Why?

From the editor: Why, I wonder, do all the news networks feel compelled to broadcast the Pope’s mass in DC? No offense to the Catholics, but aren’t there more important things in the world…

Consider it a repreive from the stupidity of the election coverage. Remember when they broadcast the audio from Jackie O’s funeral? The Catholics deserve something nice every once in a while.

Americans have a fascination with men in funny hats.

watching the coverage of him doing the lap around the baseball field in the popemobile almost caused me to fall asleep and off of the elliptical trainer at the gym.

Perhaps because whether you’re Catholic or not, if you are an intelligent person you should be concerned with a man who holds powerful sway over the hearts and minds of millions. He may be a blight on reason and maybe the ‘mumbo-jumbo’ of a Catholic mass doesn’t appeal the puritan sensibility of many americans. Hearing what he has to say, and getting beyond the stigma of catholicism, however, is our responsibility as his adversaries of his policies.

Who cares about the Pope? He’s just an old fart in a funny robe. Nothing he says has any relevance to the way people live their lives.

And remember, the Catholic Church would exterminate all the queers if they had the chance.

Do what I did: Get rid of TV reception. Then it won’t bother you.

Well, it’s not like the Pope (the leader of one billion Catholics in the world) says mass in Washington DC every morning. So, I think it definitely warrants televisual broadcast, regardless of how backward the old dinosaur is!

It’s informative: “Look how one can fill up a baseball stadium with a fraction of the billion people who actually believe that a little old nazi dressed up like a byzantine emperor is really truly chatting with invisible sky people, and magically transforming perfectly good crackers and a mediocre wine into human flesh and blood for their dining pleasure!”

It’s a sad but instructive story.

It’s just like this blog’s incessant coverage of Marc Jacob’s and Michael Lucas’ every move. Aren’t there more important things in the world, Queerty? Unless Marc or Michael win the Nobel Peace Prize for brokering peace in the Middle East, or something equally as newsworthy, maybe you should lay off the Jacobs/Lucas coverage for a while.

whether we agree with him or not he has an influential position and so will garner media attention. my problem is why arent the feminist, gay rights, and sexual abuse victim protesters being given media coverage?

Even our most LGBT supportive Senators believes in that mumbo jumbo, Teddy Kennedy. It’s not just the Bushwackers.
This country needs reason and sanity, not that Abrahamic mythology that causes so much harm in the world.
