It doesn’t matter where he goes, Ryan Lochte always seems to bring the drama.
The 32-year-old gold medalist, who is currently under investigation by authorities in Rio for possibly lying to investigators about being robbed at gunpoint during last month’s Olympic games, was cast in the latest season of Dancing With The Stars. During last night’s premiere, two men stormed the stage wearing anti-Lochte t-shirts.

The incident happened while Lochte and his partner, Cheryl Burke, were receiving their critique from the judges. Suddenly, Sam Sododeh and Barzeen Soroudi ambushed the stage displaying “No Lochte” t-shirts. They were quickly tackled by security. Meanwhile, four to five other women chanted against Lochte from the audience, as the rest of the auditorium erupted into chaos.
How about we take this to the next level?

Despite having tickets to the event, the men were arrested and booked for trespassing. Meanwhile, the women were escorted out of the building.

Lochte was left rattled by the incident.
“We thought it was a joke, something prior to the show, you know,” he told media outlets afterwards. “Then, when we realized it wasn’t. That hurt. It broke my heart that people are still on that subject and no one is moving forward.”
Afterwards, several people posted videos of the incident to social media. Check out the footage below…

Sam Sododeh and Barzeen Soroudi? Ryan should be thankful they weren’t suicide bombers.
Our new country’s going to be great!

Odds are the men will be prosecuted under California Penal Code Section 602(k), defined as entering onto another’s property to interfere with business, in this case, the production of the TV show. Trespass can be charged as an infraction (with, I believe, a $100 fine), a misdemeanor with a six months or $1,000 fine, or as a felony (though that would be unlikely here as there need to be aggregating factors that do not seem to be present). If they are charged with felony trespass, the two men could also be charged with burglary as the entered with the intent to felony. My guess is they will charged with the inflation and fined.

@Kieran:
Considering a Trump/Putin future, I’d say we are doing alright and hanging on by a thread.

@MacAdvisor: I’ve had dirty talk be less sexy! A man that knows the laws, as they apply to local jurisdiction – intelligence is an aphrodisiac!
That said, considering Lochte’s past – how are we so sure that this too, is not another of his ‘stunts’?
Personally, I think that it is time for him to hang up his thong, and move on. The fact that he has the audacity to demand public attention after the ‘stunt’ he pulled in Brazil – well he has been known to be less than intelligent before…
Apart from his recent sponsorship pull, and bans – team USA should distance themselves from the swimmer – permanently. His example now directly jeopardizes the standing of American athletes around the globe. The tone-deaf career choices of his are further inflaming domestic tensions as well. Discussion of that though, will lead to a topic that most of the Queerty audience has handled poorly in the past.
paul dorian lord fredine
he revealed himself to be an immature little pissant and a liar but this breaks his heart?
jdboston617
We are “moving forward”, Ryan. People hate you in the present and at least the near future. 🙂 So own it.
Matt Achine
It broke his heart that the world hasn’t moved on according to his timetable. Aww, poor baby. Meanwhile there’s no word on heartbreak over a prominent white man failing upward yet again. It’s a Lochte-Brian Williams-Mel Gibson world!
highestbidder
@Matt Achine: yes, failing upwards by dedicating his life to his sport and working insane hours to keep improving until he is ranked among the best in the entire world. Same with Brian Williams and Mel Gibson. They both prepared and delivered incredible performances to rise to the top of their field. There’s a lot of legitimate reasons to hate those guys without trotting out the prominent white man bugbear.
Ken A.
Totally uncalled for. But this Queerty article is just a commentary, a repeat of what was written in the papers and TMZ. If you wanted to protest him being on the show, they should not have gone on the show. To what purpose. His punishment is being handled by the proper authorities. The rest of us has to mind our own business. However if these guys were Brazilian, I could understand why they would do it. Other than that.
ryantbo
it wasn’t the place for it but no sympathy for him. He did this to himself. Frankly disgusted that DWTS included him this season. Down plays what he did which was get drunk, vandalize and then lie about it all while representing the US at the Olympics
Jack Meoff
Amazed at his audacity to say that “It broke my heart that people are still on that subject and no one is moving forward.” He embarrassed his country and his sport on the most public world stage there is for sporting events yet he expects everyone to just forgive and forget and move on over night.
WhattheF
He forgets that he broke America’s heart. Not to mention how he embarrassed America with his behavior.
Chris
Did any of you read the final reporting on what happened in Brazil? Nothing that he did merits having a gun pulled on him (which happened) nor the kind of vilification by law enforcement not the subsequent punishment by our swimming federation. Even Phelps, whose second run-in with the law entailed a DUI, was banned for all of six months; not 10.
He may be naive and one french-fry short of a happy meal; but he does deserve a second chance — like we would hope to get for ourselves.
SportGuy
Its his own fault for being such a douche bag.
mujerado
@Sukhrajah: He’s not “demanding” attention. The show hired him specifically because he’s controversial. Same reason they hired Rick Perry.
Ryan Lochte did not embarrass the U.S. or his sport; he embarrassed himself. Most ridiculous idea of all, what he did does not “jeopardize the standing of American athletes around the globe.” The people and organizations who needed to punish him have done so. He’s forfeited his cash prizes and is suspended from his sport for a year. Nothing more is needed.
Americans have become too unforgiving. Once a lawbreaker has paid the resulting penalties the debt is settled and the score is reset to zero. I’m amazed by the hard-willed meanness of some of you posting here.
QJ201
The 30 something yuppies pull the same ex frat boy got drunk got stupid couldn’t explain what happened.
EVERY weekend in my hood. They’re just not Olympians, only privileged white boys who pay their fines and slink home.

Life’s a bitch and then you die, Ryan.

Fake.

All a publicity stunt concocted by DWTS. I hope nobody seriously thought that was real.
trusgold
time to let it the fuck go. the guy screwed up drunk we all have He lost a million in endorsements lets move on. I’d still blow you Ryan
trusgold
Why do these idiots care so much about a gas station in Rio. Odds are those 2 yo yos were drunk or drugged
robho3
It’s been like a month since Ryan’s douchebag incident. What did he expect. He needs to lay low for at least a year and then maybe people would be a little more empathetic. Right now he just looks like a media whore(which he is). This guy is dumber than a doornail and I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets voted off first. DWTS always has 2-3 contestants on that are just there for shock and entertainment value. It is a shame because there are some really great serious performers on there. Sometimes it’s hard to take this some seriously.
TomMc
Two words: Poor her.
Gates
He fucked up and he’s more than paid for it Leave the guy alone. All you holier than thou commenters on here really chap my ass. I’m sure not a one of you have ever been drinking and done something stupid, right?
sean_denoyer
Ok, I’m going to defend him a bit. He exaggerated his role. That’s his sin. What the media didn’t bother to follow up was that he spoke only to Billy Bush-there was no police report. How can they accuse them of reporting a false report? Also, the Brazil police chief admitted and it’s on tape that the security guards did wave their gun to “get control”. He admitted that they wouldn’t let them leave unless they paid them for “damages”. Follow up reports from USA Today also found that there WAS NO DAMAGE to a bathroom door, mirrors, soap dispenser. The only thing that was damaged was an already unhinged metal poster. The Brazil Police lied and our American media shouldn’t take the lies of a corrupt police force who were defensive over the DOZENS of robberies, muggings, and even kidnappings of athletes.Lochte should have kept his mouth shut. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/olympics/rio-2016/2016/08/21/investigation-ryan-lochte-rio-olympics-authorities/89082232/s.
