So far it’s been a rocky week for Colton Haynes: He lost thousands of dollars after his Hollywood Hills home was burglarized.
But what’s really upset him is the media’s coverage of the crime.
As Pink News reports, Haynes claimed on SnapChat that “even though someone broke into my house and stole a bunch of stuff, that’s not going to get me down.”

Gossip site TMZ leapt on the story, which displeased Haynes — as demonstrated by this follow-up Twitter post:
My home was broken into a few days ago & alot was stolen. I am ok. I don’t understand why it’s necessary that my personal info is on TMZ

..OUCH!!!

Oh dear, I sincerely hope his nudes don’t leak.

If people stop talking about you (e.g., Queerty) Colton you will cease to exist.
At least to me.
Evji108
Come on guys, he deserves a bit of human compassion and consideration just like we all would like. Not necessary to be so petty.
carrokid
You’re right @Evji108, I couldn’t help myself at the moment.
RIGay
On the bright side, he and Kim Kardasian now have something to talk about when they are getting their butts waxed.

@Evji108: No he doesn’t this shithead used to sue anyone who would talk about his sexuality even though it was common knowledge and he had gay pics posted on the cover of a magazine. Being in the closet is one thing but sending your lawyers after people for sharing publicly available information is absurd.
MacAdvisor
maxxbot: Please cite by case name, case number, and jurisdiction any lawsuit filed by Mr. Haynes against someone for discussing Mr. Haynes’ sexuality. As a public figure, he is covered by the New York Times Co. v. Sullivan, 376 U.S. 254 (1964), decision that requires a showing of actual malice in order to recover. Any suit he may have filed would also be covered by California’s strategic lawsuit against public participation (SLAPP) and be tossed rather quickly. Thus, I have grave doubts he ever wasted his money on such suits, suits he would lose quickly and decisively.
I hope he had sufficient insurance to cover his loss and I wish him well in recovering from this violation of his personal space. Having been robbed myself, I understand how he might feel. Perhaps, in addition to his cute cat, he may want to consider a dog.

You’re right that the lawsuits probably would have failed but his lawyer successfully intimidated these people out of posting totally public information, it’s very unethical.
maxxbot
The lawyer also described the pictures as “lewd, obscene, and pornographic” when it was just pictures of men kissing with no nudity, that were on the cover of a widely distributed magazine.

@carrokid …O.M.G…how dreadful that would be.(wink) Who would do this to Colton? A man with skin as soft as a baby dolphin.
Keebler ILF
He’s wayyyy to active on social media telling everyone when he’s away from home, and showing off the contents of his house. I would miss it if he stops snapchatting and instagramming, but he really should be more careful. I wonder if he even had a security system installed yet.

@Evji108: Agreed. I feel bad for the guy. I hope he can find acting work without having to be a gay poster boy forever. We should support him and instead of bring him down.
Jack Meoff
It must become tiresome to have every personal aspect of your life reported in the media. I understand why he would feel frustrated. On another note I seriously can’t get used to some of the Americanisations of the English language such as using burglarized instead of burgled. Sounds weird and made up.
Hank
He should be more concerned in getting relevant work. Thus, he would be more representative of the gay community and would not be treated as a socialite as he is.

@maxxbot:
So, contrary to your statement (“used to sue anyone”), Mr. Haynes didn’t sue anyone. He never so much as filed a case. A letter from his attorney was sufficient to convince the party to withdraw the material. Given such rabid capitulation by a publication, who has a very strong legal position, one could likely conclude they didn’t really have the right to publish them. Moreover, you suggested this was a pattern and practice of Mr. Haynes, whereas this appears to be an isolated instance from more than five years ago. Lastly, the matter was about rather sensational photographer, not someone discussing Mr. Haynes sexual orientation. So, as far as I can tell, you were completely wrong.
I don’t suppose you plan to apologize to Mr. Haynes for you defamatory statements, do you maxxbot?
joe
ugh i would hate being a celebrity, everywhere you go everything you do everyone noticing you ..that has to be maddening

That’s what insurance is for. I question the legitimacy of this story though since you can literally find a good quality tv on the street in West Hollywood at the end of every month. Decent furniture too if you’re not worried about possible bed bugs.
Stealing a lower end actor’s junk seems rather silly considering so many of them toss it all out on the street as soon as they get their first big gig. Then again stealing is silly anyway.
Sukhrajah
Poor Queerty – now, Colton (justified in not wanting to be in the very public eye that literally steals from him, and then blasts it on TMZ) will likely be less and less public now (which is a smart move, and as he grew – this was expected) Queerty’s source of non Pink News material will take such a significant hit.
All jokes aside – Colton, it’s just things. You’re handsome, young, talented, and can afford to replace it. Hire some security, take a self-defense course (good cardio…) and curate your online presence better.
Laugh on them, with the next role – and the next paycheck.

I don’t know who is except on here, but I take it you guys don’t like him. I don’t read the articles about him but read the comments. Lol. Same with any kardashian press release, oops, I mean news.
DCguy
So again, a network show with an out gay actor comes back on TV, no posts. But ANY excuse to put up ANOTHER post about the guy who used to threaten to sue anybody who said he was gay. Siiigh.
It’s sad when the personal crushes push aside things that are actually helpful to the LGBT community.
