The Trump train stopped by CNN last night for their Republican town hall, and the Donald pretty much got owned by everyone’s favorite silver foxy newsman Anderson Cooper.
The fight for the GOP nomination continued its slide to new depths over the past week when Trump engaged in a nasty battle of words and tweets with fellow candidate Ted Cruz regarding the hotness of their wives. Yep, that happened.
Anderson put Trump on the spot about his role in the attacks, then rightly chided him for answering like a spoiled child in response.
Watch the moment in all of its awkward glory below, and join us in giving the Coop a mental high-five for not backing down to Donald Trump‘s bluster.

Why is this news? They all act this way, and most of the people in the media including Cooper do as well.
John Kuehnle
This is the most embarrasing pres campaign I can remember, for some more than others
DCguy
I’m glad Cooper did that, but the question should be asked, why do they not treat the other candidates the same way?
Why isn’t Ted Cruz asked why he went to an event sponsored by a pastor who wants to legalize murdering gays? Why not ask Ted Cruz if the affair allegations are really false then why isn’t he filing suit against the paper that reported them? etc…
The Establishment RNC hates Trump so reporters feel they can go after him, but it also really clarifies how they WON’T go after other candidates with just as much dirty laundry.
Damian Mitch
And most people DON’T want that as their First Lady, Donald.
Bill Mountrey
That’s NO lady – even to all the men she has serviced.

Go Anderson!
Jarodd Washington
I’m getting sick and tired of him
Tony Chaplinski
getting ?????
joeyty
Yet Cooper runs around with doofus Andy Cohen.
Gary McGonigle
Hope you get through to him but you won’t. Not till he goes away with his tail between his legs, the LOSER that he is,
Tony Chaplinski
and he does have a tail, the horns are hidden underneath that “hairdo”
michaelmt1009
Good for Anderson. Why doesn’t Donny just pack up his toys and go home. What an embarrassment to all of America.
robho3
Anderson is my hero. I was thinking the same thing when I heard trump say ‘he started it’. That is exactly what my niece said when she was 6. Anderson doesn’t put up with trump’s BS. No one should.
joeyty
@robho3: But he puts up with Cohen’s b.s.
GayEGO
I say – Dump the Trump and Lose the Cruz. These are not presidential material, just a couple of bullies making childish nonsense.
Tony Chaplinski
he never could and never will be able to handle the truth
Benet Leigh
Handle it? He can’t even identify it.
Jeffrey Matthew Cohen
Anderson called all of the different candidates out for different things – Trump on the pettiness, Cruz on complaining about equal airtime, Kasich on his delusions that he can actually win the Rep nomination.
Christian Young-Koontz
and yet, there are people out there that vote for Trump because he’s “different” (more a bully and a child)! I wonder if all of these actions of his will affect his businesses, especially international businesses, when they see how ridiculous Trump is (and making America look horrible).
John Kuehnle
I was beginning to think I was the only one who felt that way. I rarely discuss politics at work, even with my boyfriend.
joeyty
@Christian Young-Koontz: It won’t affect foreign businessmen dealing with him at all if there’s mutual profit in it. Business is cold. (Everybody deals with Saudi Arabia, and they still put people on trial for witchcraft).
Brian
Anderson Cooper is an embarrassment to the gay community. Why doesn’t he ask Hillary about her lack of support for gay rights? About her husband signing DADT and DOMA? He’s pathetic.
Dakotahgeo
“I didn’t start it!” Foot stomping, et al! No, but are you man enough to gently stop it? Do you have the mental capability to take the higher road from out of your slime pit? (Thought so!). Fail.
joeyty
@Dakotahgeo: Why SHOULD Trump stop it if Cruz was such a nasty prick about him ?

@Brian: Lack of support? Like how she gave a strong and inspirational speech to the UN supporting equality and better treatment of LGBT people worldwide? That was in 2011. Obama was still in his first term. You gay Republicans are a freaking joke to humanity. You attack Hillary for her perceived lack of support (LIE) and then you support someone like Trump. What a frigging joke!
bottom250
Probe Anderson Copper I’ll take a “poll” from you.
Timothy Warner
Give him hell AC
DCguy
@Brian:
He has asked her those things. How odd that you would say something without any backing and then it turns out to be wrong.
Oh wait, that isn’t odd at all. That happens all the time in your postings.
Desert Boy
Anderson Cooper kept interrupting Trump, answering the question for him. It was the most unprofessional display. Someone needs to sit little Andy down and tell him, ‘you aren’t the candidate, stop interrupting’. I guess mama Glo never taught him Manners 101. And, those Walgreens eye glasses — eck!
GC1985
@Desert Boy: He wasn’t interrupting him
How does it feel seeing your candidate collapse himself in the matter of days? I can’t believe you are just that delusional to support him. And Walgreen eye glasses huh? Coming from you that is ironic, considering you support the guy with the fake looking hair and hideous suit selection.
GC1985
The Trump supporters on here are now resorting to ad hominems. We hit a watershed moment in the entire race. Trump has literally gone way too far pissing off the largest voter group in this country. Hillary is smiling all the way to the inauguration. Trump supporters are hapless cowards who can’t even discuss the comments he made. They still try to defend the sinking ship.
This isn’t Saudi Arabia.

Another so called journalist looking to grab headlines for themselves rather than be professional. Looking for an easy target.
Bob LaBlah
The only reason why I am willing to vote for Trump is because I know his election will mean the end of the GOP as we know it and I couldn’t be happier. The fact that both of those sorry as men (Cruz and Trump) have risen to where they have is proof enough there is no leadership at the top of the GOP. My vote is more in protest than ideology. They have no other choice than to support Cruz, a man who every one in the party despises and they all know is a bald faced liar.
Has anyone taken notice that when they talk about a brokered convention no one mentions the name Cruz as a winner in the situation? To me that indicates there is a secret candidate they are going to put on that ticket and it sure as hell aint Cruz. This is a mess.
I don’t give that uninspiring hillbilly from Arkansas a chance in hell of being elected once the truth comes to light about just what she is.
DCguy
@Bob LaBlah:
So in other words, you will vote for somebody who has said they will put judges in office that will strip away your civil rights.
Your self hatred is so embedded and huge that they must need the Hubbel Telescope to get a full measurement of it.
Oh, and I love all the internet conspiracy theorists that keep claiming there is a HUGE secret about Clinton that they know but the rest of the world just needs to figure out.
Funny how after 9 hours of questioning by a Congressional committee, or 12 investigations none of that was brought up.
But PLEASE, keep telling yourself that there is some great secret only known to you about Clinton that will come raging out. I mean it isn’t as if the GOP hasn’t been investigating her for the last decade or so with nothing to show for it.
joeyty
@Bob LaBlah: The GOP sure hates Trump, that’s for sure.
Bauhaus
@Bob LaBlah:
You don’t believe in gay marriage, and you are against men advertising taking it up the bum. Doesn’t sound like a protest vote.
Bob LaBlah
@DCguy: South East, D.C.?
Bob LaBlah
@Bauhaus: “Doesn’t sound like a protest vote.”
Of course it doesn’t because you don’t “know” me and how I really think. Trump and his personality is EXACTLY what is going to ruin the GOP. Nearly all of the GOP elected officials despise him just as much as they do Cruz, only in the case of Trump he is going to be so despised the old guard GOP will stand in his way on everything. Sit back and watch the fireworks as Trump starts publicly calling them assholes and leaks personal stuff about them in revenge.
You think he won’t if he doesn’t get HIS way all of the time? The man does not understand compromise. Were it not for compromise how do you think Obamacare got passed with a majority GOP in both the house and senate? As I said, sit back and watch the fireworks.
brucebruce836
@joeyty: Andy Cohen is a television personality that is his friend and who isn’t running for public office. Why so nasty towards Cohen?
1EqualityUSA
Trump is done.
1EqualityUSA
GOP is more done.
o.codone
Anderson Cooper is an annoying little douche. Yes, all he did was raise his voice and talk over Trump. WTF kind of journalist is that? The thing is, Trump can and does say whatever he wants and it only makes his voting block more resolved to vote for him. Because that’s the attraction of Trump, he says what he wants and says what we the people are all feeling. GO TRUMP!
Bob LaBlah
@o.codone: I feel the same way but more and more I yearn for more choices from BOTH sides of the aisle. This election is really depressing when you stop to think about it. Have you notice how no one has mentioned Obama or anything they used to preach about him in over a month? Not one condemnation because they are too busy making asses of themselves and need no help in doing it.
Bauhaus
@Bob LaBlah:
How you “really think” must be very different from what you post on here, then.
Compromise? ACA passed without one single Republican vote.
@1EqualityUSA:
Not a minute too soon.
Bob LaBlah
@Bauhaus: “ACA passed without one single Republican vote.”
Are you sure about that?
Bauhaus
@Bob LaBlah:
Yes.

Sickening to see Trump supporters on this site. Things have changed for the worse here.
joeyty
@brucebruce836: Because Cohen is a silly vicious thing, in public and in private, and Cooper hangs out with him and acts just as silly. But if you’re saying one has to stop that behavior when one is running for office…that’s fair.
Bob LaBlah
@Bauhaus: Not only are you correct but one has to nearly be a Philadelphia lawyer to figure out just how it got enacted into law. Thank you for correcting me. I thought for sure at least three of them jumped ship but I was wrong. Thanks again on the update.
