In today’s episode of Evangelical Christians Be Cray, Rev. Franklin Graham is going all the way in on gay christians, bisexuals, and pretty much the entire LGBT community.
Since crazy loves company, Graham decided to share his thoughts with Focus on the Family founder Dr. James Dobson on Dobson’s Family Talk radio show earlier this week.
To Graham, gay Christians aren’t normal people with different sexual orientations who still believe in Christianity. Nope, that would be too easy and believing that may just make them human beings. To him, they’re “the enemy” and they must be stopped from “influencing the children.”
Is it us, or have these people been “thinking about the children” since sometime in the late 1950s when they were the children? Does LGBTQ equality turn children into deviants that we all somehow need to be protected from?
How about we take this to the next level?

We need answers, Focus on the Family! Of course, they have none, but what Graham does have is a big batch of crazy mixed with good old-fashioned paranoia:
“We have allowed the enemy to come into our churches. I was talking to some Christians and they were talking about how they invited these gay children to come into their home and to come into the church and that they were wanting to influence them.”
“And I thought to myself, they’re not going to influence those kids, those kids are going to influence those parents’ children. What happens is we think we can fight by smiling and being real nice and loving. We have to understand who the enemy is and what he wants — he wants to devour our homes. He wants to devour this nation.”

To those in denial, this *is* true Christianity. The Bible says gay people should be killed, and Jesus said that not one jot or tittle of the Old Testament law is changed. For 95% of the history of Christianity there was little if any controversy: they executed gay people. I sometimes think this man is certifiable. What I don’t know is if he’s more a danger to us or to himself. He certainly does not possess the ideals and Christian values his father does. I am quite certain that his father is anti- same sex marriage but his father is very tolerant and accepting of gays and Christians and not juxtaposed like Franklin. I only think of the Oral Roberts empire in Tulsa with Roberts Jr. spewing hatred about LGBT folks and he himself in past years was spotted in several gay bars in Oklahoma City. This is funny for a number of reasons. First off, it confirms that Christians are only ever nice to non-Christians because they think they can convert them to their religion.
Secondly, Graham’s probably right that the gay kids will be more likely to influence the other kids, not into being gay, but into realizing that all people are equal and having equal rights just makes logical sense in our country rather than trying to deny rights based on a false belief in a sky-daddy who is apparently obsessed with who you sleep with in the privacy of your own bedroom.
They know they’re on the losing side and it takes only a small amount of common sense and logic to put a bullet in to the head of their ideals, so they want to sequester themselves away from the rest of logical society to continue indoctrinating their children.
