Having made off with the Washington Blade‘s assets for just a few pennies at the Window Media auction, are Kevin Naff and Lynne Brown relaunching the veteran media brand? When the Blade closed, they started the quite excellent DC Agenda. But now there’s an April 30 relaunch event for the Blade? A rebrand? (UPDATE: Yes.)

Here in DC, I have to say, I’m surprised at just how much better DC Agenda is than the Blade was. Apparently they are just name changing it back to Blade, but it is the same group.

^^^ Probably because they’re not saddled with Window (mis)management.

I hope they also have the Blade’s on-line archives. It is an invaluable source of information.

God, I hope so. The first gay paper I ever laid hands on in my life was an issue of the Blade.

I beg to differ on the DC Agenda being better than the Blade. Their politics coverage is just as good, but their entertainment, arts, restaurant coverage is lacking. For that metroweekly is much better.
