At Least URI Student Christopher Hagen’s Homophobic Dorm Note Didn’t Lead To A Suicide?

Christopher Hagen, a freshman at the University of Rhode Island in Providence, got himself arrested for scrawling a threat on the dry erase board hanging outside another student’s dorm room. There was a drawing of “a male anatomical part” next to the note, “You are gay, get out of Barlow [Hall] before you regret it.” He’s been charged with misdemeanor vandalism and disorderly conduct. What happened to the good old days of Facebook taunts?

…. and what happened to the good old medieval practice of dragging out yobbish students to the quadrangle to be tied to the whipping post for a serious whipping? – all in front of their compatriots.

What happened to the good old days when your college dry-erase board was only defaced with “a male anatomical part” by your good friend, without a threat accompanying it?
