Read his article @ the link, and he’s absolutely right…But the Iraq situation is a mess in so many ways, for gays, for women, for everyone…it’s like “where do we even begin” to clean up this crap?…I have to admit, I feel pretty powerless to help gays halfway across the world deal with the ABSOLUTELY INSANE torture and persecution they face…(once again, mostly caused by religious fueled intolerance)
And yet, global GLBT issues should be on our radar, the motivations and origins for violence against GLBT’s in any country are all similar, but certainly vary in intensity. That is some F*ucked-up shit going down in Iraq, and should be getting more mainstream press coverage.
To my fellow “team gays”, keep speaking our truths, keep reaching out to friends and allies, and calling out homophobic bullshit wherever it shows it’s ugly face.
