Not five months after the repeal of âDonât Ask, Donât Tellâ and weâve got a viral gay-couple photo, of a Marine named Brandon Morgan jumping in the arms of his partner, Dalan Wells.
âThis is a homecoming pictureâgay, straight, lesbian, no matter who you are, love is love,â said Morgan when profiled on Hawaiian TV station KHON. âWe havenât fought for more rights or better rights than anyone. Weâve fought for equal rights, and now we have them.â
Said an official Marine Corps spokesperson: âItâs your typical homecoming photo.â
Might be, but we think thereâs something special about this one.
How about we take this to the next level?

I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting the straddle… LMAO Cute though

Yeah, but there’s like a five foot height difference between the two of them. He kind of had to… đ

What’s the big fucking deal being made about public displays of affection? There is NOTHING objectionable about the picture — you don’t even actually see the mouth-on-mouth tongue–on-tongue and there is no gratuitous [darn wish there was a little] skin to be seen.
There is much much more sexualization in a Calvin Klein or A&F ad; and there was a lot more smooching in the famous sailor/nurse Times Square V-J Day kiss photo.

Cheers to the happy hunky couple, 4 years and keep going! My hubby and I just celebrated 26 years together, the last 4 legally married [thank you Massachusetts]. Wishing you well.

OK
now they have to do a porno

The New York Times and the Los Angeles Time have refused to publish the picture of the two male Marines kissing.

If you’re putting your life on the line to protect American freedom, a kiss is the least you deserve – gay, bi, or straight.

Adorable picture. THIS is what the right wing was terrified of. When you have a Marine who has done 3 tours overseas in a war zone, it’s nearly impossible for them to attack him without looking bad.
Welcome home!!

@jason: Citation. Is this true?

This is a very adorable picture. It is no worse than many similar pictures of straight couples in clinches that have been considered classics of photography over the years. I know this picture will give hope and encouragement to scared and lonely teenagers. Welcome home Marine. Thanks for being awesome and congratulations on finding love đ

God bless these guys and thanks to this marine for putting his life on the line three times. The the Christofascists haven’t made one hateful comment about any of the straight couples liplocked in the same manner over the years. Their hypocrisy only gets more evident as each day goes bye.

AS A FORMER MILITARY BRAT, I FIND THIS TO BE A VERY POS. STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. THIS IS SOOOO HEARTWARMING. I AM SOOO TICKLED PINK!!!! I CAN’T WAIT FOR THIS TO BE A “NORMAL” OCCURANCE ON ALL MILITARY BASES. WHEN I MEAN “NORMAL”, I MEAN NBD 4 THE STR8T COMMUNITY. HOPEFULLY, THEY WILL SEE LUV AS LUV- AND THAT’S ALL. HOPE REIGNS ETERNAL!!!

@TASTEY GOODIES: STOP FUCKING YELLING. I CAN’T EVEN GET THROUGH YOUR FUCKING COMMENT.

The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times still haven’t published the picture of the male-male kiss. Yet, there were amongst the first to publish the female-female kiss at the Navy homecoming last month.

@jason: Perhaps you have a different search engine? As you so regularly use opinions as “facts” and make idiotic jumps of mislogic, I checked both the NY Times and LA Times. Using their search of stories/archives, neither the NY Times nor the LA Times show any response, under articles or photos, of either the Brandon Morgan kiss or the Gaeta Snell kiss — NONE.
Claiming the not publishing a photo is the same thing as refusing to publish a photo is false [unless you are the editor of both newspapers]. That, as of yet, could simply be the editors’ belief, as recounted by zillions of others, what is the news value and why is this even news [though I believe it is news — oh, and jason, that’s an opinion, not a fact].
So what that neither Times published either photo? It is not as though they are the only news sources. There is, as yet, no posting of the photo at NBC, CNN or FOX.
But ABC has it and NPR ran a segment about the photo including an interview yesterday, and Hawaiian TV is all over the story.
Women in general and lesbians in particular, do not have some magical mystery powers that inflate their power over men such that deny gay men of anything. The enemies of gay rights are lunatic religious zealots, and idiots like you jason, who advocate voting for repugnantans since democrats don’t just hand over equality to us. Sheer lunacy that the likes of any GOP presidential hopeful is somehow preferable to Obama. You are proof that lunacy and idiocy are not limited to straight religious homophobic bigots.

You don’t fall in love with a gender, colour or religion. You fall in love with a person.
