Until the Bush administration came to power, Helen Thomas always sat in the first row at White House press briefings and as a courtesy, every President would call on Helen to ask the first question. If reporters aren’t allowed to speak, perhaps there’s nothing left to do BUT to heckle? In any event, I await the day in January 2009 when the next Democratic President will call on Helen to ask her question.
