Ex-Catholic Alberto Cutie: Church Could Not ‘Function’ If Gays Were Kicked Out

Having been forced out of the Catholic Church last year for having a girlfriend — and being photographed kissing her — Miami’s Father Alberto Cutie is now an Episcopal priest. And a published author! In his new tome Dilemma: A Priest’s Struggle with Faith and Love, Cutie, now married to Ruhama who gave birth to a daughter, writes about his own romance, the church’s failings in its child sex abuse scandal, and THE GAYS. “There are so many homosexuals, both active and celibate, at all levels of clergy and Church hierarchy that the church would never be able to function if they were really to exclude all of them from ministry,” writes Cutie, effectively agreeing with other ex-Catholic Church types who know that what happens under the cross does not stay under the cross. But then who would be worthy of God’s AIDS?
