When it comes to love, Laverne Cox likes to take it slow.
Last month, the Emmy-nominated actress let it be known that she was smitten, but stopped short of naming who the lucky guy was. Well, now the mystery man’s identity has finally been revealed. Sort of.
Speaking to Access Hollywood last month, Laverne confessed that she met her new beau on Tinder.
“Honestly, I’m a Tinder girl,” she said. “When I broke up with my ex, I went back on Tinder, because I feel like if you want to date, you have to be on the apps. You have to be on the apps to be in the game.”
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Now, after keeping her man a secret for nine months, Laverne has shared a photo of the couple cuddling in bed. The pic was posted on her Instagram story, along with a bunch of happy heart emojis.
So who exactly is Laverne’s new bare-chested, blue-eyed beau?
Well, despite the uncanny resemblance, it’s not Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak-Biermann’s husband Kroy Biermann.
Laverne is still being coy and not naming names…yet.
“Love is so incredibly healing,” the actress said last month. “I’m just so happy. When you’re happy. Love is life-saving.”
Congrats to the happy couple!

I am a 54 yr old life-long lesbian, and I subscribe to Queerty in order to be informed about what’s happening in our LGBT world…yet it seems like anytime some individual has a personal story about themselves, a dozen or so jackasses have to rise up and negatively claim that the whole thing is for a “look at me” moment. Laverne Cox is a famous actress on a still-running popular Netflix series; millions of viewers -straight AND of the LGBT crowd- see her regularly, any time they want to tune in. So explain to me how this person is only looking for attention when featured in this on-line magazine, lol…she already has PLENTY of attention through loyal viewers and fans. Stand down, Negative Nellies; your jealousy is showing, lol….and I know that now I’ve said my piece, the haters will have something rotten to say about ME, too. Go for it…I’m too old to care, lol…

Don’t become infected by the Brian. I can tell you’re a good person. Stay that way.

What are you venting about? I see no comments here.
DarkZephyr
I agree with you 100% Felecia.
@jd.cali, we have a fairly new excellent moderator who probably deleted all of the comments Felecia was talking about and thank goodness. Maybe now some of the embarrassing superficiality that has plagued this site’s comment section for years will finally die the death it so richly deserves.

I’ll always love Laverne

What a shock, one of the anti-LGBT account names comes in to…
1. Deflect from a nice article about somebody trans
2. Post an article about why civil rights for lgbts are bad.
jd.cali
@DC… what are you talking about? That’s not what Lacuevaman posted.
DCguy
jd.
1. He posted an article not relevant to the post so that account is trying to deflect the topic from anything nice or normalizing of trans people (As you can tell by past postings)
2. The article is about how same sex marriage will destroy lgbt culture.
So please point out your exact area of disagreement.
DarkZephyr
@DCGuy, agreed. The article is unrelated to the topic at hand. Perhaps our moderator will delete it.
@Lacuevaman, if you want Queerty to cover the article you linked to, I suggest that you scroll to the bottom of the page and click “share a tip”. That is the best way to get Queerty’s attention on anything you think it needs to look at. That doesn’t mean they WILL cover it, but if they decide its noteworthy they will.

Lacuevaman’s comment was deleted for being absolutely ridiculous.

I’m wondering if even Laverne Cox realizes what kind of an impact seeing her has on younger people? She, Neil Patrick Harris, Ellen DeGeneres, etc… anything that shows these kids that they aren’t alone is so impactful and important.
Good for her, Glad she’s having fun in her relationship!
