CAPITOL CRISIS

Dear Washington DC: Please Stop Assaulting Your Trans Women

At 4am Saturday morning,  an unidentified Latina trans woman was found unconscious in the Columbia Heights area of Washington, DC. She was taken to Howard University Hospital where she later died.

In an unrelated incident taking place just an hour later, police arrested a man in Southeast DC after he threatened three trans women with a gun following an altercation on a bus.

This follows off-duty police officer Kenneth Furr firing his firearm five times into a car full of transwomen and the shooting death of Lashai McLean.

Maybe someone from the Nation’s Capital  can explain why violence against trans women seems to be on an upward tick?
