PHOTOS: Elle UK Reveals New David Beckham Cover

Elle UK has chosen David Beckham to be the first man to grace its cover because—well, why not?

There are two versions of the issue, which hits news stands on Wednesday, May 30: The “rugged sex beast” edition, above, and a “sexy DILF” version, below.

“David Beckham is a national hero—he is an icon and Elle is known for featuring icons on its cover,”  says Elle UK editor-in-chief Lorraine Candy. “This is a first for us on the newsstand and I believe he is loved by men and women alike. Anyway, who doesn’t want to see a picture of one of the world’s most handsome men on the front cover of a magazine? It will be a collector’s issue.”

We’ll take two copies, thank you.

      The guy who tatooed David should be immediately arrested for taking advantage of the feeble minded.

      In my teens, I thought he was the most beautiful man in the world.
      And I generally go for the older man, but I see nothing attractive about him at all these days.
      The tattoos may have something to do with it.
      I like some tattoos on a man, but that’s way over-doing it. :(

      @jason: By “over-rated Brit”, do you mean as a Brit he’s over-rated or that he’s over-rated and British? :/

      I tend to dislike tattoos if they’re overdone on a person, but I find David Beckham’s attractiveness overpowering. I’ll just imagine (fantasize) that Beckham calls on a late Friday afternoon, telling me he has the whole weekend to spend alone doing nothing, except to give me the chance to join him for the weekend to try licking the ink off of him.

      I’m typing this one-handed now. Thank you, David Beckham!

      I don’t get why all these david beckham and cristiano ronaldo types are such an attraction.

      There looks never translate well into old age and they just end up not looking distinguished in the end. Beckham is already losing half of his head hair and getting premature wrinkles. Hardly handsome or sexy is it?

      Men like George Clooney, Tom Cruise and Keanu Reeves will always look handsome and just seem too get better as they get older. Guys like becks and brad pitt on the other hand well there looks just end up nose diving.

      Just my opinion but Beckham in my mind will always be the king of ‘overrated looks’.
