No shade to Bing Crosby, but after hearing BeBe Zahara Benet’s new cover of “Little Drummer Boy”, it’s safe to say this Christmas classic has reached its apex.
The Drag Race season one winner and All-Stars season 3 finalist gives the otherwise-sleepy song the musical equivalent of a few 5-hour energy shots.

Started out kind of interesting….sort of Grace Jonesy, but then fell into a lazy talking of the song using Bette Davis’ syncopation (a breathy inhalation after every word–something Carol Burnett always did for her evil characters)–and that horrible rap at the end; no, she didn’t bring the beat…..

Joan Jett still gets my love for The Little Drummer Boy.
