PHOTOS: San Francisco Gets “Fresh” One Last Time

Let’s face it, after ten years on the San Francisco circuit scene, Fresh, the long-running dance party at otherwise hetero club Ruby Skye, was getting close to having to rename itself. The monthly Sunday-night bash bowed out gracefully over President’s Day weekend with one final blowout. Click through for photos from the final Fresh party at Ruby Skye Photos via David Wong

    Sure brings back the memories of the old I-Beam in the Haight, with their Sunday Tea Dance for the gay boys (I-Beam had straight clubs for the other nights).

    Interestingly, in the photos showing perhaps 100 different guys, there is shown but 1 guy in pic 15 sporting a tattoo — but no others! And hardly any earrings and no exposed body piercings! A new trend?

    Looks like a bunch of Weho boys with an extra helping of asian!

    Apparently shaving all of ones body hair is in fact alive and well in SF.

    I will miss Fresh. I hope it reincarnates itself in some form down the road. People still talk about missing Universe. . .

    The better parties in SF that night were set up elsewhere, yet this is and has always been for the young and asain party boys ( hence why you see no body hair ). They’ll find some other venue for their monthly outings no doubt

    Where are these Asians everyone is talking about I counted four. In any case I’ll take the #15.

  • Aiden

    @dsp: OH no. You can have one of the white boys, I called him first.

    These are the pix at the beginning of the event. Can we get some pix of how they looked afterwards?

  • dsp

    @Aiden: Them be fighting words! Bring it on! lolz but you are right…you called it first, i’ll just take all the rest!

  • Aiden

    @dsp: Thank you. 🙂

    I’ve lived in San Francisco for 6 years and have never heard of this event (until now).

  • MikeyM

    Why did they stop doing it?
