christian right and realign their cultural positions, we on the left will have a much harder fight. Fortunately for me, unfortunately for you it doesn't seem that time is going to be anytime soon. :-) :-(

@Sebbe: Sebbe, you're right on that last part of your statement, but I refuse to give up hope. One year I truly believe I'll actually get to vote for someone I want to be President instead of voting for the lesser of two evils.

Meagan McCain " My own dad helps legislate my rights away but listen to me I'm a role model" Most people who are die hard Republicans don't support gay marriage that's a fact.
If you don't want to pay taxes go to the 3rd world there are plenty of places were your taxes will be almost non-existent of course there will be no police, fire trucks, schools etc. We live in the best country in the world(in my opinion) and it costs money to run it.
If you don't want to pay taxes move. We live in relative luxury compared to most of the world stop complaining about paying to maintain it. Jeez

@geoff:

Perhaps you should look at your usage of the term "bleeding heart" in a derogatory way, and then ask yourself why conservatives don't tend to "tolerate" gays & lesbians.

First off I never said I didn't think I should have to pay taxes. I'm well aware money to pay for infrasructure, defense, education,etc. all has to come from somewhere. My point was taxpayers should not have to bail out irresponsible people and businesses, and believe me I know that there is plenty of blame for our current financial crisis to be placed in both parties. Having said that, I believe the people who made these mistakes out of greed, carelessness,or irresponsibilitty should have to clean up their own messes,not do it on the rest of our backs.The people who should be helped are the people who wound up being the collateral damage in all this through no fault of their own. Secondly,"bleeding heart" is used as a derogatory term by the same right wing who assumes that most if not all gays are liberals and thus would never vote for them anyway. Bad assumption. If the Republican party can actually field a candidate who'll actually stand up for our civil rights (I know, but face it Obama couldn't care less about us either)and tell the Christian right where to stick it, they might actually become relevant again, but, Seebe is right in that it probably won't happen any time soon.
