This weekend, a militia of drag queens descended upon Saturday Night Live to dance along to Katy Perry’s performance of new single “Swish Swish.”
But the number that really got people talking was “Bon Appétit,” especially after rumors began circulating that rap group Migos (who lent their vocals to the track) refused to perform with any drag queens during their number.
It wasn’t hard to believe in the wake of comments the group recently gave Rolling Stone, calling support for openly gay rapper iLoveMakonnen “fucked up” and “not right.”

Nevertheless, the rumors are unfounded, if many of the participating drag queens are to be believed.
Many who performed are now taking to social media to shut down the rumors once and for all.

I find it amazing none of these strong NYC Queens find issue with Migo and their homophobic tirade. An ally not taking a stand and performing with such nasty homophobes is a privilege the rest of us aren’t afforded. Sadly it looks like the glitz and glamour have trumped standing up for our community and against homophobia once again. Sugar coat it – it’s the only way to make that sour Katty palatable.

It’s a ‘thing’ because some gossip queen who works at Huffington Post decided to make it a thing. This happens a lot with LGBT coverage. Affluent yuppies who, despite what they think, represent a small portion of our population, make all the decisions about what is and isn’t a thing as far as LGBT matters go with complete disregard for reality. I ignore them, everyone else should as well.
