To the delight of his fans, singer and rapper Lil Nas X revealed earlier this week that he’s heading out on his first North American and European tour.
The ‘Long Live Montero Tour’ will kick off September 6th in Detroit, and will be followed by 13 other dates in North America, including Chicago, Toronto, Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Nashville, Miami, Los Angeles and San Francisco. It will be followed by dates in Europe in November.

One US state the gay superstar won’t be playing this time around is Texas. The ‘Industry Baby’ hitmaker took to Twitter to explain why.

Whether he was being serious or joking (we suspect the latter), his fans had plenty to say, from disappointed Texanites to those imploring him to visit their own particular state.

I would personally love to visit Texas! That might be an outsider looking in mentality though lol (I’m from the UK). But I’ve always said an ideal American trip would include California, New York, New Orleans, Texas, Salem, Hawaii, and Las Vegas (but not in Summer).

Been to Texas many times, have relatives there, and I enjoy Austin (I loved it especially before it blew up into a megacity), Houston (great food, culture), Dallas (interesting, more conservative than Houston but still a big, liberal city), San Antonio (great people), El Paso (and Las Cruces right across the border), Marfa (great little art town), and San Marcos (a laid-back town between Austin and San Antonio). The only Texas city I’m not so fond of is Corpus Christi (just dull). Fort Worth is huge but doesn’t register to me except as Dallas’s neighbor. But I’d always rather visit Texas than live there!
