Meet Mena Massoud.
The Hollywood newcomer was just cast to play Aladdin in Disney’s upcoming remake of the beloved 1992 cartoon musical. He’ll appear along side Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine and Will Smith as the Genie. Madonna‘s ex Guy Ritchie is set to direct.

The casting news came during the Disney D23 Expo in southern California, and people are already in a tizzy. Based on Mena’s smokin’ hot Instagram page, we can see why. We have to say, he’s pretty much the exact physical embodiment of our childhood cartoon crush.

I had the same thought. Guy Ritchie and Disney don’t seem to go together. Hopefully someone has sat him down and explained to him the concept of “suitable for families with small children.” Unless, of course, this turns out to be one of those movies where what’s on the screen and what was marketed are two different things.

I’m kind of surprised they’re not using one of the stars who appeared on stage at Disneyland. They only appeared there for 13 years and did an excellent job.

Cute guy. I would rather have just had a link to his IG instead of the series of photos, and maybe more of a write-up about who he is. Like, where is he from (in the US or overseas)? Has he acted before? Did he study acting and performing? Basic journalism, I guess.
