Colton Haynes is glowing, ya’ll.
Last week, the 27-year-old actor spoke to EW, confirming what everyone already knew to be true: That he is not the least bit heterosexual.

“I think in due time, everyone has to make those decisions when they’re ready, and I wasn’t yet,” he explained when asked why he had waited so long to come out publicly. “But I felt like I was letting people down by not coming forward.”
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
He continued: “People want you to be that GQ image that you put out, but people don’t realize what it’s like to act 24 hours a day. I’d go home and I was still acting. People who are so judgmental about those who are gay or different don’t realize that acting 24 hours a day is the most exhausting thing in the world.”

Now that the cat’s officially out of the bag, Haynes seems to be flourishing. The other day, he posted a message on Instagram thanking his fans for the “unbelievable amount of support & love you’ve been sending my way.”
He concluded the post with an inspirational quote: “There once was a man who was afraid of his shadow…he met it…now he glows in the dark.”

He is extremely cute. I wish the industry will still give him Straight Characters to play.

“Relishing in his new found gayness”? Really? Perhaps he feels freer, but his gayness has always been there. He is fortunate to have the courage to come out before the world. Yet, one wonders why the angst since one of his producers on “Arrow” is out and gay and John Barrowman, a Co-star on that series is out and gay. Colton’s being gay, it seems easy to conclude, will not (and, should not) have an adverse impact on his acting career.

Now we can hear all the bigoted excuses for why he suddenly stops getting jobs.
It is LONG past time for the California Attorney Generals office to launch an investigation into movie studios discriminatory practices.

This article doesn’t touch on it, but others I’ve read about Haynes’ coming out mention that he’s been out to family and friends since high school. So being gay isn’t anything new in his life and it’s not the reason he has taken a step back in his career. Also not referenced here is his lifelong battle with crippling anxiety, which he says is the reason he needed to walk away from his television gigs and get out of the spotlight. Hopefully, once he has his mental health issues under control, he’ll be able to get his career back on track and be the out gay working actor role model that we all want him to be. At the moment, he sounds really sensible and I wish him well on his journey.

Freshly Out Colton Haynes Is Relishing In His Newfound Gayness”
Grammar police: You need to get rid of the “in.” It’s just Freshly Out Colton Haynes Is Relishing His Newfound Gayness.

Some needs to play the song from Aladdin: “A whole new world!!!” in the background.

This guy is extremely good looking and though I’m for anyone coming into their own truth and living a great life I can’t help but think the reason he is getting so much press is because he’s great looking. I think if he wasn’t society’s definition of what attractive is he wouldn’t be receiving such a ticker tape parade about coming out. But damn he is pretty. I guess to each his own I just felt like expressing too.

So happy for him hes a lovely guy .

This “Coming Out” stuff really needs to stop. You don’t see straight people “Coming Out” and declaring their heterosexuality, it should be the same with Gay people. After all, we’re supposed to have equality now. SO what difference does it make? By “coming out” it makes it seem that we are not normal when in actuality we are just as normal as straight people.

hahahaa… like he had to come out… really. It amazes me that the most obvious people get such national praise for something that you can tell just by looking about. If there were a picture that exemplified “gay face”… here it is.

@Nahald: We are normal but not typical. People assume that everyone is straight unless told otherwise. Just like people assume that everyone is right handed unless told otherwise. With any luck in the future it will be that telling people you are part of a sexual minority will have the same impact as telling my waiter that I’m left handed so he knows to serve me from the right: they acknowledge what you said and accept it without question.

Nice try, the article also stated that a huge part of the reason for that anxiety was the fact that he had to hide who he was. But please, keep on trying to hide the fact that he is now out and his series has bounced him.

According to friends Colton and I have in common, he is still a virgin, at least when it comes to men. I wonder when he told his brother Joshua, who is openly gay.

Straight people come out every single time they hold hands in public, sit at the table with a spouse and child, send out engagement announcements. For straight celebrities, every time they discuss their boyfriend, girlfriend or spouse they are coming out.
All you are doing is trying to defend people staying in the closet, What’s your real agenda?

Plus, in your own article earlier you mentioned that he had had a lover for several years and they recently broke up! So how can he be “Relishing in his new found gayness”?

@DCguy: Unfortunately, in his case, we can’t gauge any future lack of work in such a way. Colton seems like a great guy but he’s a terrible actor.
