Video of Mitch McConnell falling recirculates after he immediately politicizes RBG’s death

Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell waited approximately two hours after the news broke that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had passed away to issue a statement saying the Senate would waste no time voting on a Trump nominee to replace her.

“President Trump’s nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate,” the 78-year-old Kentuckian affirmed.

It was an a**hole move, but not the least bit surprising given that this is Mitch McConnell we’re talking about.

Shortly after he put out that statement, an old video of McConnell tripping on stage began recirculating on social media.

The video was recorded during a campaign event in 2014 and shows McConnell falling on his way to the podium while his wife, Elaine Chao, watches and doesn’t bother helping him up until after several others rush forward to assist.

Normally, we would say that it’s not nice to take pleasure in someone falling in public… except when that person has actively worked against LGBTQ rights for the past 30+ years, lodged racist attacks against President Obama for eight years, is doing everything he can to take healthcare away from millions of Americans, has given Donald Trump free rein to do whatever the hell he wants, and totally dishonored Ruth Bader Ginsburg mere hours after she died.

Then it’s just called Karma.
