If we’re the party of freedom and liberty, then we should be for personal freedom and individual liberty and that extends to marriage as far as I’m concerned.
You talk to younger people, they want to move past some of the old arguments we’ve been having on the culture wars. Frankly the culture wars are kind of over, and Republicans largely lost.”
—David Kochel, senior Iowa advisor for Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign, defending his support for same-sex marriage, on The Insiders.

That’s the most sensible thing anyone in the Romney campaign ever said.

Kudos to David Kochel. My partner and I have been together for over 50 years and we live in Massachusetts. We got married in 2004 when Romney was governor of Massachusetts. He hoodwinked his way by his usual list of false claims, even convincing the gay Log Cabin Republicans that he was for equal rights. When Romney was elected, he supported a bill to that would ban same sex marriage by popular vote. Romney should do some research on “The Fall of ’55” which is about gay persecution in Boise, Idaho, 1955. Nine out of ten gays that were prosecuted were Morman.

The right hasn’t “kind of lost” they’ve been decimated in every nominal country on the planet.

It isn’t necessary for us to “wait” for the old, white farts to catch up to the present. There are going to be serious advances in the GLBT betterment program and it’s about time! This is indeed a new and better era, and things will only get better. Let’s hope the RRR (radical religious right) catch on and advance with the rest of the Christian community in these aspects.

The Tedious right will continue to bloviate their hate a fear message and people will dig deeply into their pockets, just as they did during the, “Red Scare.” That’s how they make their dollars. When we finally get our place in the sun, they’ll find another outsider to turn their wicked eyes towards, in hate. Mormons will cave, as they should, since they’re a counterfeit pseudo-religion, with no historical nor archeological basis. Once they see dollars flitting away, they won’t care. The only reason the Elders joined other hate filled religions, such as Catholics and any organization with the word, “FAMILY” ominously in their name was to be seen as legitimate. This sect will never be seen as legitimate. Once they realize that all their hateful participation in the LGBT witch hunt didn’t make them any more legitimate, “hello gays!” What’s a cult to do? Glom onto the Boy Scout of America and get them while their too young to realize that they are being coerced into false teachings, with social constructs mirroring the scouts. Republicans will attempt to distance themselves from all of these unsavory characters, but it’s too late. Their only option is to cheat and denigrate democracy by redistricting, oppressing votes, and toying with Wall Street’s emotions. Hypocrites eventually get shown for what they are. Fake religions, fake politicians, fake organizations will melt into irrelevance. It’s cyclical.
