If you haven’t gotten your fill of reading about John Travolta’s sordid sex scandals, you’ll be happy to hear that Doug Gotterba, Travolta’s former pilot and alleged lover of six years, is currently negotiating a tell-all book.
The National Enquirer—whose track record is getting eerily good about these things—is reporting that Gotterba has lined up two writers to help him tell his story.
Intrepid gossiphounds might recall the incriminating shot of Travolta lip-locking nanny Jeff Kathlein on an airport runway some years back. At the time, the Pulp Fiction dismissed it as just a warm greeting. (Yeah, if you live in France.)
But Travolta’s former assistant, Joan Edwards and Gotterba’s ex-boyfriend, Robert Britz, have largely confirmed the affair with Gotterba: “Doug told me right at the beginning of our relationship that he’d had a homosexual relationship with John Travolta in the 1980s.” Britz tells the Enquirer, “Doug said John was constantly grabbing at his genital area, but he put up with John’s sexual advances because working for him was ‘lucrative.’”
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Gotterba continued the alleged relationship with Travolta until, according to Britz, Travolta’s weight gain between films became too much for him and his sexual advances began to “repulse him.”
There’s speculation that this could be the final straw for actress Kelly Preston, Travolta’s wife of more than 20 years. After the recent allegations from several male masseurs , as well as two lawsuits, Preston has been keeping a very low profile. This fresh chapter in the seemingly never-ending tale of woe may prove to be too much.

What career?
Bellerophon69
Maybe Kelly Preston already knows JTs gay, although the issue of infidelity could be the real problem for her to accept. Kind of like Travolta is a gay Arnold, only he has the dual problem of coming out and admitting he was unfaithful to his wife, it’s a PR nightmare. Frankly he should man up and nip it all in the bud (providing the story that he is gay is true) by coming out and asking for his wifes fogiveness in public. I still love the man as an actor throughout the years, and if he is gay it probably won’t matter to most movie goers that he is.
w.e.
Ok, if being gay and having gay sex is not a bad thing, as this website supposedly expresses, why should he be ashamed or lose his career? Your very article with its salacious and hateful tone is extremely homophobic and self-hating.
Richard Householder
Who cares if he’s gay, except his wife lol.
I’m gay and no one cares about that.

Nice try little publicist intern. The article said it could be the final straw for his wife. But you are purposely misstating to try to pretend the article said something else about this sad closet case.
As for Kelly Preston, you can’t destroy a sham marriage. If it is exposed as a sham she’ll just take her money and go but there isn’t a marriage there to destroy. She is a loyal Scientologist who has probably been very well compensated.
LadyL
@Cam: Quite succinct, and thank you. You said it much better than I could have.
John McLaren
I worked with Marilu Henner back in the late seventies when she was gracing the covers of all the magazines with Travolta as John’s girlfriend. I asked her if their relationship was serious and she laughed, “Hell no..John is gay” They met years before when they were in “Grease”
Henner originated the role of “Marty” in the Kingston Mines production of Grease in 1971. She played “Marty” in the national touring company alongside John Travolta, who played “Doody”. They were close platonic pals so when John needed a beard she gladly helped him out while also gaining publicity as her career was soaring with the hit sitcom “Taxi” where she played Elaine.
That adds up to (at least) some forty-one closeted years. HIs secret was bound to come out (no pun intended) eventually.
ian
it’s not that he’s gay that might be a career killer, it’s his seeming cowardice in refusing to come out, and the years of fakery and bearding. As far as his wife goes, she has always known whats up. She’s only supposedly upset because it reflects badly on her. She too would be exposed as a liar and faker, and for what? Money and the lifestyle it can buy of course. I have zero sympathy for either of them, but this will be rough on the kids, even if they too (the older ones) understand their parents arrangement.
Spike
Destroy his marriage? HA HA HA, if you were Kelly Palzis, oops, I mean Preston, Class of ’80 bends but never breaks, why would she walk away from her faux Scientology marriage? She’s known he is gay forever, she didn’t even conceive the replacement child, and she has house, one of many, in Florida, that has a garage and adjacent runway for their multiple planes. She aint stupid. She got a plane in the backyard, why would she care that her husband likes dick.
Rockery
Um, we all know he is gay, like the article mentioned, I saw that Enquirer kiss in the grocery a long time ago, nobody cares about this book, so it won’t change anything
PTBoat
@w.e.: He should be ashamed and lose his career because he is a liar who has made a career of suing people who claimed that he was gay while sexually harassing the people who were beholding to him. He made a life on a lie and purposefully damaged the lives of others who were not. This doesn’t even start to speak to the wreckage that his lie could cause for his family.
iDavid
Sounds like John is a sex addict who needs help sorting himself out.
B
I think people should quiet down about it – out of respect for his wife. Sometimes these attempts to “get” some alleged closeted guy end up causing a lot of “collateral damage”.
w.e.
My, my what a bunch of judgemental commenters we have on here today. You have decided that he should be “punished” for supposed sexual conduct outside of his marriage. Why not go after the adulterers in the heterosexual side of the aisle? Oh, because there is still a great deal of self-loathing about homosexuality out there, even amongst the “enlightened” group of gays. They will even stoop so low as to side with the legendarily anti-gay National Enquirer. So sad. By the way, there is a B in LGBT.
Stupid
John Travolta has a career?
Whatever
“I think people should quiet down about it – out of respect for his wife.”
Please! His wife knows d@mn well what’s been going on and she continues to put up with it, so either A) She has no respect for herself or B) She doesn’t care.
Mackdown
@w.e.: Maybe because he belongs to a homophobic church, he’s married with children and is leading a completely double life. Were not talking about cool, normal gay guys like Neil Patrick Harris or Adam Lambert. John Travolta is a really creepy closet case who frequents shady massage palours and highway rest stops while his wife and children are at home. He’s a total freak and thats why this is a story. He should just come out and admit he is gay and then renounce that awful church he’s a member of.
Mackdown
@w.e.: “Why not go after the adulterers in the heterosexual side of the aisle?”

nineinchnail
@xando: EXACTLY! Both Travolta and Cruise are complete cinematic turnoffs.
Mackdown
@Rockery: I wouldn’t be so sure about that. The mainstream press for some reason shyed away from the gay kiss story but something like this could really blow up.
Geri
So, if JT finally comes out as bisexual and Kelly says she’s fine with it – what will you guys say?
Shannon1981
I really don’t care what Travolta’s orientation is. What I care about is the fact that in the face of decades of accusations and evidence, he is lying about it.
For the record, I don’t think he is bi. I think he is gay and is in one of those arranged marriages set up by the Cult of Scientology. I also think the Scientology connection is the reason he, Tom Cruise, and Will Smith are married to women at all. The only one I think is perhaps bi and not gay is Smith.
That is obviously just my opinion, and to be taken as just that, but, where there’s smoke there is usually fire, and there’s enough for a fucking forest fire with Travolta, yet he still chooses to deny, deny, deny.
Deely
The court of public opinion needs new judges. He’s an actor. He gets paid to pretend he’s something he’s not. He’s not very good at it otherwise there wouldn’t be bullshit like this clogging up the “news” rags and the internet.
Mackdown
@Geri: I would say he’s still a moron for being a Scientologist. Tell me were you this apologetic towards Ted Haggard as well?
Mackdown
@Shannon1981: I don’t think Tom Cruise or Will Smith are gay, but Travolta definitely is. I just haven’t seen the level of evidence or the pattern of behavior with those two that I have with John Travolta, who I agree is not bi at all but 100% gay.
Rich
I wish this 24th chromosome didn’t include viciousness as a side effect. I feel sorry for him. Leave him alone. Gay is career suicide in the picture biz. He’s a great actor whose privacy should be respected. Each of us comes out in his own time. If it’s true, he too has that right.
Mackdown
@Rich: Leave him alone? Should the press have left Ted Haggard, Gary Hart, Senator Craig and Jimmy Swaggart alone as well? I don’t feel sorry for him in the least. He’s betraying his wife and family as well as preaching a dangerous religious cults whos teaching already claimed the life of their child. He’s a creepy sexual predator who’s getting what he deserves. I don’t care if he’s gay or straight. Yea, tell Adam Lambert and Neil Patrick Harris about career suicide after coming out. It might have been 30 years ago but its not now.
The Real Mike in Asheville
@Stupid: Apt moniker. Like him or not, just for his movie career, Travolta is Number 22 on the all time box office revenues list, generating $2.5 billion. So, yeah, you are Stupid.

Mackdown
@The Real Mike in Asheville: Nobody is saying he’s not an amazing talent or that he hasn’t made some of the best movies of the last 4 decades. What we are saying however is that hes a creepy closet case who’s also a narcissistic religious lunatic.

I’ll repost this, as Queerty’s dreadful auto-flag thing loses whole posts which have nothing objectionable in them for eternity (no one checks them)…
Let’s hope it doesn’t destroy him.
Homophobia and the widespread and multiple ways homophobia infests society and has done for centuries makes many gay people hate themselves and it makes many gay people remain in the closet.
Secrets, shame, fear, these things can eat away at closeted gay people and it will make them react in all sorts of ways to maintain their dignity and their life and sanity.
Lefty
…The easy answer is to come out and find freedom, but for many in this world that’s far easier said than done.
If Travolta is gay, I don’t blame him for feeling he needs to remain closeted – I blame the homophobic ignorant stupid fools who created and continue to maintain a homophobic society.
The blame is on them, not “us” – and if he’s gay, then he’s one of us, whether some like it or not.
I think any gay person, as far as the mess they get themselves in or whatever – they all deserve our sympathy… and our EMPATHY above all (not our sniggering derision)…

@Rich:
How is being gay careers suicide?? Ask Ian Mckellen, Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Lane and even crazy Rupert Everettt. All of these men work constantly. JT isn’t a viable hearthrob anymore due to his weight, overdyed fake hair so I don’t think his coming out would be an issues.

@Mackdown: Thanks for bringing up NPH and Adam. We have real out gay people now. Pathetic furtive closet cases like Travolta are a relic of the past.
Mackdown
@sheena: Travolta brought this on himself. I have no sympathy for him. What did he expect would happen? That everyone would take his secrets to the grave with them? He’s fortunate this hasn’t happened sooner.
Mackdown
@Lefty: Even if they belong to a crazy homophobic church that attempts to “cure” people of being gay? If Travolta was a not a religious creep on top of a closet case it might not be such a big deal. Tell me were you this apologetic towards Ted Haggard also?
Mackdown
@Geri: Youre acting quite sympathetic towards John Travolta, but I’m curious did you also have this much sympathy for Ted Haggard? I see little difference between him and John Travolta.
Mackdown
@David Ehrenstein: Not a problem. I’m fans of both of those guys. For the record I’m not gay, just an Atheist very much in support of equal rights and marriage equality for gay people. I WANT to be a fan of John Travolta’s again. I grew up in the late seventies and eighties and John Travolta was the guy I wanted to be. Grease, SNF and Urban Cowboy were all epic films in my world so seeing who one of my childhood heroes has turned into is just sad and pathetic. I would have so much more respect for him if just came out and got honest with everyone. By coming out of the closet and embracing who he is and renouncing that wicked Scientology cult he belongs to he could have a positive impact on the lives of millions. Instead his legacy is on the road to being washed up actor who used to be good who’s also a closet homosexual and a religious kook on top of it. PATHETIC
Deee!
You want to hear the truth? You can’t handle it but here goes… The reason everyone is ripping him to shreds is because he’s old and obese. Ask me how. A younger, fitter closet case would be more acceptable because he has something to offer sexually in return, as in, he isn’t a total turn off. An overweight old dude who refuses to accept the truth about himself while using his money to buy sex from otherwise unwilling partners is creepy and gross. There, I said it. This is not a reflection of personal opinion, I don’t believe anything till the person in question confirms it or is inescapably caught, I’m just proposing a reason as to why this story seems more insidious and lecherous than others.
Mackdown
@Deee!: Its insidious and lecherous for the same reason Ted Haggard was insidious and lecherous. John Travolta is the Ted Haggard of Scientology.
Geri
@Mackdown: Ted who? Sorry, I’m from the UK:)
It seems to me if Kelly Preston was the bisexual one in their marriage it wouldn’t be treated as such a big deal. I mean rumour has it that Angelina cheats on Brad with women,(or maybe it’s with his consent – or maybe it’s just gossip – whatever, they stay together) but I don’t see people jumping up and down saying she should stop this sham and come out as a lesbian already.
Lefty
@Mackdown: Where did I say I was apologetic? Travolta may be a Scientologist, but I don’t think he’s ever espoused homophobic views. All religions are homophobic and have forced millions to stay in the closet, I don’t blame any of them for that – I blame the religion and the leaders of those religions. Not that Scientology is a religion; more a gaggle of nut-cases. Ted Haggard is a different matter: he DID preach against homosexuality. I don’t see anything wrong in criticising people like that who are in the closet. I see Travolta as a victim of both homophobia and Scientology. What puzzles me is this: we (gay people) have absolutely no stake in Travolta’s coming out and we certainly don’t gain anything from this juvenile, prurient laughing at his being dragged out of the closet. If certain people can’t come out of their own free will and with Pride, then I think our cause is better served leaving them alone.
Mackdown
@Geri: Horrible comparison. Does Angelina also belong to a church that claims it can “cure” gayness? Nevermind the fact by all indications John Travolta is not bi he is gay. He is a major movie star who’s also a religious spokeperson who got busted cheating on his wife with a dude. Are you really that surprised its a story?
Mackdown
@Lefty: Again, he is a major movie star who’s also a religious spokeperson who got busted cheating on his wife with a dude. Are you really that surprised its a story? Travolta may have not openly expressed homophobic views but he belongs to a church that does. Why should John Travolta be entitled to any softer treatment than Ted Haggard received? He’s not a victim of anything he brought this entirely on himself. I have zero sympathy for him and I think he’s just a pathetic old creep. Between him and Tom Cruise I don’t know who makes my skin crawl worse.
B
No. 54 · Mackdown wrote, “Travolta may have not openly expressed homophobic views but he belongs to a church that does. Why should John Travolta be entitled to any softer treatment than Ted Haggard received?”
Because, even if the allegations are true (I have no opinion on that given no information about the credibility of the people accusing him), Travolta did not make homophobic statements like Haggard did. Here’s an example of Haggard pre scandal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6rSjrBhUIA
Lefty
@Mackdown: All religions vocally criticise homosexuality – I don’t feel the need to out every single person of faith who’s in the closet… unless they’re personally espousing homophobic views from a position of power (like Haggard).
I’m not surprised it’s a story but do you think this is being reported in the way it is by the mainstream press for any other reason than to laugh at the fact he’s (secretly) gay? It’s a way for the homophobic press (and there’s no doubt they all still harbour a large amount of homophobia). There was a long strategy in the UK tabloids for the last 20 years or so that when they got evidence of a closeted celebrity they’d phone them up and give them an ultimatum: either come out on our paper and put a positive spin on it or we’ll run the story on you. That’s a homophobic tabloid (the same papers who tried everything to get cameramen into the private hospital rooms of closeted or gay celebrities dying of AIDS-related illnesses – not for the good of fighting AIDS but to laugh at and deride queers dying of “the gay plague” as they no doubt would have referred to it in their own papers several years earlier.
The widespread reporting of Travolta’s troubles is presented as something to laugh at – and mainly by homophobic media outlets – that’s why it’s almost always reported in a snickering tone.
I have no sympathy for these homophobic news outlets and their derisive methods for reporting stories like this.
I have no sympathy for Scientology, who trap emotionally vulnerable people and if they’re gay use their secret against them to trap them.
I have no sympathy for a society at large that still to this day treats gay people with derision or at best, something to be “tolerated” (what a horrible word, like we’re a disease that has to be tolerated).
Gay people of all ages are in the closet because of societies homophobia – some of us have the strength (or don’t even have the choice) to come out and, unfortunately, some us don’t.
I have empathy and some sympathy for every single one of those who can’t come out.
I don’t give a shit about the ones who go out of their way to vocally criticise gay people and homosexuality. I don’t think Travolta is one of those, and I won’t be joining in the laughter at his expense.
Tom Cruise I would say is different – he’s high up in the organisation, I think, isn’t he?
In such a homophobic organisation, someone of his position has much more responsibility to speak out, but he doesn’t. No, I don’t have any sympathy for him.
My main point is that I feel uneasy joining in the laughter of homophobic news outlets gleefully reporting on cases like Travolta’s – it clearly gives them a chance to laugh at gays and I definitely feel uneasy about the forcing out of the closet someone who has never personally espoused homophobic views.
I honestly feel he deserves our empathy, not our mockery.
Re your last comment – I’m not sure the fact he’s “old” has anything to do with it.
So what?
You’ll be old too one day, as will I – hopefully neither of us will be treated with such dismissive attitudes because – shock horror! – we haven’t remained 18 years old for our entire lives. 🙂
Lefty
@Mackdown: Scientology isn’t a church btw, it’s a cult.
I feel sorry for people in cults – they’re usually emotionally vulnerable people whose weaknesses are manipulated in order to brainwash and then trap them, so they can never escape.
I have nothing but deep loathing for cult leaders and those in positions of power within those cults.

I think it’s a very good comparison. I made it to highlight this pathetic sexist bisexual double standard bullshit that you and so much of society (gay and straight) are buying into – i.e. “Nevermind the fact by all indications John Travolta is not bi he is gay.” I mean, I’m not aware of any rumours that Angelina has cheated on Brad with any men – are you?
As to this Scientology business; I know Travolta has claimed Scientology is not homophobic in any way. I don’t agree with him because L Ron Hubbard clearly was homophobic – but then again he’s dead and I’m not aware of any celebrity type Scientologists who are notorious homophobes. Travolta has apparently been into Scientology since 1975. He may well think he owes all his success as an actor to it. Maybe he does.
“Does Angelina also belong to a church that claims it can “cure” gayness?”
Well, Angelina is a Buddhist apparently and apparently the current Dalai Lama follows the traditional Tibetan Buddhist assertion that inappropriate sexual behaviour includes lesbian and gay sex, and indeed any sex other than penis-vagina intercourse with one’s own monogamous partner, including oral sex, anal sex, and masturbation.
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/1997/06/11/MN24029.DTL
So does this make Angelina Jolie homophobic?
Oh, there is actually a rumour that she cheated on Brad with her ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton in 2005. Right, definitely not a lesbian then! Never mind about the multiple women some people say she can’t stay away from. 🙂

Is Angelina a Tibetan Buddhist?
Also, the Dali Lama stated, “We have to make a distinction between believers and unbelievers”. He stated that various practices were “sexual misconduct” from his sect’s perspective, but clearly indicated that others may have differing opinions, including other Buddhists. He was stating rules for his particular religion, not rules that applied to all of humanity. That’s a big improvement over the Catholic Church and the Mormons. The article cited also stated, “The Tibetan leader noted that those same traditional texts that oppose oral and anal sex approve of vaginal sex with a prostitute. Some Buddhists at yesterday’s press conference said the Dalai Lama was hinting that those traditional Buddhist scriptures may need to be re-examined in a modern social context.”
If Tibetan Buddhists decide to refrain from oral and anal sex as part of their religious practices, that’s their business – they are not trying to force their practices on anyone else. If you like Tibetan Buddhism except for the “no gay sex” rule, then use your First Amendment rights and clone Tibetan Buddhism with the prohibition against gay sex deleted.
Geri
@B: What does it matter what kind of Buddhist Angelina Jolie is? The point is that you can find something “anti gay” in nearly all (maybe all) religions if you dig around a bit.
The point is that some Buddhist traditions are homophobic, but that doesn’t mean Angelina Jolie, or Buddhists in general, are homophobic.
A lot of people in the LGBT community seem to think Travolta only became a Scientologist because he wanted be cured of his homosexual/bisexual urges. A lot of people seem to think that Scientology is just about “curing” gayness and nothing else. And that seems very biased and unobjective to me.
There’s all sorts of things about L Ron Hubbard that make me very skeptical about Scientology. But I’m very skeptical about all religions. However, I can see that a lot of humans appear to need the support of these intrinsically absurd belief systems in order to “succeed in life.”

mr travolta should just come out and own it. it might boost his career!

@Mackdown:
Excuse me? Since when did being a celebrity mean you have some kind of obligation to share the most intimate details of your life and bedroom habits with the world. Only in America are people so obsessed with the sex lives of the rich and famous. Please show me where Scientology has ever come out preaching against homosexuality. After an hour of searching all I can find is a guy who tried to sue because they did not cure him, after allegedly saying they would. The guy has serious issues if he thought he needed to be “cured”. Scientology is steadfast in insisting it is not homophobic. I tend to believe that because a couple I have known for many years are Scientologists, according to my friends they have never been questioned about their orientation or pressured into being “cured”. They are well established as a gay couple. They also say there are other gay people in their particular church and they know of others in other churches. I am not into Scientology but I have yet to find any direct quotes from the church indicating it is anti gay. He hired a gay pilot, I know of two others in his camp who are openly gay. I could name several Christian denominations that are openly homophobic and don’t care who knows it. Some are so extreme they protest at the funerals of our troops and little catholic girls. Other have murdered in God’s name. Several have allowed their children starve to death or beat them to death trying to rid the devil in them. JW’s would rather let their kids die before allowing a blood transfusion based on their belief’s
This is supposed to be a pro gay site. Instead of offering Travolta support and reassurance about coming out many of you are not only making fun of him but you are also insulting him in ways we have been fighting for decades. No wonder the man wants to stay in the closet (if he is gay) when the LGBT community has made it very clear he is not welcome and will only face further ridicule. Most of the comments on the straight sites are saying leave him alone, who cares. Get out of his bedroom.
As for Kelly, once again you are ASSUMING John was “busted for cheating on her with a man”, she is an intelligent woman. If he is gay she knows it and doesn’t care so why do people here insist she should leave him etc etc. For whatever reason Kelly is where she wants to be. Are ya’ll really suggesting being gay also makes him a bad father? I laugh out loud at those who insist he is not Bi but “definitely 100% gay”. I take it you were all there when Kelly was artificially inseminated with his sperm because there is no denying all three children were fathered by John.
Same goes for all you who are ASSUMING and insisting they LET Jett die. I would really like to know how ya’ll got a copies of his medical records. What makes any of you think you have the right to that info? Oh that’s right you all believe Scientology is also anti autism. I think at one point years ago that might have been true, back when the world and medical community considered the condition psychological. They are very clear and pull no punches on their stand against psychiatry. I kind of agree with that. However we all learned condition is neurological and therefore medical. The official stand now is that they do not/will not treat medical conditions and therefore autism must be treated by medical community. Having been raised with two autistic kids I can tell you there are no pills for it. There is no cure. Drugs given to the autistic are sedatives to control hyperactivity. Many parents around the world with autistic kids refuse to sedate them. My parents refused. We never had any special care takers for them either. Behavior modification is effective with some. Can any of you say with certainty say that they did NOT have any therapists work with him? Bed thankful heartless people aren’t demanding your medical records or those of your children.
Sometimes I am embarrassed to be a gay man in America because of the attitudes and comments found here. We must look like uneducated bigots to the rest of the world.

@Deee!: Obese????? Have you seen him lately? He looks like he ha’s lost too much weight. He needs to put the tennis racket down and eat a few of those Miami hamburgers he used to fly in for on a regular basis. Why would he come out (if he is gay) LGBT community is treating him worse than the straight community. That is just plain sad.

The point is that some Buddhist traditions are homophobic, but that doesn’t mean Angelina Jolie, or Buddhists in general, are homophobic.”
LOL – in No 59 you wrote, “Well, Angelina is a Buddhist apparently and apparently the current Dalai Lama follows the traditional Tibetan Buddhist assertion that inappropriate sexual behaviour includes lesbian and gay sex …”
So, first you act like the Dalai Lama’s opinions are relevant to someone named Angelina because both are Buddhists. Then I point out that she is not necessarily a Tibetan Buddhist (which is what the Dalai Lama is). So you reply by claiming that not all Buddhists are the same, contradicting the implication in your first comment.
Interesting (and not about this Angelina person, who you originally referred to by her first name alone).

@B: If it’s your contention that it is wrong to accuse Angelina Jolie of homophobia because she is a Buddhist, and the Dalai Lama (a well known Buddhist religious leader) has made statements which could be considered homophobic, then I wholeheartedly agree with you.

In my post to which you replied I asked the question: “So does this make Angelina Jolie homophobic?”

Not that I really needed to refer to her by her surname at all as it was already quite clear that Mackdown knew exactly who I was referring to.
For the avoidance of doubt, the answer to my question: “So does this make Angelina Jolie homophobic?” is No.
Perhaps Mackdown got my point even if you didn’t.

I don’t care about his weight, age, hair or lack of.
It’s his hypocrisy and lies that I object to.
I admire Neil Patrick Harris for coming out, he’s modern in approach and knows that by coming out he’s helping the cause of others. He’s a good actor and has done a great job playing a straight guy and showing that gay men can actually be accepted in a straight role. People have accepted him.
Making such a fuss over supposedly not being gay has just made Travolta look fake and a fool. It’s almost beyond belief that he has also been a Scientologist for decades and given them ship loads of cash to promote their homophobic doctrines and utter nonsense about people being haunted by alien ghosts.
Think about the few celebrities who have admitted to believing in Scientology (how come Travolta, Cruise etc. are not ashamed of that? They actually think being gay is more ‘shameful’??) they all seem to have major mental problems, identity crises, emotional issues etc.
Not sure whether they had existing problems which made them easier to recruit, or whether the problems developed/got a lot worse after they joined the cult.
Ms Monaco
Gay people need to speak out more against the Scientology cult and, if they are in showbiz, refuse to participate in keeping a stars secret gay life a secret if it’s at the expense of hypocrisy, bullying lawsuits, and painting people who tell the truth as the liars. Those kind of ‘stars’ do the cause of gay people no favours at all.
If the issue was over black heritage, would it sound right? No.
Imagine a star with a lot of African heritage being secretive about it and ‘whiting up’ , frequently denying any black links and suing any of his black relatives who spoke out. Then joining a racist cult group which promoted the idea that being black was a disease which needed to be cured. Paying a white person to pretend to be their partner and who would be frequently wheeled out to tell the press about the stars definite whiteness. Would you admire a movie star who was like that??
No, of course not. You’d think them a fool. Well that’s the stupid position Travolta is in about Not being gay. He’s become an embarrassment to both the straight and gay communities, not an easy task!
