Aussie heartthrob Hugh Sheridan, known for their leading roles in the show Packed to the Rafters and its sequel series Back to the Rafters, just revealed a long-term relationship that spent nearly a decade under wraps.
In an interview on The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show, the star opened up about their identity, their personal life, and a nine-year-long marriage to an apparently well-known entertainer.
“I can’t say their name because they were in the same industry, so. Couldn’t really be specific about that, but I was married,” Sheridan says.
“We were solidly together for about seven, and then the last couple we were traveling a lot and it got too hard,” they explain, adding, “We’re still very good friends.”

While they kept most of the details redacted — including the ex’s identity — they detailed that they’d gotten married all the way back in July of 2011.
Sheridan has spoken for a couple years now on their identity as, as they put it in a since-deleted Instagram post, “nonbinary/bi/me/Hughman”. Even with opening up about their queerness, they’d still chosen to keep this huge past relationship close to their chest.
“I think privacy is personal,” they say. “I think most people should be entitled to it.”

News of a secret long-term relationship as recent as 2020 comes as a shock to many fans, as the actor was publicly engaged again by early 2021.
The engagement with influencer and model Kurt Roberts was seemingly a big catalyst for their coming out as Sheridan’s first big public relationship.
Roberts and Sheridan’s engagement was broken off in November of last year. The two seemed to end on good terms, though pictures of the two have been scrubbed from social media — including those related to Sheridan’s coming out.

If Sheridan’s remaining Instagram posts have anyone ready to be their next spouse in line, rest assured that they welcome it.
“I’ve gotta get married a few more times,” they joke. “There’s plenty more engagements to come, and I am definitely single. I can confirm that right now.”

Anyone else confused? They are married but they aren’t. But were…..
CatholicXXX
Same he’s not normal. This they them thing is a no-no.
Why is he referred to as an actor if he’s not a he? shouldn’t it be “actx?” ..to mirror the vile “latinx”
Osterfool
Seems like the pronouns thing is a major problem for some [males] and [females]. Personally, I think it’s different because I didn’t grow up with it but it doesn’t make my brain go into a major meltdown trying to figure out how to add the pronouns into conversation and I’m happy to accommodate.

Can’t say I blame any celebrity for maintaining as much privacy as possible. Complete transparency is great in theory, but there are so many nutcases out there that keeping total strangers out of your personal business is a necessity.
You’re all familiar with my favorite haiku:*
Circle small
life private
mind at peace
*I know it’s not a literal haiku, but I don’t know what else to call it, m-kay?

This would make more sense if they also didn’t just use a short relationship and engagement for press and attention and photo shoots. There was also very little point in bringing up the marriage, especially if you’re still trying to keep the other person’s identity secret.
No matter their dimensions, relationships, preferences, sexual journey, where they are in the gender, sexual, romantic, emotion, commitment spectrum, Hugh seems like someone almost completely driven by fame, validation and ego. They come off like a stunt queen through and through.

@Donston…I really wish this site had a “like” button for comments; because this was perfect and spot on. I have zero to add as I think you hit the nail on the head.

Your case for being closeted is weak. Please take your defeatism and shame elsewhere. This is a place for pride.
Godabed
to live in shame that long… I couldn’t even imagine it.

Genderqueer. Yawn.
inbama
Pretty enough but they is always a turn-off.
abfab
And you’re not.
Diplomat
Agreed. “they them, gender queer” pure psycho babble. Truly sick stuff.
Jim
gender queer??? you mean gay!
UlfRaynor
Hardly gay since we can easily establish that the person he was married to was a woman since same sex marriages weren’t legal in his country back in 2011.
Plus the fact he states he’s bi.
And don’t think to come for me because I didn’t call him “they”, he used singular pronouns in his responses and if its good enough for him its good enough for everyone else.
There are plenty of people in this world who are actually marginalized, I doubt seriously he counts as one of them just because he can list a litany of labels he chooses to self identify with.
FreddieW
He refers to himself as “I”, but you use plural pronouns. Makes for an utterly confusing read.
And those are hot pics, but since I’m gay and I can’t tell what gender he is, I’m trying not to be turned on. Being a gay man is somewhat important to me.
Ari
Exactly, cute pics but what a turnoff. Same with Nico Tortorella. I just can’t look at him the same now. Like, is that penis coming off at some point or what…

Ari
Too funny but very true.

Pretty on the outside; but, the history of shame and embarassment of being gay is a HUGE deal-breaker. A life built on lies and deception is rarely happy; I hope that they choose be part of our community – that this isn’t publicity for profit.
I wish that Charlie Gray would write inspirational stories based upon strength, perseverence and achievement. Our community thrives on open, honest and compassionate behaviors. Coming out in 2022 isn’t really news.

You never know what someone is dealing with from a traumas, mental health, insecurities standpoint. You also don’t know anyone’s dimensions, journeys, questioning, experiences with fluidity or contradictions, where they are in the gender, sexual, affection, romantic, emotion, commitment spectrum. I will say that Hugh definitely comes off messy, manipulative and narcissistic. Only claiming a non-binary identity a few weeks after the backlash of being cast as a trans male. Using a short gay relationship and engagement for press and attention while also still exuding gay shame. Talking about “privacy” but also telling us about a marriage we didn’t need to know about and letting us know it was with a “well known public figure”, thus making it much more easy to figure out who they’re talking about. Hyping up how they’re gonna get engaged or married many times as if that’s some type of accomplishment. They’re just very cringe.

“I’ve gotta get married a few more times,” they joke. “There’s plenty more engagements to come, and I am definitely single. I can confirm that right now.”
Let this be a red flag for anyone interested in something “serious” with this douche.
skeldare
He comes across as very insufferable.
UlfRaynor
Bingo! Got it in one concise sentence. Hell, you didn’t even need to spew an entire, pre-programmed, pre-approved invocation of gender studies psycho babble to accomplish it.
mateo
With what’s obviously a big schlong (if the photos are any indication, that is, and if they’re not photoshopped), I suppose he can afford to be insufferable. OK, call me superficial. It won’t bother me.
G R
Pretty but vapid

My god he’s packing some meat! And those thighs ! Too bad he’s not a porn star! Lol jk I’m
Not a bottom but I’m ready and willing for him !!

Growers vs. showers doesn’t account for fluffers. Unless it’s hard, it’s all supposition. Some hang loose and low and some have no hang but grow. In my limited experience, I’ve found suprise packages are part of the thrill. And once in the mood, size becomes unreal.
bachy
@Ronbo – you’re a poet and you don’t know it!

In 2009, Sheridan won the Logie Award for “Most Popular New Male Talent”. I wonder how they thought about that.
