Former GOP Congressman Aaron Schock appears to have had a magical weekend, flocking to the desert with upwards of 100,000 other attendees for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, known simply by its Cher or Madonna-esque first name, Coachella.
According to multiple eyewitnesses, Schock spent the festival with his gay friends, dancing his heart out. Fun! He also reportedly got intimate with a guy or two, finding those precious carefree lip-locks every queer person dreams of having out in public.
There’s just one problem: While serving as the United States Representative for Illinois’ 18th congressional district from 2009 until 2015, Schock’s voting record read like the CliffsNotes of the Religious Right’s antigay playbook. Among his political positions, he voted against adding ‘sexual orientation, gender identity, gender and disability’ to the federal hate crime protection groups, against the repeal of ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,’ and for the Defense of Marriage Act, which defined marriage as between a man and a woman.
His politics at one time earned him a 0 percent approval rating from the Human Rights Campaign for his opposition to LGBTQ equality.
Schock’s sexuality and all-but-likely hypocrisy have long been sources of speculation, and those who alleged to have seen him living his circuit queen fantasy at Coachella are crying foul.
First among them was West Hollywood political activist (and sometimes Queerty writer) James Duke Mason, who shared photos that appear to show Schock with his friends, along with the following commentary:
Normally I wouldn’t comment on something like this, but I am just infuriated by these images of former Republican (and anti-gay) Congressman Aaron Schock partying with a group of gay men at Coachella. The fact that he would think he could show his face in public, particularly when he has NEVER renounced or apologized for his votes against gay marriage, gays in the military and against anti-discrimination laws is astounding. My intention isn’t to out him or target him personally, but simply to point out the hypocrisy. I saw him at a recent gay social event in West Hollywood and shook his hand before I realized who he was; he should really be ashamed of himself. And the gays who associate with him without calling him out should know better. It really is a disgrace.
Here’s the full post, with photos:

Schock is allegedly second from the left in the photo on the left and front and center in the one of the right.
In researching the photos, we discovered the group shot posted to the public Instagram account of one of the men posing with Schock. Among those who ‘liked’ that post was Aaron Schock himself. The post has since been removed, and the man has switched his account to ‘private.’ Queerty obtained a screenshot before the post disappeared showing the former Congressman liking the photo, but we’ve removed it at the request of the man whose account it came from, who requested anonymity.
After Mason’s post picked up steam, multiple people came forward confirming the story, adding further details.
Ryan Bernard wrote:
And former Queerty editor Bradford Shellhammer shared:
To the claim of “making out with guys,” a source shared an additional photo with Queerty, claiming it shows Schock doing just that, with his hand down the man’s pants:
While it is the position of Queerty not to out public figures, we make one serious exception when someone has actively hurt LGBTQ people or causes and refused to own up to it. If the photos and accounts are accurate, Schock is out enjoying freedoms won through the sweat and blood of a community he directly harmed at every step of his political career. We would be thrilled to learn that he has changed his opinions about his community and renounced his past, but there is not yet any evidence he has done so.
“I think Aaron has a lot of explaining to do,” said noted journalist Itay Hod, senior writer at the Hollywood site The Wrap who first outed Schock in 2014. “While we are all sympathetic to the struggle of coming out of the closet, for years Schock was one of the most homophobic members of Congress, actively working against the community. I think he owes the LGBTQ community an apology before we embrace him as a private citizen.”
We have reached out to Schock on Instagram to ask whether he’s officially come out and if he regrets any of his anti-LGBTQ voting record and as of press time had not heard back.
This post will be updated should the former Congressman decide to reply.

What’s wrong with him making out with gay friends of his? Maybe he just came out. Maybe he wants to be in the closet. His life, his choice.
Xzamilloh
He spent the majority of his time in Congress voting AGAINST LGBT measures/rights. That is also his choice, but that doesn’t make him any less of an odious human being who used his power to torpedo his own community.
But nice attempt at moral trolling.
PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS
YOU ARE BEYOND WRONG!!! This smcubag multiple times voted to deny Gays equality and to do harm to our community. His life his choice except when his choices harm millions of Gay people
AgainNagain
All you guys can find someone to get mad at but what about hard drug use, sex and porn addiction, and promiscuity, chemsex parties in the gay community? You can cherry pick what you are angry about but when it’s all said and done, not everyone agrees with your narrow-mindedness.
roth99
Mr. Schock was one of the most homophobic members in Congress. I think it would be national news if he had come out recently. His hypocrisy, like many others in public life, needs to be brought to the nation’s attention. He is now benefitting from the Stonewall revolt of the late ’60s and ’70s, of that there can be little doubt.
geb1966
I’d suggest you grab your dictionary and look up the word HYPOCRISY. That might clear some things up, dear.
joseph_buscarino
AgainNagain is obviously a troll, similar name to that other one nation troll or whatever his name is. Trying to focus on negative aspects of the gay community to deflect from the hypocrisy of Mr shock ;p Would be just as easy to focus on all the negative aspects of the heterosexual community… Infidelity, divorce, domestic violence etc. Or religious communities.. Hypocrisy, insensitivity, corruption, molestation. So guess we aren’t the only ones who can cherry pick a topic.
Ttrotski
PETScan studies, years ago, debunked the idea that one can be “addicted” to either sex or pornography: the brain simply does not fire with those behaviours in any way differently for those labeled sex/pornography addicts than for the general population. Labeling those behaviours addictions and/or dependencies continues to happen because a billion dollar industry has arisen in response to our disallowal and disapproval of them based on artificial, non-biological considerations such as religious and social mores. You write of personal choice, yet you seem blind to the wholly personal choice that drug usage is and has been throughout human existence and is common behaviour amongst all warm blooded creatures and most vertebrates. Well intentioned or not, anti drug laws do not confirm a moral or biological failing for the user, but the realities of such behaviours do confirm both moral and biological failings in those laws. As well, Mr. Schock’s betrayal of our community, double standards, and the oppressive overreach of government in our biological and social autonomy, is overwhelmingly driven by a Republican Party that is forcing the religious and philosophical choices they have made for themselves onto a population that has no desire or impetus to adopt them; clearly a moral failing for a society that holds freedom as it’s principlal value.
DCguy
What a shock, one of the anti-LGBT troll accounts who defends Trump is here to defend somebody who actively sought to HARM LGBTS.
johnozed
Aw, Quisling….you are so wrong. Can you be any wronger? I believe in you!

Exactly. He’s entitled to have his own opinion on gay policies. I would vote against gay marriages and for “don’t ask don’t tell” too. It doesn’t make me less gay. I just find gay marriages horrible, and army is not made for telling the world you’re LGBTQAI+.
fur_hunter
You’re a MORON! Did you not read and know he was ANTI-GAY??? Didn’t you get that??? He was a politician who would not support legislation to help the Gay Community. GET IT, you stupid @$$? You must be dense as a BRICK!
BShade77
you stupid azz face. Read about his previous time spent voting against gays.
BGinBigD
Obviously you failed to read the article. The entire gay population knows/should know what a hypocrite Schock has been during his public service. If you are too ignorant to realize this, then probably you simply want to get in his pants. Either way, you’re stupid.
Dick Gozinia
He could have lived ‘his life, his choice’ without casting votes that infringe upon the rights of other LGBTQ to live their lives according to their choices.
t
I’m so glad you’re comfortable with your, “His life, his choice,” attitude about him when he clearly does NOT have the same feelings about people who prefer the his life, his choice attitude. This is hypocrisy at it’s most intolerable and he needs to be called out on it, as does any other rethug or dem that votes against the advancement of our community’s rights.
SFHarry
When he voted against us in congress is that another example of “his life, his choice.”
You in some ways are just as bad as him. People who harm the gay community are not just given a pass. What are we just pushovers?
Kangol
Ah, the hypocritical name-changer CastleSF/HereAgain/AgainNagain is at it again. It was also Aaron Schock’s “choice” to actively work against gay people when he was a closeted gay man in Congress, damaging the lives of countless people, so of course you’d defend him. Then again, you also defended a man who’d kept two young gay men hostage, so defending creeps is maybe just your thing. Don’t you ever tire of your trollacious shtick?
Juanjo
Just as welcome as a herpes outbreak, here is this troll with another comment
sexyhoustonguy79
Don’t forget to add racism when it come to the gay community. They claim to be all about equality, but I’ve never met a bigger bunch of racists and discriminatory people in my life. No this no that no fat no old no Asians. Even rednecks aren’t this discriminatory!
grethomory
Aaron is the most dangerous kind of gay in the world. They will throw you under a bus to protect their own self-interests. Just like some of these so-called pastors who get caught. I said it once before that I swore I saw him in Chicago in a gay bar before he became involved in Congress, but wasn’t sure. Looking at him closer it was him. I was living/working in Chicago at that time. Just sad.
Topman60640
Surprised to see you back, new screen name and all, so soon after that chick dropped a house on your sister.
Troll elsewhere Mary.
menuga
Personally, I think hrs to be commended. Of all the people hosting, it’s the LGBT community. Yes, he cited on something but as things fit the community….AT THAT TIME! Doesn’t know on remember how difficult it’s WAS or CAN be to come out.
Maybe he’s reached that point. NOW, he comfortable with himself. Enjoying the things like so many of us do, Shevardnadze I dare say VERY few critics have nevertheless told someone, “No, I’m not gay” (sometimes while on their knees!).
At least he finally DONE IT!
He fine too he better and stuff, (votes, denials, lies, etc while he was a republican politician). But he put that behind him too. UNLIKE, Jim Jordan. Doug Collins, Ms. Lindsey Graham, Mike Penis, tRump….idiot that he is. Band transgender 1 month, with a VP that “hates homosexuality”, and then he was the First Republican president to acknowledge Pride Month. Of course it wS a campaign ploy, because he too is against homosexuality, BUT……..
And Mike Penis says he won’t be around WOMEN, without mother with him. He doesn’t say anything about his ring around men without her. And he spends lot of tune with Ms.Graham. Often…ALONE,
Just year year she also addressed in an interview the she wasn’t gay too. And we all know that’s not true. Look what a drama queen he us when he/she gets the spotlight.
menuga
But……after reading through these reply’s,
It sounds like instead of Mary being mad at him for his congressional record, she’s more jealous about him getting some or someone getting it from him, than they are any record. The toys just aren’t cutting for them, and I guess they write this reply’s after coming hone from the bar, drink, at 4 a.m. ALONE!
Black Pegasus
Aaron Schock is a disgusting piece of shtt!
He should be dragged all across the internet for his self loathing and hypocrisy. And what about the sorry sacks of gay men who are friends with this anti gay bastard? All of them are vile!
fur_hunter
Thank you. People who are two-faced @$$ holes irk the $H!T out of me. He can EAT $H!T and DIE!
sexyhoustonguy79
Why? When the gay community doesn’t even respect members of its own community?
menuga
Grethomory that’s just a typical gay man. It’s not just him that’ll do it, 98% of all of them will to advance themselves.
Xzamilloh
This is the first time I’m grossed out by seeing two dudes kiss.
Franco
As if there isn’t enough hypocrisy in the world we now have one more AgainNAgain condoning this behavior. Have you no shame? You must be a child because those of us who are old enough remember how hard we had to fight to get to where we are today and how easy it is to lose what we have earned by supporting this kind of person. Just disgusted!
Brian
It’s not hypocrisy, it’s just his standard MO of trolling. If this was a picture of any other gay person with his hand down someone’s pants in public, he would be calling him a disgusting, drugged up s lut.
He’s a loser who gets his jollies by always taking the contrary position here and getting people like you worked up. I’m sure his self perceived cleverness keeps him erect the entire time he’s posting here. Queerty keeps kicking him off and he keeps coming back under new names. He really should consider a new hobby.
fur_hunter
Thank you very much. You are so correct.
Toofie
Exactly. If it was an article about hot shirtless guys having fun, that troll would be clutching her pearls over how gross and inappropriate it is to be shirtless in public.
redzebra1
He’d defend the Nazi scum that went to a Tiki torch rally and shouted, “Jews will not replace us!” if they were closeted gay men, esp. if ripped. I guess he wants to bed them, just doesn’t want to admit it……just exclaim “He had a choice, we must respect his choices!”
bonbon
What a contemptible slag.
fur_hunter
He’s a total POS @$$ hole as far as I’m concerned.
jayjay333
It’s irritating to see someone like Schock enjoying the freedom of now being (semi) openly gay in public while he fought so hard against those liberal ideals that have allowed him to now live a somewhat openly gay life.
As a state rep, he did everything he could to NOT support gay rights! He wasn’t even lukewarm about it – he dug his heels in deep and made it clear that being gay is not okay in his book.
Kangol
But this is what so many gay con-servatives do. I remember that horrible Arthur Finkelstein, who worked behind the scenes to elect countless horrible homophobic politicians, many of whom actively campaigned and voted against gay marriage, then was first in line to marry his husband as soon as gay marriage had become law. Or Mary Cheney, who actively supported her anti-gay father Dick Cheney, then when she and her lesbian partner decided to marry, he supported her and she benefitted from the decades of activism of those on the Left, but not once did she or Dick Cheney ever apologize for all the active support of anti-gay laws or other anti-gay right-wing Republican politicians.
funpitt412
He is a total hypocrite but what do you expect from someone Illinois? That state only produces crooks!
Kangol
Your comment is so inane it’s beyond absurd.
redzebra1
Beyond hypocrisy on his part. Not renounced one single vote or statement, etc. Yes I’m sure a ripped fellow like him is divine in bed……but oh no, it’s bad if YOU have SSM or same-gender sex, ooooh no! It’s for HIM, not anyone else and his apologist friends
Brian
Yeah, I don’t think someone as self absorbed as he obviously is is divine in bed. He’s the type who would just lie there and make you do all the work, then bail on you 30 seconds after his orgasm.
AgainNagain
All you guys who are super mad at him, are you sure you are not just jealous of his good looks and new found happiness? Don’t you like his new buzz cut? He can’t be worse than those porn actors who engage in risky and reckless behaviors in front of a camera.
Apolodorus
Those porn actors didn’t actively try to curtail anyone else’s rights, mr. Troll from Troll planet ?.
Jimmyk321
Troll! Troll in the dungeon! Thought you ought to know.
DCguy
And ANOTHER troll account that regularly defends bigots trying to defend somebody who fought to harm LGBT people while he was in office.
Queerty, time to screen these anti-LGBT trolls.
theafricanwiththemouth
Gosh you are disgusting….
You’re probably the kind of gay guy who would suck the balls of creeps like schock and pence, just to climb the social ladder. Your opinion is like dirt, messy and unintelligent. Also, if this was an attempt at being snide and snarky, sorry sis but it’s quite the fail as you only come off as SHA- LA-LA-LA-LA-LOW (in lady gaga voice).
So thank you, next troll.
theafricanwiththemouth
Also, i don’t see why your small mind is bringing porn actors into this. Porn actors are 1 billion times better human beings than this trash bag. They aren’t trying to make life worse for the LGBT community. Instead, their art helps make life better, especially for semi-closet, self hating cases like your bestie Schock who worships them like god’s in his privacy and then like a hypocrite, tries to take away their gay rights in public.
How vile!
fur_hunter
Aahhh….excuse me….If he were the last man on earth….he would NOT be with me. I don’t think he’s attractive one bit. And his actions are a total turn off to me. He’s an arrogant POS.
Doug
Obviously AgainNagain is here to troll and see if he can rile people up with his inane, naive comments. Anybody who could defend Schock needs their head examined.
Kangol
Wrong, as usual! Try again, CastleSF/HereAgain/AgainNagain.
redzebra1
ALL GLBTIQ venues in North America, esp. Hollywood which he’s visiting atm with nephews, BAN or BLACKLIST HIM NOW! Don’t let this POS in. KEEP HIM OUT!
redzebra1
Just banned me on Instagram! Yeah! God forbid he ask a politely worded question on his hypocrisy!
Black Pegasus
Aaron Schock is blocking and deleting user comments on his Instagram. And his friends pictured in the photo are doing the same. 🙂
theafricanwiththemouth
Wow, such a vile, disgusting group of gay’s. They probably love being part of his social circle seeing as he’s still probably loaded..
Truth is, any gay guy who associates with him is either highly ignorant and oblivious of his actions, or just a vile, nasty, evil person. Periodt!
xflare
lol… Have just noticed he’s also blocked me for some reason, I did make a comment on a post of his a month or so back but cant even remember what it was. Weird
Donston
One of a few times I actually agree with you. People like to talk the talk. But it comes to sacrificing anything or calling out businesses/corporations most stay mum. That’s one of the reasons I don’t take this “allies” stuff all that seriously. As for schlock, it could be water under the bridge if he were to be honest, talk about his struggles and apologize. But I highly doubt that happens. Either way, there’s little point to wasting any energy on being angry at this man. Hypocrisy in the political world is so common that it doesn’t even phase me any longer.
DCguy
Here’s a question, Schock stole tax dollars, committed fraud, was supposed to pay back the money….so where is he getting the funds to do all of this traveling?
spacecadet
He owes a lot of money but he’s still employed with what I assume is at least a decent paying job and he has real estate holdings. Plus, one can be in debt and still fund their necessities in life and leisure activities on credit. And then there’s always family and friends helping out too.
Ronbo
The lure of wealth and power can be all-consuming… including the destruction of ethics and morals.
What is to be learned is to never, ever elect the wealthy. Yes there are good people who are wealthy; but, there are far more people who are twisted into monsters. tRump is one obvious example; but, look at how former President Obama also separated children from their parents, started wars, and escalated regime change assassinations.
The greed for power and wealth rot humanity. How many camels can fit thru the eye of a needle? Damn few.
biron62
I still think he’s cute, and would love to kiss him!
Chrisk
Regime change assassinations like getting rid of Moammar Kadafi. Yes he did make mistakes but I’m not sure what that all has to do with wealth.
spacecadet
“I still think he’s cute, and would love to kiss him!”
So you’re like the others gays in these photos that give him a free pass because of his looks? Where do you draw the line? If he was a murderer? Rapist? Pedophile? Voting on anti-gay legislation while he was himself closeted isn’t bad enough? Do you know what self-respect is?
DCguy
This is an anti-LGBT troll account seeking to deflect from the fact that ANOTHER anti-LGBT Republican was exposed as a self hating closet case.
Kangol
Sorry, conservatroll, but “President Obama” did not separate children from their parents as policy, unlike Drumpf, and did not “start wars.” But good try, TROLL!!!
DCguy
The head of Coachella is anti-LGBT. No WONDER Schock, who pushed for legislation to harm LGBT people is there.
redzebra1
Or didn’t know/care just went there with his enablers and apoligists for ‘some fun’. Some speculate he was one of the guys involved in the BJ on the ferris wheel…..
SportGuy
He is pathetic and the people that hung out and made out with him are just as bad. This trash is anti gay and a racist.
Chrisk
The fact that any gay guy goes to Coachella shows how pathetic they are. Never mind the owner is a right-wing bigot who gives money to anti-gay groups.
IWantAFullBeard
The question is who would make out with that garbage? He should be ostracized.
redzebra1
Fellow narcissists! IF they knew what his background was…..they’re 2-faced, selfish man-whores then obviously! Not all people have principles. Some men just want sex with ripped men, no matter how ‘tainted’ they are! Selfish!
Kangol
@IWantAFullBeard, you ask: “The question is who would make out with that garbage?”
Queerty’s fave troll-scold CastleSF/HereAgain/AgainNagain thinks he’s “cute” and probably would not only make out with him but do all the things he attacks other gays for on here!
Daggerman
…well to be honest this is rubbish and nothing new because any intelligent person should know all GAY MEN WHO DO NOT ACT GAY, are and will always remain in the closet. Unless something like this happens of-course and their secret gets disclosed!!!!
DCguy
It isn’t about Schock acting stereotypically gay….because he does. It is about him pushing legislation and a party that actively seeks to harm LGBT people all the while happily indulging in the very activities his party seeks to outlaw.
Chrisk
Yeah I’m surprised chick-fil-a didn’t cater the event.
pickles
He found his tribe. ANY LGBTQ at Coachella is so ignorant as to support ANOTHER anti-gay, anti-choice, pro-gun Republican (the “owner” of Coachella) deserves to be outed not just for their homophobia but also their failed judgement. There’s PLENTY of fun in the world… no good gay needs to give their gay dollars to the phone from Coachella.
AgainNagain
I wonder how many gays can pass your gay purity tests. You can’t vote for Republicans. You can’t dine at Chick-fil-a or Carls Jr. You can’t attend any events sponsored by a conservative and you can’t vote for the wealthy. Ironically, it’s quite OK to go to the drug fueled White Party, Black Party, Hustle Ball, disgusting Folsom Fair and any other chemsex party. So you give yourself a pass on choosing what is right for you but others are forbidden to. Very smart!
DCguy
@AgainNagain
Isn’t it interesting, you will ALWAYS defend a bigot, somebody who has harmed an LGBT person, or a politician trying to pass laws against us.
“Purity Test” hmmm, yeah, I’d say not wanting to associate with a person or a business who is actively seeking to hurt us is a fine “Purity Test”. And sweetie, if you have to hide bigotry and hate behind words like that you’ve already lost.
Billy Budd
Schock is despicable. Disgusting. He is the lowest form of life on Earth. He is not even a human fuc*ing being! He is nothing but unorganized grabasstic pieces of amphibian shtt.
AgainNagain
Did you miss your anti-anxiety meds today, Billy?
DCguy
@AgainNagain
Your desperation to defend every single anti-LGBT bigot or self hating closet case is incredibly consistent.
Aires the Ram
As an older Garth Brooks song goes: “It was bound to happen, and one day it did…”.
That being said, he’s now outed, and if he doesn’t like it, it’s his own damn fault. I “get it” that people can and do change as they grow older. Don’t forget that Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and Barak Obama were against equal marriage, and it was Bill Clinton who brought us the despicable “don’t ask-don’t tell” policy in the military. But, Schock, because of his voting record, should have known that if he was going to effectively come out publicly, he should have first put his house in order by making a statement on social media that he apologizes for his voting record on gay/lesbian issues, and is a homosexual man himself. That’s what he should’ve done, even though some would still shun him. If he does not do that pretty quickly, then I believe he deserves the scorn he will receive.
DCguy
The desperation of the defenders of Republicans is just pathetic. Clinton hasn’t been president for nearly 2 decades. See what we’re talking about is a Republican who voted to harm LGBT people being exposed as a self hating closet case.
Now that you’re back on topic….
Aries3dc
Your revisionist history is tiresome. President Clinton invested significant political capital trying to make it OK for gays to serve openly in the military. He agreed to the DADT compromise only after military leaders refused to give him what he really wanted. While imperfect, that incremental policy eventually gave way to gays serving openly.
tr6886
Republicans really like to pull Obama’s name as a shield. Obama has never voted, zero record, on any anti-LGBT legislation.
AxelDC
So was Bernie Sanders. What’s your point? Half of Americans changed their minds on gay rights.
It’s just said that Republicans still oppose our rights and want to roll back what we earned when Obama was President.
Kangol
Barack Obama supported same-sex marriage as an Illinois state senator representing a mostly black district on Chicago’s South Side. Look it up! Also, it wasn’t Bill Clinton who “bought us the despicable ‘don’t ask-don’t tell’ policy in the military,” it was the Republican Congress. Again, look it up!
AxelDC
Good for him. Just stay out of politics.
talktalktalk
what a vile waste of skin. The hypocrisy of his voting record is bad enough. Though frankly his theft of taxpayer money to fund his lavish lifestyle is far worse. Well done for publishing this queerty.
UlfRaynor
Aries3dc While Clinton claimed that was his intent, he was still commander and chief of the armed forces, he didn’t need military leaders support to allow gays to serve openly (see Trump ban on trans people joining the military, Obama’s repeal of of DADT), he chose political capital over doing what he campaigned he would do to appease detractors, just like he did when he signed DOMA.
The real truth, his DADT policy and lack of leadership and real support for the LGBT community led to the biggest witch hunt in the history of the US military.
If his intent was to be our ally, he could have changed the policy any time, like say, right before he left office.
If anyone is guilty of revisionist history it’s people like you who bought into the Clinton’s constant queerbaiting.
paul dorian lord fredine
you reached out for a comment? do you seriously expect a reply, other than maybe ‘i was taken out of context’?

I see all sides on this one. My feelings are that it’s the individuals personal choice to be in the closet or out. We don’t know the circumstances of their lives. But, I agree if you stand in public and vote to do harm against any individual or group you get what’s coming to you. Karma’s a bitch.

Bill Clinton signed DOMA and Hillary opposed gay marriage – yet they’re icons today? selective outrage.
Toofie
Neither is gay. And both have come around anyway. But nice defection attempt.
dwes09
They changed their positions, and acknowledged their mistakes. Shock has done no such thing. It is incredible to see gay men like you (if you are, in fact a gay man) defending those who have worked HARD to keep us disenfranchised or to turn back the progress we have made.
dean089
“There’s just one problem: While serving as the United States Representative for Illinois’ 18th congressional district from 2009 until 2015…” Except he’s not doing that anymore. Some say that homophobes are self-hating closet-cases. It looks like he’s working on that, but we’re going to persecute him forever and ever. Because that’s what we do. If you thought you were alone just leave the closet. The gay community will show you what ‘alone’ is all about. As long as he’s no longer working against us and never does it again, let the man live his life. Isn’t that what we’re always going on and on (and on) about?
AgainNagain
Most gay commentators here are bitter and mean and they don’t know anything about forgiveness and second chances. All they want to do is pick one or two individuals and launch their vicious attacks on them. They won’t stop until they find their next target. Their strategy, if you think about it, is exactly the same as the right ring nutjobs. The only thing that separates them is their ideology. Both are vile and both are vindictive.
Paco
I must have missed the part where he apologized and asked for forgiveness. Oh that’s right… he hasn’t. He is an unapologetic hypocrite and doesn’t deserve to be welcomed with open arms.
redzebra1
@AgainNagain at it again! Delete your account!
jayjay333
I know gay people who spent their teens and early 20’s closeted and made a public display of being anti-gay to throw people off of the scent. But Shock was in his 30’s and in an important, high profile job as a state rep and he was voting against gay rights over and over and over again.
And now he wants to casually immerse himself into a gay community and wouldn’t even have the freedom to live as an openly gay man if it wasn’t or the gay liberals before him that made that possible.
Schock is the guy who shows up at a pot luck dinner empty handed and then selfishly eats all of the food even though he brought nothing to the table. He owes the gay community an apology.
DCguy
@AgainNagain
Interesting that your fall back is to attack “Gays” and defend the person who harmed them…..oh wait, that’s what you do EVERY time there is a post about a Republican that tried to harm LGBTs.
Onecaddy13
My god, Who cares what’ he’s doing. He’s so irrelevant, he has to answer to one man only! lets move on to more important subjects.
Donston
For the most part I agree. He’s no longer in congress and has already been “disgraced”. So, it isn’t a matter of much importance any longer. However, someone vehemently opposing everything gay while holding office despite likely having homo romantic, sexual, relationship leanings and also using tax payers’ money on his boytoys and vacations- it’s not really something to merely be swept under the rug. It’s rather overt hypocrisy, self-hate and criminal behavior. He also has yet to fess up to any of it. If he were a real man and “came clean” I really would see little point in continuing to even talk about him. Either way, I’m still over talking about him.

What you are describing is an example of “shit all over us, we don’t care.” We have had quite a few examples of people who actively work against the gay community and then we just don’t care, especially if they are hot.
It’s craziness.

SFHarry, that’s just a reflection of the self-loathing tendencies many have. Straight/hetero-leaning worship, gay inferiority complexes and “forgiving” a-holes if someone finds them attractive- it’s all unfortunately fairly common stuff. But I’m over getting up in arms over it. And honestly, if any of those attendees and artists were truly supportive and true “allies” none of them would have been at Coachella to begin with. So much of everything is about convenience, selective memory, sociology and hypocrisy.

This is a man who while in office tried to outlaw LGBT civil rights. He even voted against allowing LGBT people to serve in the military….to say nothing about him voting to outlaw marriage, he voted that being LGBT was a legitimate reason to deny someone a job, so excuse the rest of us for loudly exposing ANOTHER example of rabid anti-LGBT bigots turning out to be self hating closet cases.

Dcguy,
An artist simply cannot not play Coachella these days. If that makes any sense. Coachella is the biggest music event of the year and it would be career suicide in some ways to say no. Besides, playing at an event doesn’t mean supporting the hate and what not that the presenters have. If that were the case then an artist’s tours these days would be cut short or not at all if they decided not to support what the presenter/venue owners views are on certain things. As most everyone these days has views or things they’ve done that may not sit well with others. Nobody is perfect.

Not shocked at all by this, just the average nature of the type of gay who attends Coachella. He just happens to have been a congressman. I have seen so many pics from Coachella from all these supposedly “woke” gays this past week. They’re in the same bucket as the “Aaron’s” of the world. Both sides of the same coin. Aaron suppressed public knowledge of his homosexuality for power and money; not because he’s some scared, questioning gay man coming to grips with his sexuality. These “woke” gays attended Coachella for the likes and attention. If you talk more about single use plastics than gay rights and attend Coachella; you’re not half as “woke” as you think you are. They’re all just awful.

You know it’s always these hypocrite gop like Aaron Schock who deep down has these gay tendencies craving. Yet they manage to be discriminative to his own kind. He is just a total douche bag. He stole money. Guess you feel like an ass now don’t you. Enjoy your 10 minutes. All the dudes will be using that ass over and over.

I’m a bit surprised no one recognised him and gang-bashed him into unconsciousness & bleeding on the ground, like white racists that dare to show up in black majority neighbourhoods. Only his family & ‘friends’ would shed a tear!

Like many ‘closeted’ and gay men, I’m sure he just enjoys bending over and being sexually used by other men. It doesn’t require any emotions, just physical rawness for him, and likely makes him a bit sociopathic. I guess that’s prob why he never considered himself gay??? It’s just physical, not emotional? In any case, he’s a brainless twink to be used

By the way, for those of you saying it doesn’t matter he’s out of Congress, he’s saying he wants to run again.

If you follow the hanky code he’s a bottom

Noone can speak for Schock but himself. However, I do know firsthand that one can be out, open, proud and happy while thinking gay activists want too much from other people. I oppose hate crime legislation, I favor the freedom to decorate a cake as one sees fit, I don’t think any religion should be forced to marry my partner and me, I don’t think trans people should use the bathroom of their identity until they transition their bodies, etc. These are not anti-LGBT positions, but justifiable views of thoughtful people. So, people, we should let conservatives be conservative whether they are gay or straight…and show some tolerance for the gays that don’t wield the sword of the far left like HRC.

From Illinois congressman to power bottom. The transformation is complete!
