Teen Wolf star Charlie Carver is hoping to “open up a discussion about men and power dynamics” in Hollywood.
On the heels of the Harvey Weinstein scandal, Carver is the latest in an increasingly long list of entertainers alleging sexual assault, harassment, and rape at the hands of Hollywood execs.
While talking to Variety at the GLSEN’s Awards this weekend, the openly gay actor said he was “not a stranger” to such harassment.

How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
“There are many other people who have experienced way worse in terms of harassment, but I can identify and empathize with anybody who has gone through it.
I’m not a stranger to it. This will hopefully open up a discussion about men and power dynamics in general — maybe it has to do with exerting masculinity.”
How was he able to process his experiences? “Through the support of talking with other people who have been through the same thing,” he says.
“I wouldn’t say I was traumatized. But it was definitely a lesson, something to move through.”

Name names and circumstances or get off the pot. Handsome guy getting hit on is not sexual harassment. If you don’t talk about who and how you’re just part of the problem.

Hate to break it to you Chris but being hit on DEFINITELY can be sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is basically any form of obsecene gestures or sexually based attention that is unwanted and/or not asked for. The fact that you think being attractive somehow negates or excuses unwanted sexual attention is very disconcerting. Everyone in this world is attractive to someone else, that doesn’t give people a free pass to make advances towards a person who doesn’t want them, and being thought of as an attractive person or a “sex symbol” doesn’t mean you can never be considered a victim of sexual harassment.

“being hit on (by someone you’re not attracted to) DEFINITELY can be sexual harassment”…but if they’re hot then come to mama.
I’m not disagreeing with you on this but till we get more info it’s useless to talk for or against. Let’s face it. Most of us have been sexually harassed at one point or the other under that definition.

Hitting on someone that is pursuing acting work from is slimy. Talking about it is not part of the problem. Shutting them down and quieting the victims is a problem.

Remember a few years ago the Brian Singer lawsuit. That guy was attacked from all sides but he at least had the balls to do it. I guess it just comes down to what you have to lose.
DCguy
Remember also, that Noah Galvin who starred in “The Real O’Neils” made a comment about Bryan Singer and within a day you saw all of these phony “leaks” coming out that Galvin was “Difficult” to work with and many other attacks,.
Hollywood infrastructure, just like FOX News protected it’s rapists or pedophiles.

I hope the guy that accused Singer will eventually realize how he helped put a crack in the behavior that goes on.

…I’m not defending anyone who’s legitimately guilty of sexual harassment, but if I had a dollar for every person I hit on who initially rebuffed my interest only to eventually find them knocking at my door, I’d be rich…there’s a dangerous atmosphere forming here…one in which a great many people are being “tried” in social media, without due process…ANYONE can make an accusation of harassment and from that moment, the accused is presumed guilty…
DCguy
There is no connection between rebuffing a legitimate advance and workplace sexual assault or harassment.
And it’s interesting, a different account, trying to minimize what happened again? Is this a new Mo Bro screename? People like Weinstein, O’Reilly, Ailes, Singer, etc… have all been accused with most already making huge settlements and losing their jobs.
These aren’t instances of some pissed off waitress making a false claim because she got a bad tip. But it’s interesting that you’re trying to move the conversation in that direction, are you Woody Allen?
PinkoOfTheGange
But where you able to further there career like an agent, casting director, producer, etc.
That is the difference.
You are just talking about being persistent most likely.
Herman75
Exactly.
For all we know, Clinton did not create that blue stain, Cosby did not drug those women, Weinstein did not masturbate in front of or screw all those women, and Trump did not wonder into the Miss Teen USA dressing room. Because all those men are much too noble to do such a thing, as is everyone in Hollywood.
Thank you Bopper1 for keeping us grounded.

I’ve never watched Teen Wolf so pardon my ignorance… Is there something specific about the show that makes it such a prolific source of gay news? If I’m not mistaken, they have been multiple stories about its actors coming out and various sex videos. Interestingly, the sex videos have all cum from [presumably] straight actors, I think.
Bradsman
The problem is, no star wants to say “ Yeah, I got the part because I put out” Getting hit on is not abuse but someone in power saying “ you won’t get the job unless you do it” is

If the entertainment company is publicly traded, at some point the stockholders and boards of directors might want to take a look at the risks created by grabbing pvssy and shtooping boys. Especially when the monetary and collateral damage begins to add up.
