In recognition of Earth Day 2015, The Underwear Expert wants to remind you that your underwear choices can change the world. Maybe not overnight, but choosing environmentally-friendly brands and collections is a step in the right direction — just like that extra strep toward the recycling bin. We may be born naked, but this is the underwear nature intended.
Model Ben Bigler shows off eco-friendly pairs of underwear in Jerrad Matthew’s latest exclusive for The Underwear Expert, many of which are primarily made from bamboo. Bamboo rayon is a popular alternative to cotton, due to the bamboo plant’s need for little water, and a bounty of benefits most men never knew they needed. Bamboo rayon is naturally antibacterial, hypoallergenic, and anti-fungal. The material is even moisture wicking and pleasantly lightweight.
The Icebreaker Anatomica Boxer is easy on the Earth by being made almost entirely from Merino wool. It’s a 150hm fabric, which means it’s lightweight while still having that luxurious wool feel.
aussieBum’s Banana Brief is the pair you bring home to Mother Nature. A simple white brief is accented by a green and yellow waistband, which echoes the pair’s soft and surprising use of materials. It’s made from 64% cotton, 9% elastane, and 27% real banana fiber, taken straight from the banana plant. What could be more earth-friendly (and perfect for Earth Day 2015) than that?
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
