So, what do sleazy Hollywood dad Michael Lohan and sleazy Girls Gone Wild honcho Joe Francis have in common?

Well, yes, they're both sleazy - that's obvious - but there's more than just that: both men hate DJ Sam Ronson, Lindsay Lohan's lesbian girlfriend.

Mr. Lohan lashed out at Ronson earlier this year, calling her "hideous" and taking on her hygiene habits. Francis doesn't care about Ronson's cleanliness, but does have some less than kind words for the 31-year old, whom he describes as "very jealous:" "Samantha tried to start a fight with me. I care about Lindsay - she's not gay. She's being controlled by this…wretched woman, this Samantha."

A Swedish kennel owner refused to sell a woman puppies because she's a lesbian. Pussy cats we can understand, but dogs? Crazy! A judge thinks so to - he ordered the man to stop being such a prick and pay about $2500 in fines. [Pink News]

Things are about to get more difficult for Malaysia's lesbians.

The nation's top Islamic council told the press this week that they're keeping an ever-vigilant - and repressive - eye out for lesbians and tomboys, who, they say, are forbidden sinners:

The National Fatwa Council issued the edict following what it said a spate of cases involving young women behaving like men and indulging in lesbian sex, the Malay language Berita Harian daily said.

"There are teenage girls who prefer the male lifestyle including dressing up in men's clothes," it quoted council chairman Abdul Shukor Husin as saying. "More worryingly, they have started to engage in sexual activities."

This begs the question - if a girl likes girls but doesn't act on it, is she still a lesbian. Yeah, chew on that!

Of all the people we've interviewed over the years, Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum's one of the most inspirational. And awesome.

A spunky, socially aware New Jersey native, Kleinbaum currently presides over New York's queer-inclusive synagogue, Congregation Beth Simchat Torah.

Aside from her Orthodox upbringing, Kleinbaum cites her background in Yiddish literature as one of the reasons why she chose to become a rabbi.

Said the jarringly young looking 49-year old:

I actually first seriously started considering Rabbinical school while I was teaching Yiddish literature. I thought I could teach Yiddish literature to a community without a religious background, but ultimately Yiddish is so infused with Judaism that it’s really hard to really deeply understand Yiddish just as a language, because it isn’t simply a language: it was embedded deeply in a culture, and that culture included Judaism, and you can’t parse them out without bleaching out from all of them really the power of what they are.

Now, years on, Kleinbaum uses her position and moral authority to fight injustice, like anti-gay legislation. In fact, the good Rabbi found herself behind bars last year for a Times Square protest against Don't Ask, Don't Tell, which prohibits openly gay Americans from serving in the military.

Our editor recently headed over to CBST to chat with Kleinbaum on the nature of religion, how she reconciled her faith with her lesbianism, Sarah Silverman's "Great Schlep" and why religious leaders must talk politics.

Read all about it, after the jump…

In honor of their 150th anniversary, British lady mag Diva published this handy map of lesbian hot spots across the United Kingdom, which are shown in red. And that data rocked the region's Sapphic foundations:

The near-even spread of lesbians across the UK was not what Diva predicted.

Lesbians appear to be almost everywhere and a lot more thinly spread than we might think: most UK postcodes house between 0.2% and 1% of the lesbians in this survey, and it’s only in cities that upwards of 2% of the survey’s lesbians are found.

“The academic literature suggests that the lesbian population is not as concentrated [in major centres] as the gay male population,” said Darren Smith, an expert in the geography of population, at Brighton University.

It's all part of the plan, see? The gays hit hard in urban areas, while the lesbians fan out and begin nesting for the final phase of the revolution. Alright, team, back to the drawing board!

(Note that the lesbians have taken over all of Ireland. Well done, lasses!)

Lesbian journalist Emily Hartl has had about enough of being labeled as unstylish simply because she likes labia.

And she's taking to AfterEllen to vent her sartorial rage:

According to most of America, gay boys are the only homosexuals who possess any taste when it comes to styling or interior decorating. We gay women have been branded as handy, conventional — even frugal.

While I don’t mind many of the labels associated with my gayness, I am understandably offended when lumped into the category of being unfashionable.

Harlt goes on to prove she's into trends by offering some green style tips, like turning t-shirts into rags. Because even the most fashion-forward lesbian loves to nest.

» Lohan's Public Displays

According to the NY Post Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson were seen passionately kissing for "at least half an hour" at New York's Beatrice Inn. Lohan has also been seen recently wearing an engagement ring. I'd like to get an invite to that wedding!
