It wasn’t “misconstrued”. He was the one that made a big deal about “coming out”, did tons of press around it, said he was “open” to dating a dude and ran to a gay club less than a week after that post so he could be “embraced”. This was always just a ploy by him and/or his team. But it quickly ran of out gas and didn’t equate to people caring about his music. In general, the dude just has tons of issues.
This is why I say unless you actually have real, substantial and sustained romantic and sexual passion, affection and satisfaction beyond your opposite cisgender and you actually wish to unabashedly embrace that then you probably shouldn’t make a huge deal about “coming out”. Most of the population is not completely, fully conventionally straight or gay anyways. That way of thinking will keep people from being leeches.

But the ton of issues are usually due to suppression of same sex desire. The whole reason homosexuality is so contentious is because it forces the soul to question the existential. When everyone is assumed “straight” society can pretend more easily that everything is a OK, again, “straight”. But when it is clear there is another path or more beyond the outer shell of appearances, insecurity and uncertainty creeps in. Judgement follows.
When homosexuality is denied, it’s an attempt to escape judgement by the higher conscious. So either he’s repressing it in himself or he’s a general homophobe. You will never meet a sociopath who isn’t also anti-gay. And it has nothing to do with statistics. It’s by design.

Yes, repression, self-resentment, self-misandry, self-misogony, external homophobia, internalized homophobia, desperation to hold on to some sense of hetero-normalcy, etc. are all big issues among a large percentage of gay and gay-leaning people. But there are other things even seemingly out and self-comfortable people contend with: self-destructive instincts, feelings of purposelessnes, hetero-worship, inferiority complexes, depression. These things are people high among a large percentage of out people. Someone can also be plagued with a lot of different contradictions in their sense of self and within their sexual, romantic and emotional instincts and satisfactions. Someone can lack “pride” because they were molested or raped and feel as if they were forced to be a certain way. Someone’s desires and passions may be dominated by an inappropriate age group. Those things as well can lead to self-rejection. So, repression isn’t the be-all of a lot of people’s “issues”.
Also, once again, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s straight or very straight-leaning. Considering his drug problems and the looney things he’s said and done to get some press you can’t really trust anything that comes out of his mouth.

I see him as a victim of the industry. Therefore, I can’t truly resent him. A victim of his parents for putting him out way too young, a victim of having money and fame come at too young of an age and then have it swiped away from him before he was even an adult, a victim of the industry’s endless debauchery, perhaps a victim of some of the industry’s sexual predators, and (if he is gay or gay-leaning) a victim of the industry’s homophobia and internalized homophobia and “do anything to make sure people don’t see you as gay” policy. it is what it is.

I’m not surprised if Aaron is now identifying as straight. Men who identify as bisexual have a really hard time of it. They get sh!t from gay-identifying guys and from bi-phobic females. Females in general feel threatened by the admission of homosexual impulses by men who are attracted to women.
The male homosexual impulse brings power to men so long as those men are also attracted to women. It enables these men to wield power over women by removing from the female sex the power of consent.
Keep in mind the idea that women are empowered by ownership notions, especially if that includes the ownership of male sexuality. If her man is unashamed of his homosexual impulses and publicly admits them, it destroys her ownership of his sexuality in her eyes and in the eyes of other women. She cannot use consent as a weapon any longer as he has the admitted potential to turn to more easily available males if she refuses to consent to sex with him.
Women tend to punish male bisexuality whereas men tend to reward female bisexuality. Therein lies the real differences between the sexes.

He dropped a single, tried to book performance gigs, did quite a few interviews and tried to guest star on Will & Grace all within a couple weeks of “coming out”. Anyone could see that this was nonsense no matter the dynamics of his orientation.

Aaron Carter is genuinely very confident and very extroverted which comes from growing up in the entertainment industry and being surrounded by big celebrities from a young age: If he wanted to have a relationship with a man he wouldn’t hesitate for a second and show it to everyone and he would definitely go on every TV show to promote it.
He’s also a grade a hustler who knows how to play the media game. He was never even remotely LGBT but knew how to word it in a way so that he could ride the “LGBT fence”, like a lot of celebs are doing these days, and benefit from it for a hot minute but then backtrack and say that he was misquoted or misunderstood and not “actually bisexual”.
The only thing that ever kept Aaron from actually coming out as gay, bi or LGBT is the fact that he is one hundred percent heterosexual.
What is he is mentally ill, a “stunt queen” and a true hustler always looking for a quick way to get more people to his show and to his tracks on Spotify. But he is not a victim nor was he ever LGBT. He just doesn’t have any shame and thinks everything is fair in the name of fame and money.

Anyone who has been following him for the last 2-3 years knows without a doubt that Aaron Carter is a grade-A “stunt queen” who deliberately and repeatedly gets himself in messy situations(crime, drug abuse, relationship drama, coming out as bisexual) because he knows the media will react and talk about it.
He then “suddenly” comes to his senses, goes on various TV shows talking about how the horrible music industry and his horrible parents, and that he is now “a changed man”(etc.). “Oddly” enough, Aaron is never so devastated or heartbroken that he can’t muster the strength to record and release a new single that then is promoted during his latest downfall. Going on tour is also never an issue.
