In the wake of a controversial decision to remove books with sexual content from the shelves of the Nampa [Idaho] library – a member of the board has stepped down. Because heaven forbid a child learn how people have sex?! That would be a disaster. *That typo is brilliant! Love a good lisp! |

The Republican, who got nabbed last year trolling for sex in an airport bathroom, announced last night that he's penning a book on energy, for some reason. Before you get to bored, however, Craig also noted that some of this year's scandals will grace the pages: "There will be a bit of what's happened in the last year, and the way it evolved. I think that's important for Idaho and those outside Idaho who are interested to know." Oh, please, Craig! Your sexual misadventures are the only thing that makes you even remotely interesting! |
» No Entry.
Awww! Doesn't 70-year old Idaho native Walt Bayes look like a sweet old man? Well, he's not. In fact, the Republican, who's running for his state's House of Representatives, wants to install gay and straight bathrooms in high schools because "it is absolutely wrong to force any student to share the same bathrooms and showers with homosexual teachers or students." At least he's making space for the gays, right? [Towleroad] |

Idaho Senator Larry Craig is currently seeking intern applications for the summer term, which runs from May to August. The application deadline is March 15, however if more time is needed for the application process, please contact Senator Craig's office for an extension. Craig offers paid internships within the Washington, D.C., office. Preference is given to Idaho applicants attending Idaho schools who are in their junior or senior years of college (including graduating seniors). Do you think you've got the balls, reader? |

The Senate's Ethic Committee told the Idaho Senator this afternoon that he acted "unethically" and "brought discredit to the Senate," according to the AP. The committee, which is led by Democrat Barbara Boxer, - also wrote that Craig knew exactly what he was doing in that bathroom and attempted to misuse his position to sway the arresting officer: The six members of the committee — three Democrats and three Republicans — told Craig they believed he "committed the offense to which you pled guilty" and that "you entered your plea knowingly, voluntarily and intelligently." Despite their conclusion, Boxer and her colleagues did not recommend any further action against the politico. They must have taken pity on the man, who will not be running for reelection and whose legacy will forever be tarnished by his bathroom antics. What's more, now everyone knows his trollish ways and he'll never again be able to cruise with shameful confidence. Poor thing. |

Shocker!
On this day when we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Senate State Affairs Committee voted to print the first piece of legislation to mention sexual orientation, and to propose ending centuries of discrimination against gays and lesbians in employment, housing, education and public accommodation. The potential bill will rewrite 1968's Human Rights Act and would prohibit businesses with five or more employees from discriminating based on sexual orientation. Religious organizations, however, would not have to abide by the law. We simply can't wait to hear how Craig votes - not that we're expecting much… |

Idaho Statesman Releases Risqué Audio (With Anal!)
The Idaho Statesman published explicit audio recordings from five of Craig's alleged lovers, including familiar faces David Phillips and Mike Jones… |

Has High Hopes, Expectations For America
Popkey also worries that he's not his paper's best public representative. Don't worry, Popkey, we've seen you on television and you're doing a great job. Although, you could use a bit more graphic language. But that's just our fucking style. |

But Is It Legal?
…Craig has spent nearly $23,000 in campaign funds to pay a Washington lawyer who represents him before the Senate ethics committee, a new campaign finance report shows. Though it may seem unfair, politicians can use campaign funds for lawyerly fees, but only if it pertains to their official business. Some wonder if Craig's bending the rules. Meredith McGehee of the Campaign Legal Center wonders, It's kind of interesting that he would use his campaign funds but at the same argue he shouldn't be punished (by the Senate) because this has nothing to do with his officials acts. "Interesting"? It sounds criminal. And sneaky, just like Craig. |

To Be Celebrated In Idaho
The nonprofit Idaho Hall of Fame Association picked Craig in March, months before he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct after a Minneapolis airport police officer accused him of soliciting sex in the men's restroom, the organization's board chairman said. Not if you're Larry Craig. That man's fucking unstoppable! |

Idahoan Ally Pledges Support
Our prayers continue to be with Senator Craig and his family as they make decisions that will affect their future and Idaho's. The people of Idaho will benefit most if Idaho's delegation remains united in working to secure the greatest results possible for our state. I am committed to do everything I can to help make Senator Craig’s remaining months in office as successful as possible. Does that include satisfying Craig's taste for gay sex? He must have some wicked blue balls since that July arrest. |

Wants To See Senator He Fights Inevitable
I'd like to see Larry Craig go back to court, seek to withdraw his guilty plea and fight the case. On the evidence Senator Craig wouldn't be convicted of anything. And he's got his life on the line and 27 years in the House and Senate, and I'd like to see him fight the case because I think he could be vindicated. Well, actually, the fact that he pled guilty in the first place sort of does give it basis. And, also, what would he the point? There's no way in hell the good people of Idaho would reelect him. They're not total potato heads. |

Happy Endings: Special Edition
In his statement, Craig preferred not to highlight his Republican colleague's calls for his head. Instead, the 62-year old anti-gay politico placed blame on his legal battle to clear his lewd name: …To pursue my legal options as I continue to serve Idaho would be an unwanted and unfair distraction from my job and for my Senate colleagues. Craig also apologizes to his constituents and his colleagues. He did not, however, explicitly thank his wife, Suzanne. The poor woman ended up getting steamrolled by his struggle to stay afloat: …Suzanne and I have been humbled by the outpouring of support we have received from our friends, our family, staff and fellow Idahoans - we are profoundly and forever grateful. We sure hope Suzy C's busting his balls at home, cause Craig's deserve some busting. Oh, wait, that's what got him into this mess in the first place… Full statement after the jump… |
