The drama that is the Anglican Church seems to get uglier by the day, don’t you agree?
As you may know, the foundations of the Christian sect threaten to crumble over whether or not gays should be ordained and even included under what should be a welcoming umbrella.
This chapter brings us back to Nigeria, where Archbishop Peter Akinola urges like-minded clergy men to vote against gay inclusion at this weeks National Assembly. A charming man, Akinola has previously referred to gays as “a cancerous lump in the body [which] should be excised if it has defied every known cure.”
Charming, no?
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
As the vote nears, he speaks on behalf of The Church of Nigeria by saying: “The Church affirms our commitment to the total rejection of the evil of homosexuality which is a perversion of human dignity.”
Huh. We can think of other things in this world that are perversions of human dignity. For example, genocide, economically fueled wars, and, dare we say, Akinola himself.
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: fuck you.

Is there any bigger perversion of human dignity than letting Britney and Kevin procreate…twice (4 for him), or to let Eminem and Kim Mathers marry, divorce, remarry and divorce again?????? Meanwhile gays are only allowed to sit back and make sure the world dresses better….(sigh).

Hey! You guys did pretty will on those church details. Nice job! However, since Archbishop Akinola apparently is one who would wish to become an Anglican pope, even though no such position exists, his detractors prefer to identify him as “Big Pete.”

My contempt for evil men like Akinola knows no bounds.
Nigeria has a plethora of problems, the least of them being homosexuality. There is a de facto civil war between Nigerian Muslims and Nigerian Christians and animists. Militants are attacking Nigeria’s oil infrastructure. I could go on and on…
What would Jesus do? Would Jesus be more concerned with the sexual practices of homosexuals or the wholesale slaughter of human beings?
