We knew it was coming, but we’ve just received word that civil war torn HX magazine shuttered its Philadelphia venture, HX Philadelphia. Now the city’s homos have no other option but to wander the streets like zombies to seek out their own debauchery. Tragic.

I wouldn’t call it tragic. Not by a loooooooong shot.
Hells kitchen guy
Civil War Torn? Isn’t this a bar guide in NYC? Maybe Queerty needs to set it sights higher.
Happy 2B Me
Wow. Two HX stories in one day.
Okay…NOW I get it…You’re on the HX payroll and you’re doing your bit to keep their name in the news. Whatever they’re paying you, they must be happy with the time and effort you’re putting into the task.
You’ve obviously taken to heart the old adage that “there is no such thing as bad publicity.” Well done to you!
UnHappy 2B You
It is all sad.

More bad news for HX? Looks like Matthew Bank’s gay media empire is crumbling.
Time to break out the champagne everybody! Hooray!
ook!
Please, people, do not forget to mention that HX was originally founded to promote unhealthy, unsafe costly behavior at Peter Gatien controlled nightclubs promoted by sleazebag extraordniaire Marc Berkley. Now take a sip.
Frustrated Boston guy
Lets take bets for what time (not what day) they will close the Boston abortion.
JohnnyR
Yes…it’s tragic. It’s tragic that people are losing their jobs. Let’s just make it a celebration that more people in this country are without work. That’s a very healthy thing, Joe.
And, Happy, Andrew’s just bitter because he couldn’t write well enough to make it inside the pages of HX other than as a sales exec on the masthead. You still how well he writes here.
JohnnyR
Oooh. Just learned that N’Touch, that Bill Berggren piece of crap he published has folded. Why haven’t we heard that in the “pages” of Queerty – because it’s something POSITIVE about HX.
Ryan
Wow…I love rumors! I heard that N’Touch wasn’t folding. Then again, who knows. I haven’t read it in any newspaper yet and honestly I think if they get their act together they may be able to pull it off. But then again, it’s all rumor. Honestly, I’d like to see N’Touch take off. At least their first publication had relevant LGBT stuff in it…..just my two cents.
Rock
N’Touch has NOT folded. When will those flunkies who work for Matthew Bank stop spreading lies?
Man, they really are desperate, aren’t they? Their publications are failing and they don’t have a clue what to do.
Look! a man!
Rock, their pubs are failing because A) They are more than a decade out of touch with the demographic who go out and take part in urban culture they purport to accurately promote B) They can’t compete with smarter, more resonant pubs, as in this one C) Younger gays have more and better options then to have to wait for a bar rag – that’s for the middle aged trolls who want to hire escorts that advertise in the back pages D) When they can’t browbeat you, they try to exact some phony indignant sympathy about their ‘plight,’ as if sleazy arrogant queens losing their crap gigs is a tragic situation, and the result is a nasty shill who tries to be toxic to other, way less disingenuous posters.
Bastard Step Child
So when’s the next issue of N’Touch coming out, Rock?
Ryan
For what I heard was something to do with Bill Berggren used to work for HX and when he left to do this new paper, HX came after him and now the paper is in limbo. Politics at it again where it’s all about who’s better. I mean take a look at what In News Weekly put out and even now what New England Blade comes out with and then look what N’Touch had. I saw some great stuff in N’Touch and I don’t even want to pick up the New England Blade.
Come to think of it. I saw a guy come out of Starbucks in the South End with a copy of the New England Blade. He looked at it once and then threw it in the trash. Not even worth the time to own it. I hope it flops. We need something that matters in New England. Not some New York…non New England company telling US what is news here.
I hope N’Touch can get back on the wagon and blow them out of the water. I know a few people who know Bill personally and he does a fantastic job at the work he does on paper.
Rock
N’Touch WILL return, and when it does, it will blow the New England Blade out of the water.
JohnnyR
Okay. So answer the question. When will it return? I’ll be anxious to see if it’s better than what I picked up in Boston in February. Then again, it wouldn’t take much for it to be better.
