Like everyone, we adore both drag queens and covered bridges. But inexplicably, no one has dared to combine our to passions — until now!
New England artist Andre Rosa has created what may be the greatest mashup of unrelated objects since the platypus: The Drag Queens & Covered Bridges of New Hampshire.
Yes, they’re available in a calendar and as postcards. Of course.
Creating the gorgeous images was apparently a bit traumatic, even in the gay-friendly northeast: he encountered a frosty reception from the owners of Clark’s Trading Post Bridge, and outright bigotry from the owners of Barlett Bridge, who denied his request on the grounds that the bridge was a “wholesome place.”
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
But on the bright side, a family in Conway was totally enamored with the project, with a little girl convinced that the model was Lady Gaga.
“This is my love letter to New Hampshire,” Rosa writes, and as love letters go it is flawless.

Now, this is the most fantastic use of covered bridges since the first act plot point in Beetlejuice! Good stuff. It somewhat abates my paralyzing fear of drag queens, too.

I’m not sure why, but this just cracked me up. It was stripped down old fashioned meets over the top.
