“Big Girls” singer Mika has released “The Origin of Love,” a short film spotlighting the title track off his upcoming album. The video was a collaboration between the gay popster and Chilean filmlmaker Cristián Jiménez (Bonsai). “I wanted to take the kaleidoscopic dreaminess of the song and pair it up with Cristián’s more realistic, surreal and moving imagery,” says Mika. “When making these films, I give complete freedom to the director we are collaborating with, in a way that is never possible with a music video. This short film was made in Santiago with Cristián’s close team and friends, and with a lot of love. I hope that watching someone else’s visual reaction to the song is as surprising and moving for you as it was for me.”
The Origin of Love is out on Universal Republic on October 16.

Crappy advertorial for a crappy singer who no-one likes anymore, but let’s push it to the Gays.
Yay!

For a (finally) newly out gay artist the song and video would’ve worked better with 2 mmen than with a hetero couple.
