After all these years of snide remarks and the occasional visit to one another’s show, noted archenemies Bill O’Reilly and Jon Stewart are going to settle their long-standing beef like men: by sitting down and debating politics from a climate-controlled collegiate setting.
Dubbed “The Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium,” O’Reilly and Stewart will storm George Washington University on Saturday, October 6, for their debate. Those not fortunate enough to attend the live event can feel as if they’re basking in the cool glow of GDubs thanks to a live-stream on the Rumble’s official website.
Either way, tickets cost a whopping $4.95 with half the proceeds going towards charities. The other half will buy Big Macs for Bill and Jon.
“The format is exactly like the presidential debates, without all the phoniness and pomposity,” O’Reilly announced on The O’Reilly Factor last night, before realizing that his presence would render at least one of those claims moot. Never short on sass, O’Reilly promised the Rumble would “be a night to remember. At least for Stewart and his 18 writers.”
How about we take this to the next level?

Meanwhile, it’s nice to finally know why Al Gore invented the Internet.

Stewart lost a lot of cred the last time he engaged the Dems with a rally to “restore sanity” and then claimed that the Dems are just as bad as the Republicans. Stewart raised a lot of hopes (Just like Obama who also plays both sides – tax cut extension for the Richest of the rich) and toys with Fox Mews and the Devil’s minions.
O’Rilley is just a smug arsehole. Do we really want another bowl of milqtoast? If your only choice is between Son of Sam or Monsanto, Monsanto is better. But I do miss having real choices.
