RuPaul shares adorable throwback pic from when he first moved to NYC

No one loves throwing it back more than RuPaul Charles.

On Friday, the Drag Race host shared a throwback pic for #NationalNewYorkDay. The picture shows Ru as a pretty young thing dressed in stripped hot pants, a white halter top, and a cowboy hat, along with the caption: “I Love New York!”

Though RuPaul originally heralds from the West Coast, it was New York where his career really took off. Ru became a popular fixture on the NYC nightclub scene in the early ’90s before eventually becoming the global superstar he is today.

In other RuPaul news, his new Christmas album is set to be released in just a few weeks.

Ru confirmed the news on Instagram last month, announcing: “Finished recording my 3rd Christmas album. Debuts in October!”

The album is a follow up to Ru’s first two holiday efforts, 1997’s Ho Ho Ho, and 2015’s Slay Belles.
