This just in: An damning new article claims Melania Trump never wanted to be First Lady of the United States of America.
Shocked? Yeah, us neither.
[Melania] knew her husband wanted to run for president. And she knew that, if he didn’t, he was likely to be knocking around their gilded triplex in Trump Tower, muttering about how he should have done so. “She said, ‘It’s not my thing. It’s Donald’s thing,’ ” according to Stone. “And I think she understood he was going to be unhappy if he didn’t run.”
So he ran. And he won! And suddenly Melania found herself thrust into a role for which she never signed up:
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
There may never have been a First Lady less prepared for or suited to the role. “This isn’t something she wanted and it isn’t something he ever thought he’d win,” one longtime friend of the Trumps’ told me. “She didn’t want this come hell or high water. I don’t think she thought it was going to happen.”

Vanity Fair points out all the things about Melania that make her an “unusual” First Lady, including the fact that she is the only FLOTUS in history with naked pictures on the internet and that she didn’t move into the White House until five months after her husband’s inauguration.
She also employs half the number of staff as either Michelle Obama or Laura Bush did, in large part because she just doesn’t need them… because she doesn’t do anything. Most of her days are spent “very much alone.”
According to one insider, during the transition, her staff “sat around waiting for the phone to ring.”
“We really had very little to do,” the insider says.
Sources tell Vanity Fair that, nearly a year in, Melania is finally “warming” up to her role, though there is still a lot she hates about it, including the public scrutiny, the bad press, and her secret service detail:
Melania has also confided to the longtime family friend that she is unnerved by the constant Secret Service detail. She was accustomed to “drivers and security, but now you have the Secret Service outside your door,” the friend told me.

In a statement released last month, Melania’s press secretary said:
Mrs. Trump has made the White House a home for Barron and the President. She loves living in Washington, D.C., and is honored by her role as First Lady of the United States.
whatsaywhat
Why should ANY of Trump’s family have an official role? They weren’t elected. HE was.
Melania is an enigma… but on the surface she appears to be a sad, lost little girl.
Brian
Because as long as there has been a president, there has been a First Lady? How did you not learn that in elementary school?
OzJosh
The whole First Lady malarky is a ridiculous anachronism, born in a bygone era when wives were appendages and their main duty was to support their husband in whatever he did. In the modern era the wife of a president should be able to say “congratulations, darling; well done”, then get on with her own career and interests. Though whether Melania has either of those is another moot point.
Heywood Jablowme
@Brian: Not really. Thomas Jefferson was a widower, as were Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren. James Buchanan never married (apparently gay, not that we want to claim him!). In the old days the “first lady” role – not called that until later – was merely to be the hostess at White House events. Sometimes a niece or sister did it.
@OzJosh: You have a point too, since the modern First Lady role was pretty much invented by the unhappily married Eleanor Roosevelt, who needed something to do. (And did it well, IMO, but that’s another story.) Ever since then, we Americans have had unrealistic expectations of what First Ladies are “supposed” to do. Yeah, it’s an anachronism.
OzJosh, if you ever get rid of the monarchy down there in Oz, be sure to have a purely ceremonial, figurehead president! Don’t adopt the crazy U.S. system!
Brian
Ok, I didn’t literally mean that every single president had a living wife. The point was that he’s making it sound like this is a Trump thing, and not an every (married) president thing, which is idiotic.
whatsaywhat
I’m “making it sound like it’s a Trump thing”?
Sounds like it’s your idiotic reading. READ THE WORDS @Brian. That’s all there is to it.
loser.
Brody
The great irony is that Melania Trump isn’t one one-thousandth as miserable as are her constant Internet critics who seem to revel in their incurable schadenfreude.
BigWill
Oooh, Mo loves him some Melanoma!
She’s going to make big trouble for Moose and Squirrel.
Kieran
Very fake news.
leobaga
You win the internet my friend. Lol
am_psi
She’s doing fine, despite getting constantly criticized for no reason. She’s supporting her husband in doing something he wanted to do, but as a modern women she’s not really obligated to get into any of the first lady nonsense. At last she’s not meddling in school lunches or trying to warm up for her own political career.
Knight
Good points. I believe she’s been very open about not wanting to become a First Lady since before the election, yet as a good, supportive wife she stuck by her husband’s decision. I don’t have any particular draw or attraction to her, as I think she has made some very shallow life choices. But I also don’t think she (or anyone) deserves the amount of hatred piled on her for no reason.
(cue the predictable retort from the left of, “but….MICHELLE!!!!”)
Brody
Compared to her predecessor, she’s 1000 times better looking, she’s poised, she hasn’t attempted to starve American schoolchildren with absurd policies, and she loves this country.
DCguy
Oh look, 3 of Mo Bros screenames commenting to support each other. Must be a Tuesday.
Stache
Yeah, I knew this post was going to attract the homocon dipships above like fly’s to shit. Of coarse I’m probably just referring to one homocon and his sock puppets.
Stache
Didn’t mean to include you DCguy!
o.codone
Of “coarse” you didn’t Stache. Dipshit.
RIGay
Honey, you being FLOTUS is not our thing, either.
BUT THAT SAID, I honestly do feel bad for her; in that seems EVERY TIME she tries to step out on her own, the dotard immediately has some totally opposite statement to make. I can see where she is getting quite sick of it.
Just waiting for the Narcissist-in-Chief to take credit for the Christmas decorations…
Heywood Jablowme
I wish she would go back to her original First Lady Project: stopping cyber-bullying. That was a laudable goal. It was also frickin’ hilarious! Her cyber-bully husband certainly injected a note of irony into that idea.
It’s STILL a laudable goal though, and she can address the problem of cyber-bullying by taking Dotard’s twitter phone away when he goes to sit on the golden throne (the one with the jiggly handle) at 4 a.m.
And see today’s WaPo: the Narcissist-in-Chief does indeed take credit for the Christmas decorations! Even though Melania mostly did them. You can’t make this stuff up.
IWantAFullBeard
Shocked? She is a mixture of stupid, gold digger (again stupid because he isn’t rich), and a hasbeen model. I use hasbeen affectionately because she isn’t even that good.
Brian
In what universe is he not rich?
SiamSam
Stupid? She speaks five languages. Has been model? Models have a short shelf life. Generally, you come across as bitter and stupid making such ignorant remarks.
Brody
Gold digger?
She could divorce Trump tomorrow and live just as luxuriously.
Heywood Jablowme
“She could divorce Trump tomorrow…”
That’s pretty much Gold Digger 101. Unless she wants to go the Lucrezia Borgia route… which I wouldn’t entirely rule out.
Maybe she’ll be like Rudy Giuliani’s wife: divorce him and kick him out of the White House! Then Donald can move in with two gay male Republican roommates. (Brody, if you have a roommate and an extra room – but no pets! – you’d fit the bill.)
surreal33
Guess she rather being posing sleazy snatch shots. You put lipstick on a pig but she still a pig.
Billy Budd
The first lady of the USA is an ex hooker with no brains who is abused by her husband on a daily basis. Congratulations America.
stanhope
She is neither Jackie Kennedy…class and fashion nor Michelle…brains and accomplishment…..a nothing burger.

The venom on this site against a perfectly innocent First Lady speaks volumes. Gays. The most hateful, negative, nasty, offensive, unpleasant and otherwise bitchy women on the planet. Look at what you’re posting. Pure negative shit, all day every day. You make mainstream America cringe. And then you wonder why there’s bigots.
erasure25
lol Uhm, we gays are not the ones complaining endlessly every year about stupid AF starbucks cups! Try thinking a little bit harder before typing…
o.codone
erasure25. Change the subject to Starbucks cups, however random that was, then throw a nasty invective in at the end just because you can. There you have it, the formula for many, many Queerty responses. But you prove the point, “You make mainstream America cringe. And then you wonder why there’s bigots”. It’s because of your nasty, hateful mouths. Thanks for being the poster boy for a moment.
