Failed presidential candidate Mike Huckabee is using some pretty thinly veiled language to scare voters into making the “right” (in both sense of the words) choice next week.
Above, Huckabee babbles about eternal judgment and values that “stand the test of fire.” This guy was actually a mainstream contender for the highest office in the land, people!
Many issues are at stake, but some issues are not negotiable: The right to life from conception to natural death. Marriage should be reinforced, not redefined. It is an egregious violation of our cherished principle of religious liberty for the government to force the Church to buy the kind of insurance that leads to the taking of innocent human life.
Your vote will affect the future and be recorded in eternity. Will you vote the values that will stand the test of fire? This is Mike Huckabee asking you to join me November 6th and vote based on values that will stand the test of fire.
However, Huckabee didn’t suggest women should not be allowed to vote—that’s one of those inconvenient biblical values reactionaries don’t like to bring up.

According to the Bible MArriage was between One Man, multiple wives and concubines.
Also, just curious….if Huckabee knows what it takes for somebody to be a good spiratual person then why was his son fired as a camp councelor for hanging and torturing a dog to death?

Mike, you have failed in trying to convert people in your way of thinking when you ran for President. If there is a Hell like you believe, then I’ll be glad too be with friends that don’t think like you. My problem with you is that you are a false prophet who profits from your bigoted beliefs. I hope someday, that churches and religious groups lose their tax write offs.

Mr. Huckabee may believe his values can withstand fire, but they cannot withstanding time. The curtain call is coming for Mr. Huckabee’s anti-gay passion play.
Little-Kiwi
remember when his son was kicked out of the Scouts for torturing and murdering a stray dog?

Prove it Mikey!
As with most things Mr. Huckabee says, I ignore his bullshit.

Gay, Liberal, agnostic, pro-marriage equality and pro-life here. Being gay and liberal doesn’t automatically make one pro-choice.

At least in Hell I can converse with Voltaire and Mark Twain. Up in the other joint you only run in to televangelists and Popes.

As a believer Huck, You can kiss my @SS in the name of Jesus of Nazareth, you lying sack of Sh!T !!! As the song goes: You have given Christ a bad name!!! Heck even Your Christ condemned snake-oil sales men like yourself. Christ condemned the religious leaders for not caring for the poor, not feeding the hungry, not taking care and visiting the people who find themselves in whatever prisons they found themselves in. Christ condemned religious leaders like you for going out on the street corner and blasting horns so everyone knew you were praying. Instead Christ said go into your closet to pray so only you and your heavenly parent(GOD) knew what you said. Christ said we are not to judge one another, but ST Paul said we are to keep one another accountable in Christ Message, and sir, you have pissed all over Christ’s sermon on the mount by your actions! Maybe when you take some time off your own personal holy BS hill, you could come back to earth and remember that Christ hanged out with the party crowd, you know the Tax collectors, the Prostitutes, and the People who were rejected by the likes of you. And it seems Christ preferred their company than your type. Maybe one day you will learn to pass the Peace and Grace of Christ onto others. I am not holding my breath. One day you also might learn to read Huck, because the last time I check John 3:16, the “WHO SO EVER BELIEVES IN HIM”, means ANYONE WHO BELIEVES, you self absorbed horses but! Never in the whole Bible do you read anywhere where CHRIST ever said the CRAP that has come out of your mouth. Christ never condemned a gay person or even said anything on the topic of homosexuality, and being GOD don’t you think he would know about gay people wanting to live their lives with their GOD’s appointed mate? And don’t even get me on the topic of GOD supporting rape so he can put a child you don’t care about on the planet. Only your type could have come up with that warped thinking.
Huck you think you look so good on the outside, but you stink on the inside where it counts.
Did I use too many big words for you Huck?
For the rest of you, IF YOU DON’T BELIVE- I WAS NOT TALKING TO YOU.

Why do people such as Mike Huckabee and others of the conservative, right-wing sort, fall back on FEAR? Put the fear of god in them, right? That ought to convince them that gay marriage or equality for all is wrong. What about the people here on the ground who live and breathe everyday? Eternity? Fear of god? What about the people here right now? Who are the people here? They’re certainly not all Mick Huckabee-thinking folk. What will you do with the damned-for-eternity folk right now? I know, let’s have an inquisition and get rid of them.

Maybe on this planet the US election is a big deal, but on a universal scale, if there is a god, it probably doesn’t give a fück. The universe is a big place, Huck. Get over the fact that you re not the center of it.

“… that you can get away with the most extraordinary offenses to morality and to truth in this country if you will just get yourself called ‘reverend’.” – Christopher Hitchens, Anderson Cooper/CNN interview re: death of Jerry Falwell
A great quote that applies to all the con-artists who mix religion and politics for their own personal enrichment.

Wow and those gays serving in the military do deserve more thought than this news guy will give. But this world is round and many see things from different points of view. There are ways like being hitched by a judge that changes many things. Religion has started many wars and fights and arguments but also dose much good. Sometimes I think no wounder young gay people can get confused but many things are changing but forcing religion to do something has not always worked out so good. That’s what judges are for and God is the greatest!

@D9W: Re 8, “As a believer…
I meant no disrespect to you by jokingly referring to your comments as fire and brimstone.
Someone should say what you’ve said because it “needs to be said”.
It’s a shame that certain religious people, as indicated in this article, should have such a public soapbox.
And we here, who are capable of presenting truthful and meaningful views, may not have our comments reach anyone except those who read these posts.
I’m certain of this, that our “creator-God-Jesus-friend” knows our hearts and the causes we believe are important and will reward our efforts as he has done already in many ways.
Accomplishing good things requires struggle.

‘God’ I hate all the political emails. I can’t wait for this crap to be over…. It takes forever to dump them into the delete folder.
@Billysees no offence taken. I don’t know if you remember the Money Trials? The religious side thought they were going to win because they had all the religion on their side. Trouble was they never thought to learn what the other side had to say. They got arrogant. The Science side took the time to learn what the religious side had to say and took them to task. You are not going to win if you think your ‘thinking’ is the only right thing out there. I have a aunt and uncle who are both extremely religious and stupid. They have a litany of things they refuse to believe that has kicked them in the but. I could go into about people in our family warning them about the banks taking their home because someone stole from them. In their word it would not happen because ‘God’ would not let it. They don’t believe in Car insurance Because ‘God’ would not allow them to get into a car accident. Yeah, that bad. When I caught them in a lie, they could not admit they said it, because ‘God’… Yeah that bad. The only time these people listen is when you use their own words against them (religion), and even then they cant hear the facts. Use Science, and you might as well be speaking Chinese. Telling them there is no ‘God’, and you might as well be speaking Tibet to them, even though they speak pigeon.
I spent a number of quarters in philosophy in college, the one thing I learn is: The other guy has the same obligation as you do to prove his idea. So the guy that says there is a ‘God’ has the same burden as the guy that says there is not a ‘God’. And the truth, it does not matter who is wrong or right. So my take is learn from both examples, and be responsible for your own thoughts. It’s simple to tear down someone’s else idea, but to understand it is a lot harder. I am not saying I am buying into huck here. I think there are some truths he cant even grasp, even inside of his own believe system. I think the picture is even bigger then what he tries to paint with a limited mind. So should we turn off the light on thought simply because we cant grasp it?
I appreciate what you said about ideas are more important then everything else being correct. It’s easy to criticize a bind person for bumping into things while they walking, it’s a lot harder to wear a blind fold for a month and walk in their shoes. Only stupid people criticize a blind person for trying to walk. I have the same learning challenges as George Patton had. Most people don’t get what that means, until they take a college level class on the subject. Even then they haven’t a clue what that means to live with it day in and day out for life. Unlike him, my majority challenge lies with the auditory part. But like him it really screws with your ability to write. His was so bad, his secretary made him type out everything he wrote because he couldn’t spell the word ‘The’ on the same page, the same way, and nobody, not even Patton could read his own hand writing. Other people that have this challenge: Tomas Edison, Michael Faraday, Whoopi Goldberg, Greg Louganis, Winston Churchill, (I did not know this: ) George Washington, Richard Branson, Steven Spielberg, Ingvar Kamprad, Woodrow Wilson, John F. Kennedy, Cher, And Albert Einstein. That last guy had it so bad he could not tie his shoes because of it- they call it fine motor skills, but like all of us it’s not just one type but a combination of the three: Visual, Auditory, and Motor. Motor being broken down into two categories: Fine and Gross. But what does this have to do with HUCK? Or WTF?
Here’s the thing: HUCK buddy thinks people with Dyslexia are just demon possessed. Science says these people have some different wirings inside their brain then the rest of the world has. Has nothing to do with how many Angles can dance on the head of a pin. Most of the people with Dyslexia are supper smart, just they see or think or hear the world differently then you. If it was not for the fact that Albert Einstein thought his world visually because of his dyslexia, you probably would not be reading the language you’re reading right now. Scary thought: If Albert didn’t have the struggles that he did, and Mitt and Huck and people who think like those two got their wish, simply you might not be here today. So those who have a nervous breakdown over grammar errors, or spelling errors, maybe you should think twice before you jump in bed with Huck or Mitt here. You’re life might depend on it.

Grr. I meant monkey trials.

Enjoyed your comment here.
Especially, “And the truth, it does not matter who is wrong or right. So my take is learn from both examples, and be responsible for your own thoughts”.
Interesting about, “fine motor skills”.
I read some things here too — http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyslexia
